Maxwell sank into his couch. He let out a loud sigh.

"It's so good to have you home again. Would you believe I haven't touched the dishes since you left?"

He wasn't kidding.

The kitchen reeked of stink. It smelled like someone had died in there. Amelia perched her two fingers on her nose, trying to hold her breath in. She moved to the window for fresh air.

"What do you want with me?"

Maxwell got comfortable. He pulled his shirt off and adjusted his belt. He slacked in his chair.

"Well. I'm trying to get back to you. I've gone this far for you. Shouldn't that be enough to mean love to you?"

Lies. All of it.

"What do you want?" She was still poking her nose out the window. A cold wind blew on her face, easing the pain and the stench.

"I want you, Amelia". She heard his voice closer than it was. She turned to see he had gotten up and was now making his way towards her.

She faced him, clenched her fist, and positioned her body. She was ready to throw him a punch.
