It was a long ride, but Nicole finally got us to Shreveport. She parked the car and we all got out. Dominic stared at the House of Blood like he had not seen a huge mansion a day of his life. Nicole chuckled before she walked ahead of us. I stood next to Dominic and put my arm around him.
“I take it you never seen a big mansion before?” I asked him.
“I wasn’t expecting you guys staying here.” He said. “It looks so…”
“Normal?”
He glanced at me and nodded his head. Wolves and vampires think different once it comes to living arrangements. Wolves prefer an open field for them to run around in and us vampires prefer to live like celebrities. A big ass beige-color mansion with over thirty tinted windows, inside of a black gate that electrocutes anybody that comes up to it without our permission. I pulled Dominic along, towards the mansion.
“Nervous?” I asked him.
“Should I be?” He asked me. “I’m not a fan of vampires ever since Grimm tried to attack my girlfriend.”
So, that’s where he went that night. I sighed and shook my head. I was going to have some words with his insane ass.
“Is he here?” Dominic asked me.
“Of course, he is; he’s your uncle.”
Dominic stopped walking and moved away from me.
“Grimm is my fucking uncle?!” He shouted.
I laughed and nodded my head. He huffed and walked faster to the house. I knew he wanted to fight him, but Grimm is a lot stronger than him. So, while I was there, him and Grimm fighting was a negative until I felt Dominic was ready. We got to the stairs of the mansion and Nicole had already gone into the place. She held the door open for Dominic and me. We rushed up the stairs and I placed my hand on the door, so she could go in first. Dominic walked in and I followed right behind him, letting the big black wooden door shut behind me. I waved my hand, forcing the door to lock on its own.
Nicole and I stopped walking, so Dominic could get a feel of this place. The wall had fire burning on a torch. This fire has been burning for many years now and the torch never burns. The walls were painted a dark chocolate brown color. The tiled floor was a black color with spots of white on each tile. We were in the front area of the house. So, we had two stairs that were across from each other. One on the farther left and one on the farther right. They both led up the same way to the second floor where the rooms and offices were. In between the stairs, is another black door. That door leads to the main room, where all the vampires gather. We like to chat and eat together.
“You ready?” I asked Dominic as Nicole and I walked over to the door.
“I guess.” I told him.
“Don’t worry; nobody will fuck with you.” Nicole said. “Once they find out he’s your father, they’ll back up.”
Dominic did not say anything; he just nodded his head. I waved my hand once more and the rock music we did not hear from the outside, burst through as soon as I opened the door. Vampires were laughing and feeding, having a good ass time. Vamps were filling their glass mugs with blood from the blood fountain that was sitting in the middle of the floor. The smell of iron filled the room as we walked in.
Once it came to our lifestyle, we did not have rules. We were so focused on power and blood; we did not deal with anybody in the outside world.
“Wow, it’s lit in here!” Dominic shouted at me. “Is this an everyday thing?”
People stared at Dominic like he was an enemy until I turned my attention to them. Once they seen me staring back at them, they went back to enjoying their day. I was one of the higher ups within the vampire community. Everybody knew who I was and that I was the most feared. As we ascended through the big room, I seen Grimm coming towards us. My eyes immediately turned to Dominic, who growled when his eyes landed on Grimm.
“You found him?” Grimm asked, smirking at Dominic. “Hello, Nephew.”
“Fuck you.” Dominic growled at him. “You’re lucky I don’t fight you now.”
Grimm raised an eyebrow at me, and I tilted my head at him. He acted like he did not know why Dominic was acting like this.
“Toughen up first, then you can fight me.” Grimm told Dominic. “Until then, shut the fuck up.”
Grimm patted me on the shoulder before he walked off. Dominic huffed and walked ahead of Nicole and I. Nicole looked at me and smiled. I grabbed her hand as we walked behind Dominic. We needed to get to the room behind the main hall, which was where the vampire council were.
“Dad!” I heard someone shout behind me. “Where are you going?!”
Nicole and I stopped walking this time and turned around to our daughter, Lithia. She stood in front of us, pushing her blonde to the back of her. Dominic came back and stood next to us. Lithia looked at Dominic with confusion written on her face.
“Lithia, this is Dominic.” Nicole introduced the two. “He’s your half-brother.”
