My body slammed against the tree as hard as it could. Blood sprayed from my mouth and I swear a bone had cracked.
“Stop it, Jace!” I heard my mom shout at that son of a bitch. “You’re going to kill him!”
How did she know this fucking bastard? As I got back up, I realized that I was able to control a little bit of movements once more, but Anubis was still around. Boy, was he heated from the powerful force this guy had used against us.
“Tame.” Jace said again, ignoring my mother’s pleading request.
Anubis’ whimpers filled my head and I could not have felt worse for my wolf.
“I need to tame you.” I told him in my mind.
Anubis: Never…. I will never let you tame me….
Anubis, who was still in control of some of my movements, forced me to charge at Jace.
“You just don’t learn Anubis.” Jace said. “If I hit you again, you will be put back.”
Anubis: Fuck you, Jace!
Once near him, I began attacking him as much as I could, but this dude was good. He had dodged every one of my attacks, but he would come back with a punch of his own. Each blow that connected to me did a lot of damage and the one hit that connected to my stomach did the most. I heard more footsteps coming as I bent over, gagging. I felt like I was going to throw up and everything.
“So, nobody is going to stop this?” I heard London ask.
“Shut up, London!” Seth shouted, coming over to everybody as well. “Come on, Dominic!”
Anubis: I don’t want nobody to tame me!
Hearing my wolf say that, I can understand because that’s exactly what I felt when I was in the pack. I didn’t want to follow anybody’s rules. I wanted to be my own person and have my own rules, so hearing him say that to me, I could understand. But, if I did not tame him, what would I do with him? He’d be a disobedient wolf that I would not be able to bring out because of his lust for true control.
“Dominic!” Jace shouted at me.
“We need to do something.” I whispered to Anubis. “If we can’t, this dude will fucking kill us.”
Anubis: Nobody said Jace was a weak vampire. To be honest, I don’t think I have any more strength to fight him. If your lazy ass vampire side woke up, this could’ve all been avoided.
I sat up, completely confused. What did he mean by my vampire side? I’m only a werewolf, I’m not a vampire. I never been one and I will never be one.
Anubis: You mean, you never found out? Wow, your mom needs to tell you the truth then.
The pain in my stomach subsided and I leaned back up, but I turned my attention to my mother.
“I need you to go back, Anubis.” I whispered to him, my eyes still on my mother.
Anubis: Fuck no! Don’t start telling me what to do just because we had one small conversation.
“Please?” I asked him. “We need to talk later or something about this because if this continues, you and I will never have a good relationship.”
Anubis growled and a second later, my wolf form disappeared. I could never be any happier, but the night wasn’t over. I needed answers and I needed answers now. I was back to my human form and I could never feel any better. I looked between my mom and Jace, trying to put two and two together. Why did this motherfucker come to help my mom? Vampires and wolves do not get along, so we stay clear of one another. But Jace, he’s a different one. He came to my mother’s aide and that’s very unusual.
“He calmed down.” Dante said as he shifted back into his regular form.
“Dom?” Seth called my name.
I ignored him, my eyes were glued to my mother and she stared back at me with complete sadness. Knowing that she knew what the true cause of me not being able to shift hurts, but it irritated me more than anything.
“Dom-.” Mom started talking, but I shut that shit down with the wave of my finger.
This hurt me because I know they all knew about it. My family, the people I thought I could trust, hid this information from me and I had to hear it from my own fucking wolf.
“Dominic, let me explain please.” Mom begged.
“I take it he doesn’t know what he is?” Jace asked, turning his attention to my mother. “I told you to tell him.”
“What does it have to do with you?!” I shouted at Jace, glaring at him and my mother. “And how do you know my fucking name?!”
“Well, isn’t this a fucking surprise.” I heard my Aunt Nancy say as she walked over to join us with Janelle by her side.
“Where’s Trinity?” Seth asked.
“Mason is attending to her.” Janelle answered. “We had to take her to the house because of high chances of infection.”
“She’s in a coma.” Aunt Nancy said with her hands on her hip. “You need to be by her side.”
I looked at her and nodded before turning back to mom and Jace.
“Since everybody is here, now is the time to tell him, Niecy.” Aunt Nancy told my mom. “He’s going to be mad, but at least you told him.”
I crossed my arms in front of my chest, glaring at my mother still. I wanted to know everything she had to tell because this shit is fucking crazy.
“What am I?” I asked her.
