“How is she?” I asked as soon as Seth and I got into our mother’s house. “I seen Dominic speed out of here.”
“She needs a blood transfusion,” Mason told me. “Dominic and Aunt Nancy should have left to go get some blood from work.”
“That’s probably why he left like that,” Seth stated, then looked around. “Where are the twins?”
“In the room in the back,” Mason said. “I wanted them in a warm place of the house since we don’t have any blankets.”
“Damn, Trinity bought things for them.” I sighed.
“It’s back at the bar, isn’t it?” Seth asked.
I looked at him and nodded. He sighed before he walked to the back of the house. I stood by Trinity’s body and looked her over. She was not looking so good. Her dress was cut in the middle where her stomach was, and blood stained her flowery dress. Out of all the days, why did she choose to wear this beautiful thing?
Mason checked out the C-section scar on her stomach before his head turned to the monitor, he connected to her. He got up from the couch and wiped his forehead with the sleeve that was not covered in blood. He put his hands on his hips and looked up at the ceiling of the house.
“Do you think this blood transfusion will work?” I asked him, seeing a concerned look on his face.
“It’s going to have to work,” He said. “Since she is human, it’ll take a lot longer for her to break from this coma. The thing that bothers me is the internal bleeding and the damaged organs from the twins.”
“How long does she have?” Seth asked, walking in on our conversation. “Are there other options?”
“The blood transfusion will work, but because she had suffered a lot from the labor alone, it’ll take some time. This doesn’t include the deep unconsciousness she’s in.”
I sighed before my head turned to the front door. I sighed when I saw mom walk into the house, a shameful look on her face. Seth turned and looked at her as well. Right now, I did not see her as our mother. The way Seth was looking at her, he felt the same. Mom walked over to us and stood by Trinity’s body.
“She’s suffered a lot,” Mom said.
“Yeah, she has.” Mason said, turning his attention to the monitor again. “Have you seen your sister?”
“She left with Dominic.” Mom answered.
The front door opened again and this time, it was Dominic and Aunt Nancy. I sighed with relief, happy the two made it in time. Mason clapped his hands together and rushed over to the two, grabbing the pints of blood and the other supplies he needed to do the transfusion.
“Now, I can get to work.” Mason said. “I need this area cleared out, if that’s okay.”
I heard footsteps come into the living room and I looked up to see Jace standing behind Mason.
“Where did you come from?” I asked him, my eyebrow raised, suspiciously.
“Your bathroom,” He answered.
I continued to stare at Jace. I could not figure out why he was here. He was not around Dominic like he should have been. Now, when some shit happens, he wanted to play daddy? Get real. I crossed my arms and turned my head over to my mom, who was staring at him as well. I hope she was not still in love with this joke.
“Dominic isn’t going to want that.” Seth said.
“To be honest, if he wants to see this girl alive, he better put that shit to the side.” Mason said, then turned his head to the left. “I might need you here, Jace.”
“For what?” Jace asked him.
“For that other option.” Seth said.
Shaking my head, I knew that they were not talking about changing Trinity. I glanced over at Dominic, who just stared at Trinity with a blank expression on his face.
“I do not know if this is something I would want,” Dominic said. “If this happens, she’s not only losing her human side. She would have to worry about her father, his family and the other hunters.”
“And let’s not forget, the police.” I said. “That does not even compare to the possibility of her not making it through the transformation.”
“What about the transformation?” Dominic asked us. “I survived it.”
“You’re different,” Aunt Nancy said, standing next to Jace. “It was in your blood. Your body knew this time would come, but it did not know when. However, with Trinity, it’s something that should not happen. She’s human and humans do not always make it through the transformation.”
Dominic shook his head, distraught from this information. I did not blame him, either. Hearing this news makes it hard for people to come up with anything.
“Is she alive, at least?” Jace asked.
“Yeah, for now.” Mason said. “I do not know for how long, though.”
“That’s why you need to learn your other side,” Jace said to Dominic. “Your abilities can help this girl.”
“That’s out,” I said, snapping my eyes at Jace. “He does not have any of those abilities.”
Jace squinted his eyes at me and rolled mines at his. Aunt Nancy could feel the tension between us because she snapped her fingers at me. As much as I could go off on Jace anytime, I listened to my aunt’s warning.
“How can I learn these abilities?” Dominic asked, looking over at Jace.
“You need to let me train you.” Jace said.
“Wait, what?” Mom cut in. “That’s why you’re here, isn’t it?”
Everybody looked over at mom, whose almond eyes burned a hole into Jace’s face.
“You knew it was coming up,” Jace told her. “Do not act surprise.”
“Wait, what’s happening?” I asked.
