Amelia opened her eyes to see herself in a meadow. It was a wide land with greens that were fresh and beautiful. The sky was blue and beautiful. The clouds were fluffy and looked like little horses in the sky.Amelia stared at them for a while. She found different shapes and sizes of the clouds in the sky. She found one that looked peculiar. Like a child.Like her child.Amelia gasped as she remembered."Where is my son?" She screamed out as she remembered. Looking around, she saw no one. It was just her and an open field of grass. Amelia struggled to get up. It felt as though she had a hundred pins in her body. It ached all over."I need to find my son" she kept repeating to herself as she tried hard to stand on her feet. Finally, she made it up and began walking. There was nowhere in sight. No trees, no houses, and no people. All that stretched across her view was an open field.Frustrated, she bent her knees and got back on the ground to cry.Nothing could be worse than this.
Alpha Alex caressed the head of his mate as she laid still and sedated on the bed.He looked at her and then back at his Beta wolf."What did Sandra say again?"It was like he was forgetting everything that was earlier mentioned to him. All that was on his mind was Amelia and her well-being.How was she coping?"We manage to capture Sandra on her way out. She let the others leave but we caught her"Killian reported.Alex raised his head and stared at his beta wolf. "The Sandra I know is smart enough to escape. If we caught her, something tells me she wanted to be caught".He rose on his feet and walked to his Beta."Where is she?""In the next room. Due to the urgency, I had her locked up in the next room. She will be interrogated soon, on your command".Alex searched for the nurse and then found her at the corner of the room. She sat up straight, with a worried look on her face."Make sure to take care of her and let me know when she wakes up, okay?""Yes, Alpha".He turned back to h
Amelia opened her eyes slowly. The light from the window she was facing nearly blinded her with its bright rays of sunlight. She hissed and then proceeded to turn to her side. She blinked several times as she tried to get her eyes accustomed to the environment before she opened it up completely. The first person she saw was her mate. Alpha Alex.He was seated beside her, wearing a frown. She sat up quickly, wiped her face, and then spoke, "What's wrong?""Nothing"."You can't say nothing is wrong with that look on your face. Tell me, what's wrong?"Alex wondered if she had fainted so hard that she slipped out of reality for a second. It was so hard to tell if she remembered all that had happened before. Was he going to be the one to remind her? He sighed. He had to. "Well, Sandra is requesting to speak with you and only you. She says she will not tell us the location of your child if she doesn't meet with you". He felt his heart break a little as he spoke.Amelia looked down at her
Sandra danced her brows around. They moved up and down as she smiled and tried to make jest of the situation."It's my turn to laugh now", she said as she scoffed and turned to face Amelia, "I told you you would regret it, didn't I?" Amelia exhaled with a sigh."After this, will you tell me where my son is?"Sandra nodded, "Yes. But before I do so, Alex has to take the oath too. I can stop you but I can't stop him and what would be the point of it?".Amelia looked over her shoulder to find Alex. His eyes were already on her. On her back, to be precise. Her bare back had scratch marks on it.It took everything in Alex not to run over them and embrace her as he would tightly snuggle her in his arms. He held back the tears in his eyes and his breaking heart, watching Amelia, the woman after his heart beg for her son's sake.Especially in front of the massive crowd that had gathered in front of his mansion. It was heartbreaking to see."I hope you don't mind the people here." Sandra st
"I abide by the laws of the above and the laws of below"."And so it shall be" Sandra finished off her statement with a clap and a broader smile on her face. She turned to the crowd with a fierce look, "why aren't you all clapping? Do you want to get killed?"Her words spunned them into clapping with stopping. Sandra nodded her head. She looked at the crowd with pride in her heart. She had done it. She was going to rule over them. She looked back at Amelia, "You can get off now".Amelia felt frozen on the spot. She could barely move her legs , and her chest was stagnant."Move!" Sandra pushed her.Amelia staggered. She almost fell when Alex caught her in his arms. He spooned her up to safety and made her balance properly on her feet."You're about to be apart, you're not allowed to do that to her!" Sandra yelled, she came in between the both of them and pushed them further apart."Wait for me in the meeting room" She faced Amelia. Her head turned sideways, "You, come with me!" Sand
Amelia cleared her throat. She had been sitting in a car for hours, on her way, headed back to her pack. She was to be received by Alpha David. He was aware of what was happening."How far is it from here?" She looked at the driver. Their eyes met when he looked up at the mirror over his head. He had black eyes. Scary but amusing."It shouldn't take too long, Luna". He looked back at the road and then at the map his phone had stationed for him. "Once we get over this bridge, I'm sure we'll be halfway across".Amelia sighed. Halfway to hell was what he should have said. She was tired already.Meeting Maxwell after what she had done to him and his father, she presumed, would be her worst nightmare yet.Over the bridge and another one, Amelia watched the trees pass her by. Quietly, she sat, pitying herself. No mate, no baby, and certainly no happiness. Was the moon goddess against her in this life?"We're here", the driver honked at the gate. Amelia's eyes ran to see what awaited her, bu
Maxwell sank into his couch. He let out a loud sigh."It's so good to have you home again. Would you believe I haven't touched the dishes since you left?"He wasn't kidding. The kitchen reeked of stink. It smelled like someone had died in there. Amelia perched her two fingers on her nose, trying to hold her breath in. She moved to the window for fresh air."What do you want with me?"Maxwell got comfortable. He pulled his shirt off and adjusted his belt. He slacked in his chair."Well. I'm trying to get back to you. I've gone this far for you. Shouldn't that be enough to mean love to you?"Lies. All of it."What do you want?" She was still poking her nose out the window. A cold wind blew on her face, easing the pain and the stench."I want you, Amelia". She heard his voice closer than it was. She turned to see he had gotten up and was now making his way towards her.She faced him, clenched her fist, and positioned her body. She was ready to throw him a punch. He closed the gap between
Alpha Alex retired to bed early. He was not in the best of moods to smile or mingle with anyone. Ever since Amelia left, no one had seen his laugh lines. Those bright blue eyes looked dull whenever they met people.“Tonight is the night”, Sandra came jumping on the bed. It jiggled a little but Alex lay still.“I've missed you and I'm glad I can finally take what's mine”. She snuggled up behind him”. For so long, I thought I was going to lose you, thankful to the moon goddess, I didn’t”. As her hands touched Alex, he flung them away. “Don’t touch me”.“And how are we supposed to make children if you act this way towards me”, Sandra attempted to touch him again but he slapped her hand off. He turned to face her, “Do not touch me, I say”.It didn’t look like she was going to listen with her numerous attempts to grab him by the waist. Alex tried to ward her off and when it seemed like it was not going to work, he grabbed his pillow and got up.“There are countless rooms in this mansion