She hesitated; a heavy sigh escaped her lips as she turned her attention to the ground.
“You’re not fully a wolf, Dominic.” She finally said. “You’re actually part vampire as well.”
“Wow!” I shouted, causing her to jump. “Just fucking wow, mom!"
“Calm down, Dominic.” Seth told me and my head snapped his way, angry with his ass as well. “She didn’t know how to tell you.”
“How to fucking tell me?!!” I screamed at him. “ALL THIS TIME, I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING FUCKING WRONG WITH ME AND YOU MOTHERFUCKERS KNEW THIS WHOLE FUCKING TIME!!!”
My blood was boiling hot. I was beyond mad, but no matter how loud I got nobody said nothing. I groaned with irritation before directing my attention to Jace.
“And who the hell are you?!” I shouted at him.
“He’s your…” Mom started and again I shut her up.
“Fuck you!” I shouted at her. “I’m done talking to you!”
“Dominic, watch your mouth!” Dante shouted at me. “Regardless of how mad you are, you don’t disrespect the mother who birthed and raised you!”
“To be honest, he has the right to be mad.” Aunt Nancy said, stepping up to the side of me.
“You shut your mouth, Nancy, and stay the fuck out of this!” Mom shouted.
“Why, you might as well lay it all on the fucking table.” She said.
“What are you talking about?” Janelle asked her. “Seth, what’s going on?”
Aunt Nancy stood in between us, turning her attention to me. “You weren’t raised by your mother, Dom. Your mother didn’t want anything to do with you because of the fact of what you were.”
“That’s not fucking true!” Mom shouted. “I loved my children more than anything, Nancy!”
“Yeah, you loved Seth and Janelle.” Aunt Nancy corrected her.
“That’s not true.” Seth said, getting closer to me. “We were all kept together.”
“That’s because I made you guys close.” Aunt Nancy stated the facts. “If I didn’t, you guys and Dominic wouldn’t even be this close.”
Mom didn’t say anything else after that, which meant that Aunt Nancy was stating true facts. She looked at me with nothing but sadness. Even Jace looked over at her like the fuck. I nodded my head, keeping the tears that clouded my eyes from falling down my face.
“I know this isn’t true, mother.” Seth said, turning his attention to mom. “Because you don’t have nobody to blame, but yourself.”
“I know.” Mom agreed with Seth. “And I feel bad about it.”
Lifting my head up to the sky, I blinked the tears away as quickly as I could. This shit was getting to be too much for me. I just wanted to leave, go my own separate way. However, I couldn't do that with a new pack I had just created. One thing I won’t do is leave people behind, I’ll become better than the people who thought so little of me. I looked over at Jace, who turned his attention back to me.
“So, what are you to me?” I asked him, not giving a damn. “Are we even family or you just someone who knows this fucked up family.”
“He’s the guy who created you, Dom.” Janelle said.
I chuckled before I turned and walked off. I didn’t need to be around this shit. This was too much and it was also giving me a migraine just gaining all this new information. As I headed back to the area where James’ body laid, I seen that Triniti was nowhere around. I looked down at the ground where she was and all I could see was her blood on the grass.
This scene alone caused me to panic because since everything that was going on, she was not on my mind like she should have been. I heard rustling behind me, and I turned to see Jace headed my way.
“What do you want?” I asked him, not happy to see his face. “You came to tell me not to be mad at my mother and shit like that?”
“Not at all.” He said and I just shook my head before looking around to find out where Trinity went. “She’s at your mom house.”
I turned to him and he tilted his head in the direction of where I needed to go. Sighing, we both headed over to the house. The walk there was inaudible since there was nothing for us to talk about. I just found out this dude was my father and as much as I wanted to grill him about being absent, that was going to have to wait. As we got closer to my mom’s house, a sound came from inside that caused both of us to stop walking.
“You hear that?” I asked him.
“Yeah, I do.” He told me.
I had to hear it one more time to make sure that my suspicions were right. “Wahhhh!” The noise came again, but louder this time from my house. I swear my heart skipped a beat when I recognized the constant cries coming from inside.
“Let’s go.” Jace said and without hesitation, the both of us rushed to the house.
I walked into the house and saw Triniti on the couch, being sewed up by Mason. My head turned to both sides, wondering where the kids are. I heard their cries coming from the back room.
“Holy shit,” I gasped. “They’re alive?”
“Why wouldn’t they be?” Mason asked, his eyes squinted at me.