“Half-brother?” Dominic asked. “You had another child?”
“Yes, I did.” I glanced at Dominic. “She’s your younger sister.”
“But, he’s a wolf.” Lithia stated.
“He’s actually a hybrid.” I corrected her.
“So, wolf and vampire? Only you, dad.”
Lithia continued to stare at Dominic.
“Anyways, I guess that’s why the council told me to come get you guys.” Lithia said. “They expected you to bring him?”
“Yes, your grandfather wanted me to bring him in.” I told her. “They want to talk to him and shit.”
“Ha, well good luck, Dominic. Our grandfather is an asshole, sometimes. Like our father, for instance.”
“Mutual feelings.” Dominic said.
They both laughed before Lithia walked off. I looked over at Dominic and seen him staring at Lithia. I punched him in the chest, and he glared at me.
“That’s out.” I told him. “No mating with family.”
“Well, I know you guys don’t follow rules.” Dominic smirked at me. “Besides. I was not going to mess with her. Remember, I have someone.”
“Yes, I know.”
“Hey, I’m going to the room for a bit.” Nicole told us. “Let me know what the council say, okay?”
“Of course.”
She tried to walk away, but I pulled her back to me. I hated when we parted. She pressed her nose against mines before our lips met. I wrapped my arms around her, waiting to make love to her.
“Later,” She whispered to me.
I nodded as she pulled away from me and walked off. I turned to Dominic, who was looking at the mingling vampires around him.
“You’ll be able to join them once you we work with you.” I told him.
He turned to me and nodded. I tilted my head in the direction of the council room and he walked ahead with me right behind him. The door that we got close to was a different color. It was a red color, which was the only red door that was in the mansion. The council wanted the door to be different, so the vampires would not get confused. Dominic stopped once we got to the door. I grabbed the handle and opened it. Dominic looked at me before he walked in first. I looked around the main room before I walked in as well.
In the council room, there was about three council members, including my father. They sat behind a large desk that was enough to fit all three of them without crowding. My father sat in the middle of the desk and stared at me before his eyes traveled over to Dominic.
“You came back.” Dad said as we got to the desk. “And you brought Dominic.”
“Of course.” I told him.
“So, you slept with an enemy?” A redhead council member by the name of Janice, asked me with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes, ma’am.” I said, not afraid to admit it to them.
“Why is he here?” The last council member, Derek, asked. “There’s no wolves allowed here.”
“He’s not just a wolf,” I told them. “He has my blood flowing through him as well.”
“Yes, he does.” Dad said, then turned to his council members. “He told me he wanted us to meet him because he wants to be able to help his son with his vampiric side.”
“If it was hard for him to shift into his wolf, what makes you think he would have an easier time with tapping into our side?” Janice asked. “Who will help him?”
“Of course, I will.” I told her. “And of course, Grimm will.”
Dominic huffed and I seen my father staring at him.
“You have something to say?” He asked him.
“No, Sir.” Dominic said. “I just had something in my throat when you said Grimm.”
“I take it he’s met your brother?” Dad asked me and I nodded. “When was this?”
“When my girl was a month pregnant.” Dominic said. “Grimm was trying to attack her.”
“So, you’re the one that broke the treaty?” Derek asked him.
“Yes, I did.” I told them.
“You know that was a dumb thing, right?” My dad asked him. “It was to protect the people like your precious girlfriend.”
“I’ll protect her and our kids.”
“Speaking of the kids, what are they?” Dad asked me.
“One for each trait.” I told him. “The girl carries both human and vampire traits. The boy is only the wolf trait.”
"They did not say anything. I felt the same way when I noticed what they were.
“They didn’t attack each other while they were in the womb?” Dad asked Dominic.
“No.” Dominic said.
“Well, they are twins.” Janice said before changing the topic. “What do you want to do with Dominic, Jace?”
“To teach him and to train him.”
“So, he will be participating in those fits for the new vamps, right?” Dad asked.
I nodded and dad sighed.
“Hopefully, he survives.” Dad said.
“He will if I’m his teacher.” I told him.
Of course, father was doubting me. That’s okay because Dominic will be along side of me. Everybody in this shit will see.
