Third Person Pov

Kavan and Jason met up with Greg at the secluded spot behind the restaurant, the same location where their fateful conversation had begun.

As they exchanged brief greetings before getting down to business, the air was thick with suspense and anxiety.

Kavan's gaze fixed on Greg, seeking reassurance that he hadn't changed his mind.

"So, Greg, are you still in for our deal?" Kavan asked, his voice tinged with a mixture of hope and apprehension.

Greg, his face displaying a mix of determination and curiosity, nodded affirmatively. "Yes, I'm still interested. Just make sure the payment is delivered as promised," he replied, confirming that he had not changed his mind.

Relief washed over Kavan, evident in the softening of his features. He had been anxious that Greg might back out at the last moment, but now that he had confirmed that they were still firmly aligned, regarding the task, he was relieved.

With a satisfied smile, Kavan retrieved the handwritten letter f

Kazia As we stepped into Iris's room, a wave of exhaustion and frustration washed over me. I could still feel the heat of Portia's slap on my cheek, a constant reminder of the crazy ordeal that had just transpired a few minutes ago for no good reason. As we settled down and took our seats, the weight of the recent altercation with Portia still hung heavily on my mind, causing me to feel all sorts of different emotions. Iris, as soon as she sat, wasted no time before addressing the situation, with concern evident in her voice. "Kazia, are you okay?" Iris asked, her eyes searching mine for any signs of distress. I forced a smile, masking the seething anger that burned within me. "I'm fine," I replied, though the bitterness lingered in my words. The truth was, I was far from fine. The fact that Portia had slapped me without reason was an insult that cut deep, and the fact that I didn't get a chance to defend myself only added salt to the wound. As I vented my frustration to I

Third Person Pov Greg anxiously waited outside the kitchen, the bustling sounds of clinking plates and hurried footsteps echoing in the background. His heart beat with anticipation and nervousness as the chefs prepared to bring the perfectly prepared supper to the royal family. Would whatever plan Aretha had in mind work? Would he be able to find Lady Kazia and deliver the letter that held such importance to Kavan, and was his key to getting paid three thousand peros?Just as doubt began to creep in, Greg spotted Aretha making her way toward him. She had a weary expression, which was a convincing portrayal of someone who wasn't feeling well. They exchanged a brief nod of acknowledgment before stepping away from the bustling kitchen and finding a secluded spot to speak."I managed to take permission from the head chef to leave early," Aretha explained, her voice hushed. "Really? How did you manage to do that?" Greg asked. "I told him I was feeling ill and that you would be r

Kazia I watched as Greg, the kitchen staff, delivered the letter into my trembling hands. Gratefulness welled up inside me, and I excused him from the room, thanking him profusely. "Greg, I sincerely thank you for delivering this successfully. I'll make sure to call for you when next I need your assistance," I said softly, my voice betraying my nervousness. Without saying anything else, Greg bowed respectfully before leaving, and as the door closed behind him, I was left alone with my thoughts. For a while, I stood still, my gaze stuck on the thin sheet gripped in my hands. My heart pounded in my chest like a wild beast wanting to escape, and I felt all sorts of emotions clouding my mind simultaneously. I could still clearly recall what had transpired during our brief contact, Kavan and me. It happened on the day of the moon feast, and while it was just a short moment, it left a lasting impression on me. In these last few days, I had eagerly tried to get rid of any memor

Third Person Pov Kazia kept staring at herself in the mirror with Aldana and the other servants standing behind her. Whenever Murad went out to town, it was customary for a pet to accompany him, and since Kazia was his newest pet, it was her turn to walk around town with the Lycan King and be paraded as his newest item. Aldana and the servants had made sure she was dolled up enough for her first outing, putting her in a suffocating corset dress and making sure she looked her best. As she stood there, Kazia's stomach churned with fear and apprehension. She knew that the more beautiful she looked, the more attention she would attract from her owner - and that could only mean trouble as far as she was concerned."Oh, Kazia dear, you look so stunning right now! The King is going to be so happy!" Aldana said, smiling at Kazia's reflection, and feeling proud of her work. Kazia forced a smile back, trying to ignore the knot in her stomach. "Thank you, Aldana," she said in a small voice.

Kazia As I climbed into the carriage, I could feel the tension between me and Murad. He had been silent since we had left my bedroom, and I didn't feel like saying anything to appease his mood. I knew the reason behind his anger was because I didn't treat him how he had expected me to, and he just hated the fact that I was being indifferent to him, despite how hard he was trying to be pleasant towards me, just so I can fall for his nice guy act. I didn't warm up to Murad as some of the other pets did because, as far as I was concerned, it made no sense to warm up to your captor. I've never tried to gain his favor because I didn't want to give him any more excuses to order me around or try to get closer to me. I already hated that I couldn't get far away from him, so it made no sense that I'd try to get him to treat me especially when it would only give him more leverage over me. As we made our way down the road, I tried to push my discomfort aside and focus on the outside wo

Kavan Jason and I strolled along the streets of Silver Dawn once more, observing the people and getting a feel of their pack. Since I still haven't received a response from Kazia, I decided to use my time here to look around and observe how things worked. As Jason and I looked around, I couldn't help but notice how the people of Silver Dawn looked rushed and busy compared to our people in Silver Crest. It may sound like a weird observation, but something about watching them almost made me dizzy, as they all seemed to be hurrying somewhere, hurriedly doing something, and basically just rushing in every sense of the word. "These people look like they work too hard," I commented, shaking my head in disapproval. "It's almost like they're not even letting themselves breathe at all," I added, genuinely concerned that they were acting so rushed and slightly desperate. Jason nodded. "Well, according to what I heard previously, half of their earnings go to Murad and his council as tax.

Third Person Pov Agrippina continued to pace back and forth in her room, her frustration and anger palpable. She had gone to visit Murad in his quarters earlier, only to be told that he had left the palace with one of his pets. The fact that Murad had not deemed her worthy enough to inform her first that he was leaving the palace left a bad taste in her mouth, and simply saying she was furious would be an understatement. Feeling uneasy, she had sent her personal maid, Nancy, to find out which pet Murad had taken out on a stroll to town, and was now waiting for her return. She was mentally hoping with all her might that it wouldn't be who she thought it was because hearing that name would only ruin her mood and make her all the more bitter. After a few minutes of waiting that felt like forever, Nancy entered the room, and almost immediately she walked in, she could sense her mistress's frustration. "Milady, I bring back news. I have asked around the pets and found that King

Third Person Pov Kavan and Jason returned to their inn, their minds preoccupied with the thoughts of everything that happened earlier at the market. They took their seats at the table in their room, but before Kavan could even catch his breath, Jason was quick to reprimand him. "What in the world were you thinking, Kavan?" Jason said, his voice sharp with reproach. If he weren't still conscious of the fact that Kavan was his king besides being his friend, he would have given him a good punch as soon as they walked through the doors. "Do you even realize what would have happened because of your carelessness? You almost blew our cover right in front of Murad. What were you planning on doing? Jumping in front of him and announcing your presence in his Pack? If I hadn't pulled you away, we would both be dead by now!" Jason hissed, unable to hide his anger. Kavan remained silent, not because he was trying to ignore Jason, but because his mind was elsewhere. He couldn't shake off the i