“Because you touched them.”
Mason and Jace chuckled and I stared at the two, wondering what was funny.
“That curse that is supposed to be upon the wolves?” Jace asked. “It’s only for other male wolves. It’s not for humans or vampires.”
“Oh.”
My attention turned to Triniti, laid out on the couch. Her dress was covered in blood and there was a huge cut where her stomach was. There was a monitor that connected to her, making sure everything was straight.
“How is she?” I asked Mason.
“She’s stable, but she had lost a lot of blood from the twins.” Mason sighed. “She’s going to need blood if she wants to survive this.”
“How long?” Jace asked.
“Two hours, top.” Mason told me. “So, I suggest you tell your Aunt.”
“I’ll be here,” Jace said. “Go ahead and handle your business, but when you get back, we need to talk.”
I nodded before I turned and rushed out the house. I saw Janelle and Seth headed this way with the rest of the pack members, but I did not stop to communicate with them. Instead, I rushed over to where I heard Aunt Nancy and mom, shouting at each other.
“IT DOES NOT FUCKING MATTER, NANCY!!” Mom shouted at Aunt Nancy. “YOU LIKE RUNNING YOUR MOUTH! I THOUGHT I COULD TRUST YOU!”
I stopped running and walked to the two women. Aunt Nancy and mom looked at me, waiting for me to say something.
“He’s here,” Aunt Nancy said to my mom. “Now, tell him if you feel so damn bad about it.”
I looked at my mother, waiting to hear what she wanted to tell me. I did not have anything to say to her, but I’m not going to stop her from telling me what was on her mind.
“Dominic,” Mom said. “I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am. At the time, I didn’t know what I was thinking. I was so tired of being judged by everybody in this pack.”
“You know,” I said to her. “To be honest, I would stay here and chat with you, but I have a family that needs me.”
The look on her face said it all, she was upset. I do not understand why since this was her fault to begin with. I loved the hell out of my mom, but right now, my love for her has ceased. I directed my attention over to my Aunt, who was staring at me the whole time.
“Mason says Triniti needs a blood transfusion,” I said.
“Okay, let’s go,” Aunt Nancy said. “Go check on your grandkids, Niecy.”
Mom did not say anything. She looked at her sister before she walked away from the both of us. I watched my mother disappear before I turned my attention over to Aunt Nancy.
“I understand you’re mad at your mother,” She stated. “But she is still the one who birthed you. Show some respect, Nephew.”
“I’ll try,” I said. “It’s not going to be easy.”
“You did it before.”
“Yeah, but even that was hard since I noticed the attitude, she carried every time we spoke.”
She put her arm around me, and we walked back to the house.
“We’ll take Mason’s truck.” She said.
“Wait!” I heard London shout behind us.
Aunt Nancy looked at me before she removed her arm from around me and walked off. I sighed before I turned to London. She stood in front of me and we just stared at each other for the longest time.
“What am I supposed to do?” She asked me.
“What do you mean?” I asked her.
“I need a pack now. You killed off everybody from the McCallan pack.”
My arms crossed in front of my chest once again. I would add her to the pack, but the way her and Trinity do not get along, I’m not sure that’s a good idea.
“Let me in your pack.” She begged me.
“No, my girl doesn’t like you.” I told her. “You and her have problems every time you guys see each other.”
“I promise, my feelings for you are no longer there. Please, I don’t want to be by myself.”
I looked at her and she stared at me with pleading eyes. She was my best friend, so how could I say no?
“Fine, but I have to talk to Seth and Dante about it.” I told her. “Do you have a place to stay?”
“Yes, I do. I’ll be at my parents.”
“I’ll let you know what’s up. Go home for now.”
She turned and walked off. When she disappeared, I continued towards Mason’s truck, where my Aunt Nancy was.