“What’s the catch for you training me?”
“You would not be around your pack for a few months, nor your family. You will be coming with me to Shreveport.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Janelle shouted. “He has kids now and you’re trying to take him away from them?!”“Janelle….” Aunt Nancy called my sister’s name, trying to calm her down.“No, Aunt Nancy.” Janelle told her. “He just comes out of the blue and just snaps his fingers whenever he wants. I’m sorry, but that’s not happening here.”I turned to Dominic, who was just quiet the whole time. I looked over at our mother, who avoided everybody’s eyes at the moment. I wonder if she knew about this?“I take it you knew about this?” I asked her.She turned her eyes over to me and sighed. Janelle huffed and walked off. Just like the rest of us, she was tired of my mother at that moment. I was happy Janelle and I did not stay with her anymore.“This was a plan your mother and I made before we parted ways.” Jace told Dominic.
The pack members ended up leaving, but I was not ready for this night to end. The blood moon was still out, but it was not as dark red as it was before. I wanted to drink and since Janelle went to the bar, I decided that I would head that way as well.“Damn,” I sighed, realizing my car was still at the entrance of the Bayou.I sighed and begun walking to where my car was, avoiding the swamp water as I walked. My pants were wet already from rushing to stop Dominic from destroying his mother. That shit was crazy. I pushed through the bushes, getting closer to my SUV. I sighed, thinking about the shit that went down today. My mind went back to Dominic as well. He needs to learn how to control that wolf if he wanted to be with us. That wolf, though. He brought out a bad vib
It was a long ride, but Nicole finally got us to Shreveport. She parked the car and we all got out. Dominic stared at the House of Blood like he had not seen a huge mansion a day of his life. Nicole chuckled before she walked ahead of us. I stood next to Dominic and put my arm around him.“I take it you never seen a big mansion before?” I asked him.“I wasn’t expecting you guys staying here.” He said. “It looks so…”“Normal?”He glanced at me and nodded his head. Wolves and vampires think different once it comes to living arrangements. Wolves prefer an open field for them to run around in and us vampires prefer to live like celebrities. A big ass beige-color mansion with over thirty tinted windows, inside of a black gate that electrocutes anybody that comes up to it without our permission. I pulled Dominic along, towards the mansion.“Nervous?” I asked him.“Shoul
I woke up, nice and relaxed from last night. I could not believe Seth and I hooked up last night. Sometimes, I thought it was a dream, but smelling his amazing scent on my sheets let me know that it was the truth. It really happened. As I slowly got out of bed, the wonderful smell of breakfast filled my nose. My mouth watered and my stomach growled as I got dressed. I threw on a blank white tank top with no bra and some denim shorts. Once I finished eating breakfast, I was going to hop in the shower and go to work.I proceeded out the room, ready to eat. I strolled to the kitchen and seen Kilan and Seth eating already. Kilan’s eyes glistened when he looked up at me with love. He got down from the chair and ran to me, squealing with excitement. I picked him up before turning my eyes to Seth.“I have to go to the pack today,” Seth said as he finished his last bit of food of his plate. “Will you be okay with him?”I tilted my head and
Today was not a good day at all for me. I was getting calls from New Orleans from the family about how the treaty was broken because of the shit between Trinity and Dominic. I tried to call Trinity’s phone, but it went straight to voicemail. That shit had me worried completely. Finding out that my daughter had a kid with one of these fucking wolves, bothered me. I knew I should have told her about them before she left.“Dad?” Ember called my name.I was in my home office today, so I was home with the family. I turned around and glanced over at Ember, who was still in her PJs.“Good morning, honey.” I said to her.“Good morning.” She said. “Mom wanted me to come get you to let you know that breakfast is done.”“I’ll be there in a few.”She nodded and walked off. I sighed and got up from my chair, stretching before I proceeded out the office. My phone rang in my pocket as
A week had not went by yet and I was getting worked. Jace was on my back every second for these past couple of day. But, it did not stop there. Today, Jace and I were in a room way in the back of the mansion. Whatever we was doing, I could not focus on it. I was already missing my family, Triniti and the kids included. I wonder how the babies were doing?“Clear your mind.” I heard Jace tell me from behind. “You won’t get anywhere with a clouded head.”“I can’t stop thinking about them.” I told him.“You’ll be able to see them soon. Now, get this done.”I nodded my head and closed my eyes. I needed to look past Anubis. I needed to look deeper.“How can I call him if I don’t know him by name?” I asked my father.“He’ll tell you. Don’t worry about the name, though. You need to find him.”I heard shuffling and my eyes snapped open.
