chapter 5

STELLA'S POV

I slammed the door behind me, my heart racing as I leaned against the wall.

"What did I just watch?" I swallowed hard, the lump in my throat sinking into my stomach as I stared into space.

"Stella, what's wrong with you?" I bit my lips inwardly.

I had just watched Alexander having sex with his girlfriend, and for a moment, I had wished I was the one underneath him.

A forbidden thought crept in, uninvited. My skin tingled at the imagined weight of his hands, his breath warm against my neck.

I closed my eyes, and then a moan escaped my lips. My cheeks burned red and then I clenched my fist snapping myself into reality.

"Get yourself together, Stella," I warned inside my head.

The next morning, sunlight flushed through the window, warming my face. I twirled in my bed with a moan.

"When are you going to wake up, you lazy bone? Please don’t tell me all humans are this tiresome."

Alexander's voice rang in my head, and my eyes snapped open.

I scurried out of bed, rushing to the edge and blinking through the dizziness. That’s when I made out his form in the corner.

He was in my room, leaning casually against the table. His body hung low, and he wore a loose sweater that revealed his flawless tan skin.

Around his neck was a moon pendant that caught my attention.

"Close your mouth before drool slips out. I know you like what you see, so there’s no need to state the obvious." He smirked, brushing his hand over his perfectly shaped lips, which seemed to beg for my attention.

I gulped, peeling my eyes away from this Greek god. Slowly, realization struck me.

What was he doing here?

"Why are you..." My voice trailed off as he interjected with a smirk, his brow arched mockingly.

"Doing in your room?" He scoffed, shaking his head slightly. "I practically own the house, so why are you making it seem like I’m doing something bad?"

I frowned, irritated by his attitude. "Just because you own the place doesn’t give you the right to come inside my room without permission. I value personal space and privacy," I snapped.

"Hmm." Alexander pursed his lips, amusement dancing in his eyes. "So when you were spying on me last night, you didn’t think to consider personal space and privacy, Miss Bella?"

My face tightened with a frown, and I arched a brow. Why did he have to be so annoying every time we spoke?

"FYI, It’s Stella. Do you have so many women in your life that you can’t even remember their names?"

"Well," Alexander stood up, his broad chest flexing as his messy dark hair fell over his face. His amber eyes narrowed at me with a smirk. "I guess it’s only the important ones I remember. But you make it sound like it’s a bad thing. Weren't you the one wishing she was underneath me yesterday?"

I swallowed, my hands tightening over the blanket wrapped around my legs.

My cheeks heated even more as I remembered what I had done yesterday. The more I thought about it, the more embarrassed I felt. Why didn’t I just leave?

A pair of warm hands brushed over my cheeks, and I snapped back into reality.

Alexander was leaning over me, his face so close that I could feel his warm breath on my skin.

"What... what are you doing?" I stuttered, my heart racing so fast it was hard to breathe.

Alexander’s eyes glimmered with emotions I couldn’t quite understand. His large hand trailed slowly from my cheek down to the back of my neck, and I bit down on the ecstasy of his touch.

Why was I feeling this way around him, even though he always drove me crazy?

"You like this, don’t you?" Alexander teased, and I swallowed hard, my eyes softening under his gaze, wanting more.

"Hmm," I panted in a tone barely audible.

Alexander pulled me closer. My eyes fluttered closed as his scent filled my nostrils. The space between my legs clenched, heat pooling inside me. Why was he making me feel this way?

Suddenly, the sound of his laughter filled my ears, and I snapped my eyes open.

Alexander pulled away, his face full of amusement. "I can’t believe you fell for that. Are all humans this dumb?" His body jerked as he shook his head, chuckling.

I stared into space. Did he just prank me? Damn, I was such a fool. I averted my gaze, clearing my throat. My face burned with embarrassment.

Alexander kept laughing so hard that tears filled his eyes. "You think I want to kiss you? Don’t flatter yourself." His smirk faltered for a split second before he turned away, his tone sharper than necessary

"That’s never going to happen because you disgust me. Weak humans are nothing but trouble." He spat the words out, and they stung.

A pang of pain tugged at my chest because of his harsh words. But what was all this talk about humans, as if he wasn’t one himself?

"Just because you’re stronger than others doesn’t give you the right to look down on them," I said with a straight face.

Alexander got off my bed. "By others, you mean yourself?" He chuckled again, and I bit my lip hard. Why did he take joy in belittling me?

"It’s cute seeing you try to stand up for yourself, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t weak and useless," he scoffed, tucking his hands into his pockets.

I closed my eyes, feeling a wave of anger rise in my chest. I wanted to lash out at him, but he was my boss’s son.

I couldn’t do anything. Plus, he was definitely stronger than me.

"Get out," I groaned, not sparing him a glance.

"Excuse me?" Alexander blinked furiously. "Did you just speak to me like that?"

The more he spoke, the more venomous his words became in my ears.

"What’s the problem, Mr. Callum? You get to talk trash all the time, and I can’t do the same?" I tilted my head, fire burning in my eyes. "Get out, or else I’ll show you what this weak, useless human is capable of."