“How is she?” I asked as soon as Seth and I got into our mother’s house. “I seen Dominic speed out of here.”“She needs a blood transfusion,” Mason told me. “Dominic and Aunt Nancy should have left to go get some blood from work.”“That’s probably why he left like that,” Seth stated, then looked around. “Where are the twins?”“In the room in the back,” Mason said. “I wanted them in a warm place of the house since we don’t have any blankets.”“Damn, Trinity bought things for them.” I sighed.“It’s back at the bar, isn’t it?” Seth asked.I looked at him and nodded. He sighed before he walked to the back of the house. I stood by Trinity’s body and looked her over. She was not looking so good. Her dress was cut in the middle where her stomach was, and blood stained her flowery dress. Out of a
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Janelle shouted. “He has kids now and you’re trying to take him away from them?!”“Janelle….” Aunt Nancy called my sister’s name, trying to calm her down.“No, Aunt Nancy.” Janelle told her. “He just comes out of the blue and just snaps his fingers whenever he wants. I’m sorry, but that’s not happening here.”I turned to Dominic, who was just quiet the whole time. I looked over at our mother, who avoided everybody’s eyes at the moment. I wonder if she knew about this?“I take it you knew about this?” I asked her.She turned her eyes over to me and sighed. Janelle huffed and walked off. Just like the rest of us, she was tired of my mother at that moment. I was happy Janelle and I did not stay with her anymore.“This was a plan your mother and I made before we parted ways.” Jace told Dominic.
The pack members ended up leaving, but I was not ready for this night to end. The blood moon was still out, but it was not as dark red as it was before. I wanted to drink and since Janelle went to the bar, I decided that I would head that way as well.“Damn,” I sighed, realizing my car was still at the entrance of the Bayou.I sighed and begun walking to where my car was, avoiding the swamp water as I walked. My pants were wet already from rushing to stop Dominic from destroying his mother. That shit was crazy. I pushed through the bushes, getting closer to my SUV. I sighed, thinking about the shit that went down today. My mind went back to Dominic as well. He needs to learn how to control that wolf if he wanted to be with us. That wolf, though. He brought out a bad vib
It was a long ride, but Nicole finally got us to Shreveport. She parked the car and we all got out. Dominic stared at the House of Blood like he had not seen a huge mansion a day of his life. Nicole chuckled before she walked ahead of us. I stood next to Dominic and put my arm around him.“I take it you never seen a big mansion before?” I asked him.“I wasn’t expecting you guys staying here.” He said. “It looks so…”“Normal?”He glanced at me and nodded his head. Wolves and vampires think different once it comes to living arrangements. Wolves prefer an open field for them to run around in and us vampires prefer to live like celebrities. A big ass beige-color mansion with over thirty tinted windows, inside of a black gate that electrocutes anybody that comes up to it without our permission. I pulled Dominic along, towards the mansion.“Nervous?” I asked him.“Shoul
I woke up, nice and relaxed from last night. I could not believe Seth and I hooked up last night. Sometimes, I thought it was a dream, but smelling his amazing scent on my sheets let me know that it was the truth. It really happened. As I slowly got out of bed, the wonderful smell of breakfast filled my nose. My mouth watered and my stomach growled as I got dressed. I threw on a blank white tank top with no bra and some denim shorts. Once I finished eating breakfast, I was going to hop in the shower and go to work.I proceeded out the room, ready to eat. I strolled to the kitchen and seen Kilan and Seth eating already. Kilan’s eyes glistened when he looked up at me with love. He got down from the chair and ran to me, squealing with excitement. I picked him up before turning my eyes to Seth.“I have to go to the pack today,” Seth said as he finished his last bit of food of his plate. “Will you be okay with him?”I tilted my head and
Today was not a good day at all for me. I was getting calls from New Orleans from the family about how the treaty was broken because of the shit between Trinity and Dominic. I tried to call Trinity’s phone, but it went straight to voicemail. That shit had me worried completely. Finding out that my daughter had a kid with one of these fucking wolves, bothered me. I knew I should have told her about them before she left.“Dad?” Ember called my name.I was in my home office today, so I was home with the family. I turned around and glanced over at Ember, who was still in her PJs.“Good morning, honey.” I said to her.“Good morning.” She said. “Mom wanted me to come get you to let you know that breakfast is done.”“I’ll be there in a few.”She nodded and walked off. I sighed and got up from my chair, stretching before I proceeded out the office. My phone rang in my pocket as
A week had not went by yet and I was getting worked. Jace was on my back every second for these past couple of day. But, it did not stop there. Today, Jace and I were in a room way in the back of the mansion. Whatever we was doing, I could not focus on it. I was already missing my family, Triniti and the kids included. I wonder how the babies were doing?“Clear your mind.” I heard Jace tell me from behind. “You won’t get anywhere with a clouded head.”“I can’t stop thinking about them.” I told him.“You’ll be able to see them soon. Now, get this done.”I nodded my head and closed my eyes. I needed to look past Anubis. I needed to look deeper.“How can I call him if I don’t know him by name?” I asked my father.“He’ll tell you. Don’t worry about the name, though. You need to find him.”I heard shuffling and my eyes snapped open.
