Frost Sorrow....

Taking a deep breath, I played with the large silver key handing around my neck.

I had fun with Prince Victor the previous day and he had been nice enough to spend the morning showing me around some parts of the castle.

The little crossbow shooting lesson he had given me was fun as well, except for the first shot I took to the wall behind the targets.

To be fair, all the younger Prince told me to do was to look at my target before I took the trigger. I had done just that, yet the arrow flew past the targets and hit the wall.

I don't know what the Prince planned to do about the arrow in the wall but he said he would take care of it.

The second shot had been bulls eye because he had helped me set my aim. His grip had supported the heavy crossbow, making it easier for me to look for a target.

After that bull's eye, Prince Victor had asked me if I wanted to take another shot but I had declined.

Pulling the trigger twice had been enough excitement for the day.

Barlion Great....Looking up at the statue of the woman, I let out a heavy sigh. It's almost sunrise and she still hasn't come to the garden.Maybe it's a good thing that she changed her mind about coming. It might not be safe for either of us.So, why do I feel disappointed that she didn't show up."It's time for you to go, Barlion." Uncle Jeremy said as he placed his left hand on my right shoulder. "Don't forget to be alert and don't let your guard down. I'll have someone out there for you but my reach might be limited. I don't want Viper to know you have protection."Nodding my head, I kept my eyes on the woman standing in the middle of the fountain for a few more seconds, wishing that she'd see me off and expect me to be back here tonight, hopefully safe.Walking around the fountain, I stepped over to the back entrance of the castle when I heard her voice."I'm here." Her soft voice reach my ears, sending a lovely trill to run down my spine.Turning around, I saw her steppi

Frost Sorrow...Clenching my hands together to stop them from shaking, I followed after to the rest of the women miner's.Once the men and women were split in to two groups, two guards took the lead. One guard took the men to the left side of the mines and the other guard took the women to the right side.I looked over my shoulder, hoping to catch sight of Prince Barlion at least once before I entered the mines.A tall figure caught my eyes and the miner was looking past his shoulder as well. It was easy to spot Prince Barlion amongst the many men miners as his tall and broad figure can easily stand out.On the other hand, I don't think he can spot me. Covered from heat to toe by the white miners clothes is not the biggest reason why he can't see me. I'm shorter than most of the women around me, causing the to swallow me from outside view.Turning my eyes to the guard in front on the women, I followed through, trying to calm myself as the darkness started to swallow

Lifting up a cloth Arementa had given me, I wiped some of the blood off of Prince Barlion's skin.I didn't dare touch his wound again after I had pressed his top to stop the blood. The Prince had groaned in pain, glaring at me for not warning him before I touched his cut.Arementa had stepped in, taking over the wound. She took one look at the wound and her face wrinkled as if she too could feel his pain.Arementa cleaned his wound and brought out a needle to close the cut. She had mentioned that it would have been better to have a fresh wound.Because when a healing wound is torn with force, it would be ten times worse and painful to close back.Prince Barlion had closed his eyes, clenching his jaw and hands as hard as he could while Arementa closed his cut.Unlike me, Arementa looked like she knew what she was doing. Every close she made was delicate and she sew his skin perfectly.Whenever Prince Barlion would let out a groan, Arementa wasn't fazed, but I was close to passing out.

Barlion Great...Looking at the first Inn owners Frost and I visited, I couldn't stop my anger from rising."What do you mean you've sent in false reports?" I yelled at the man and woman owners of the Inn, unable to contain my anger from rising."We-we had to. We had no other choice..." The man tried to argue but I wasn't hearing any of it."No choice for what?" I yelled out, not worried that my voice would escape through the closed door of the small office."My Lord." Frost's soft voice came from behind me.She pressed her small hand flat against my back, as if to say calm down, before she walked past me and sat down across from the man and woman who own this Inn.While he sudden touch did great to calm me, I was still wildly upset.I had walked into this Inn with a wound that made me want to retreat to the comforts of the main castle in hopes of finding out about these night travelers. I had hopped that I would have enough information to make a valid report after we retur

Frost Sorrow...After I left Prince Barlion in the garden, I went to my temporary chambers.Mirra was there, waiting for me so anxiously. As soon as she saw me, she rushed up to me and pulled me in to a hug."Do you even have any idea how much you worry me?" She'd asked as she pulled away and examined me.There were a few drops of blood on my sleeve and the white Miner's clothes made them easier to find. When Mirra had saw that, she was about to hammer me with question so I quickly explained to her that the Prince was in a little accident and I got his blood on me while I was helping him clean up. Mirra had went on a hissy fit, throwing out a tantrum about how she had thought it was a bad idea for me to join the Prince. The first thing she did after her tantrum was to quickly draw.me a warm bath. I admitted before dropping my hand on my lap."Why do they want to spend the day wit

But even if he was awake, I could tell that he wasn't here with me. Barlion Great...The sight of her made my heart stop. Those frost blue eyes clashed with mine and the air left my lungs. All I wanted to do was run up to her, take her in my arms, feel her... Is she real? She has to be, otherwise I will lose it once and for all. I took a small step in to the dining hall, my eyes still trained on her.The conversation in the dining hall had long stopped and I could feel eyes on me. But I didn't dare look back at any of them. If I did, I was too scared that she might disappear.I watched as Frost slowly stood up and walked over to me. Her steps had no hesitation in them, unlike mine. When Frost and I finally stood before each other, all I needed to do was reach out and touch her to know that she's really here.Frost didn't say anything at first. Her lips were slightly open and she looked like she wanted to say something.Taking a deep breath, I slowly raised my right hand up and cupped her cheek. She's really here. My Frost is really here.My

I walked in to the large library o next morning. The gates towards the other entrance of the library was not open yet so it was empty and quite. I walked through the large shelves before I made it to the sitting area.Just as I thought, I found Victor sitting at one of the large tables, looking straight ahead at the displayed book in a glass."Thought I'd find you here." I commented, drawing Victor's eyes towards me before I walked over and sat next to him.Victor returned his eyes to the book.I stared ahead and pride filled me at the sight of the single book placed in the glass.Anyone who came could look at it, admire it but was not allowed to touch it as it was incomplete."The King's Faceless Wife." Watching the first snow fall alone without Frost made me ache. She'd been excited about the first snow. I'd caught her a few times as she was looking out the window, expecting it to fall any moment before she'd gotten hurt. She didn't even get to see it before she left.I don't know how long we stood by the docks. The chambers fell in silence.I watched as Lord King and Lady Winter shared a look.I looked over to Frost and realized that her eyes were following me with worry. Letting out a sigh, I looked back at Lord King."I want to talk to my wife alone first." It will take a while to get there so we need to take everything." Lord King commented as he looked back at me.I glanced at Sir Hunder and nodded my head. I had no other words. If They are really going to take my wife then they will have everything they need and more for the journey. Sir Hunder bowed his head before he walked out of the chambers. Lord King and Lady Winter followed after him. Mirra was the last to leave Frost and I alone in our chambers. As soon as the door
