Chapter Twenty-Eight
Jax’s hand roamed everywhere, following with soft kisses, checking for anything.
“Are you okay? Did he touch you?” Jax kept asking over and over. His eyebrows furrowed as he took in my outfit, disbelief and.. a bit of disgust on his face.
I shrugged away from him, putting my hand on his chest to put him at bay. “I’m fine. I swear.”
He crushed me to him again, hugging tightly. Planting one last kiss on my forehead, he lets me go. I sneak a glance at Sabine who is watching us intently.
“Where were you just now, Hayley?” She asks, turning her cold green eyes onto me. I think about Autumn and all the creatures in town, how guarded they were against the rest of the world.