After work today, I had decided to go visit the kids. I had to visit the pack, anyways. I made it to the Bayou and parked the car in front of mom’s house. It was a lot of tension here since that night. Mom was distant and Seth and I kept our distance away from her. We focused mainly on our pack and we only came by to visit the twins and Trinity. Other than that, there was not a real conversation we would have with her. I got out the car and walked over to the front door. I seen Seth and Dante with everyone from the pack a few houses down. As I turned my attention back to mom’s house, I saw that she was waiting for me at the door. She gave me a small smile, however, one was not returned to her. She was not getting that from me at all. She did our brother foul and I could not believe she had all of us fooled. She opened the door wide and I j
My eyes were wandering all over the place. They kept going from Triniti to Callighan. As much as I wanted to put my daughter down for messing with an enemy, I just could not do it. When Callighan shot her arm off, the anger I had towards her shifted. I looked at Ember, who stared at Triniti with sadness. She was caught off guard like I was.
Mr. Callighan scared me, still. Dominic was nowhere to be seen and the other packs were fighting on the other side of the Bayou. I held Ember’s hand as I pulled her away from that fucking psychopath. He glanced at me and Ember with excitement. “I don’t have one Moore, I got two.” He said. “What a fucking bargain deal.” He got closer to us and we’d move backwards to distance the pace. I heard a groan
Janelle nor Ms. Greyson has not came back yet. Neither had Triniti. I could feel that something was wrong in the air. A feeling I only got when someone very close was hurt. I paced back and forth in the living room, waiting for somebody to come and tell me that everything was fine and that the war had ended. The shit was getting out of hand and I wish I had the strength to get the war to end. However, Eric was persistent and childish. He was mad over something he had no control over and I could not believe he would even start that shit. I placed my hand on the bandaged area. That bullet was killing me, so I ended up removing it myself since Janelle had left. T
I heard them and my wolf was mad. I stopped fighting my uncle and turned the opposite way. There’s no fucking way, I thought to myself. I ended up, going to where Janelle was. There’s no fucking way, I kept thinking. Kai: Please be okay… As I charged to the area, I heard another gun go off in the same area. I
I was able to gain a tiny bit of energy back, but it was not enough to shift. My wolf was gone, at the moment. I looked up and saw that Erika was gone, which was good. I was angry that she came because she would have never gotten shot by Eric. I turned around and tried getting up, dizziness hitting me hard. “Seth, get up!” Jace shouted as he continued to fight Eric. “My wolf is gone!” I shouted to him as I walked ov
There were so many of them. Eric wanted to make sure he was backed up by many. The Bayou was covered in fucking blood and dead bodies. Wolf members and officers laid lifeless on the ground. There were wolves that lived, but lost their wolf due to the tranquilizer dart that Eric’s officers were shooting us with. That shit was terrible and we were losing a lot of good wolves behind it.&
Yessss… Are you finally calling me out? It took you a minute, but I can’t complain. You have gotten the strength to bring me out. I wonder, were you able to bring that bastard of a wolf out as well? Anubis: Fuck you, you damn bloodsucker. You’re so lucky that stupid son of a bitch subdued me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have allowed your bitch ass to be called out.&nbs
We moved a little faster than planned. My police officers and the officers all around Louisiana were getting anxious. They wanted war to happen now. As much as I wanted it to happen, doing it during the day was not a good time for me. I wanted it at night, when they were mostly active. Once nightfall hit, we took action. Guns were going off, wolves were growling as they launched at my officers. It was beginning to be too much. The wolves that tried to come after me, got nowhere. They were all getting shot with a special dart that Amanda made for us. The dart drained them, physically, subduing their wolves in the process. They won’t be able to shift for a
“Dominic..” I sobbed as soon as I saw Dominic laid out on the bed.I had never cried for a guy before, but when I saw the way he looked, I could not help it. It felt like I lost him, even though his father was told to get him up. I sat on the bed, wiping the tears from my eyes. He looked awful and he smelled like a corpse at the moment. I was not tripping about that at all, I was hurt that he was killed this way. He had a deep gash in his stomach. His head was turned awkward like his neck was snapped. I held the kids close to me, trying to comfort them and to make myself feel better. That was too much for me to witness.