After work today, I had decided to go visit the kids. I had to visit the pack, anyways. I made it to the Bayou and parked the car in front of mom’s house. It was a lot of tension here since that night. Mom was distant and Seth and I kept our distance away from her. We focused mainly on our pack and we only came by to visit the twins and Trinity. Other than that, there was not a real conversation we would have with her. I got out the car and walked over to the front door. I seen Seth and Dante with everyone from the pack a few houses down. As I turned my attention back to mom’s house, I saw that she was waiting for me at the door. She gave me a small smile, however, one was not returned to her. She was not getting that from me at all. She did our brother foul and I could not believe she had all of us fooled. She opened the door wide and I j
Once Janelle and London were gone, we were able to get down to some real business. First, I decided to give Dominic a call. We had not heard from him. The phone he had was not picking up at all. It would always go to voicemail and that worried me.“Trying to get in contact with Dominic?” Dante asked me.“Yeah,” I told him. “I’m trying to see if he’s good and tell him what’s going on.”“Try him telepathically.” “Would it work since he’s far away from us?”“Can’t hurt to try.”I decided to let Malachi do that. That ability was not mines; it was my wolf’s.
My eyes were wandering all over the place. They kept going from Triniti to Callighan. As much as I wanted to put my daughter down for messing with an enemy, I just could not do it. When Callighan shot her arm off, the anger I had towards her shifted. I looked at Ember, who stared at Triniti with sadness. She was caught off guard like I was.
Mr. Callighan scared me, still. Dominic was nowhere to be seen and the other packs were fighting on the other side of the Bayou. I held Ember’s hand as I pulled her away from that fucking psychopath. He glanced at me and Ember with excitement. “I don’t have one Moore, I got two.” He said. “What a fucking bargain deal.” He got closer to us and we’d move backwards to distance the pace. I heard a groan
Janelle nor Ms. Greyson has not came back yet. Neither had Triniti. I could feel that something was wrong in the air. A feeling I only got when someone very close was hurt. I paced back and forth in the living room, waiting for somebody to come and tell me that everything was fine and that the war had ended. The shit was getting out of hand and I wish I had the strength to get the war to end. However, Eric was persistent and childish. He was mad over something he had no control over and I could not believe he would even start that shit. I placed my hand on the bandaged area. That bullet was killing me, so I ended up removing it myself since Janelle had left. T
I heard them and my wolf was mad. I stopped fighting my uncle and turned the opposite way. There’s no fucking way, I thought to myself. I ended up, going to where Janelle was. There’s no fucking way, I kept thinking. Kai: Please be okay… As I charged to the area, I heard another gun go off in the same area. I
I was able to gain a tiny bit of energy back, but it was not enough to shift. My wolf was gone, at the moment. I looked up and saw that Erika was gone, which was good. I was angry that she came because she would have never gotten shot by Eric. I turned around and tried getting up, dizziness hitting me hard. “Seth, get up!” Jace shouted as he continued to fight Eric. “My wolf is gone!” I shouted to him as I walked ov
There were so many of them. Eric wanted to make sure he was backed up by many. The Bayou was covered in fucking blood and dead bodies. Wolf members and officers laid lifeless on the ground. There were wolves that lived, but lost their wolf due to the tranquilizer dart that Eric’s officers were shooting us with. That shit was terrible and we were losing a lot of good wolves behind it.&
Yessss… Are you finally calling me out? It took you a minute, but I can’t complain. You have gotten the strength to bring me out. I wonder, were you able to bring that bastard of a wolf out as well? Anubis: Fuck you, you damn bloodsucker. You’re so lucky that stupid son of a bitch subdued me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have allowed your bitch ass to be called out.&nbs
We moved a little faster than planned. My police officers and the officers all around Louisiana were getting anxious. They wanted war to happen now. As much as I wanted it to happen, doing it during the day was not a good time for me. I wanted it at night, when they were mostly active. Once nightfall hit, we took action. Guns were going off, wolves were growling as they launched at my officers. It was beginning to be too much. The wolves that tried to come after me, got nowhere. They were all getting shot with a special dart that Amanda made for us. The dart drained them, physically, subduing their wolves in the process. They won’t be able to shift for a
“Dominic..” I sobbed as soon as I saw Dominic laid out on the bed.I had never cried for a guy before, but when I saw the way he looked, I could not help it. It felt like I lost him, even though his father was told to get him up. I sat on the bed, wiping the tears from my eyes. He looked awful and he smelled like a corpse at the moment. I was not tripping about that at all, I was hurt that he was killed this way. He had a deep gash in his stomach. His head was turned awkward like his neck was snapped. I held the kids close to me, trying to comfort them and to make myself feel better. That was too much for me to witness.