I woke up, nice and relaxed from last night. I could not believe Seth and I hooked up last night. Sometimes, I thought it was a dream, but smelling his amazing scent on my sheets let me know that it was the truth. It really happened. As I slowly got out of bed, the wonderful smell of breakfast filled my nose. My mouth watered and my stomach growled as I got dressed. I threw on a blank white tank top with no bra and some denim shorts. Once I finished eating breakfast, I was going to hop in the shower and go to work.I proceeded out the room, ready to eat. I strolled to the kitchen and seen Kilan and Seth eating already. Kilan’s eyes glistened when he looked up at me with love. He got down from the chair and ran to me, squealing with excitement. I picked him up before turning my eyes to Seth.“I have to go to the pack today,” Seth said as he finished his last bit of food of his plate. “Will you be okay with him?”I tilted my head and
Today was not a good day at all for me. I was getting calls from New Orleans from the family about how the treaty was broken because of the shit between Trinity and Dominic. I tried to call Trinity’s phone, but it went straight to voicemail. That shit had me worried completely. Finding out that my daughter had a kid with one of these fucking wolves, bothered me. I knew I should have told her about them before she left.“Dad?” Ember called my name.I was in my home office today, so I was home with the family. I turned around and glanced over at Ember, who was still in her PJs.“Good morning, honey.” I said to her.“Good morning.” She said. “Mom wanted me to come get you to let you know that breakfast is done.”“I’ll be there in a few.”She nodded and walked off. I sighed and got up from my chair, stretching before I proceeded out the office. My phone rang in my pocket as
A week had not went by yet and I was getting worked. Jace was on my back every second for these past couple of day. But, it did not stop there. Today, Jace and I were in a room way in the back of the mansion. Whatever we was doing, I could not focus on it. I was already missing my family, Triniti and the kids included. I wonder how the babies were doing?“Clear your mind.” I heard Jace tell me from behind. “You won’t get anywhere with a clouded head.”“I can’t stop thinking about them.” I told him.“You’ll be able to see them soon. Now, get this done.”I nodded my head and closed my eyes. I needed to look past Anubis. I needed to look deeper.“How can I call him if I don’t know him by name?” I asked my father.“He’ll tell you. Don’t worry about the name, though. You need to find him.”I heard shuffling and my eyes snapped open.
After work today, I had decided to go visit the kids. I had to visit the pack, anyways. I made it to the Bayou and parked the car in front of mom’s house. It was a lot of tension here since that night. Mom was distant and Seth and I kept our distance away from her. We focused mainly on our pack and we only came by to visit the twins and Trinity. Other than that, there was not a real conversation we would have with her. I got out the car and walked over to the front door. I seen Seth and Dante with everyone from the pack a few houses down. As I turned my attention back to mom’s house, I saw that she was waiting for me at the door. She gave me a small smile, however, one was not returned to her. She was not getting that from me at all. She did our brother foul and I could not believe she had all of us fooled. She opened the door wide and I j
Once Janelle and London were gone, we were able to get down to some real business. First, I decided to give Dominic a call. We had not heard from him. The phone he had was not picking up at all. It would always go to voicemail and that worried me.“Trying to get in contact with Dominic?” Dante asked me.“Yeah,” I told him. “I’m trying to see if he’s good and tell him what’s going on.”“Try him telepathically.” “Would it work since he’s far away from us?”“Can’t hurt to try.”I decided to let Malachi do that. That ability was not mines; it was my wolf’s.
The Carter pack? Why does that name sound so familiar? I could not place that name even if my life had depended on it. We decided to meet up with them in a few days. Some place else. We were not ready to have meetings with others that were not in the pack yet. Besides, Seth and I were not ready to have outsiders come here since we just recently claimed it as our own. “So, where are we meeting them?” I asked Mickey.“In a few days.” He told us.“They better not be weak.” Deon said to Mickey.“Bruh, they’re not.” Mickey got defensive.“Chill, you guys.” Seth said. “
I heard Dominic’s bloody screams as I walked closer to the room. That was not all I could hear. His fists pounded away at the locked door as he tried to escape the room. He was making a big scene out of something so simple, I thought to myself. I stood in front of the door and waited for him to stop.“You’re making this complicated.” I told him in a unfazed tone. “You need to concentrate.”“I fucking can’t!” He shouted. “I can’t do this while I’m damn near starving to death!”“Then, I suggest you call on your vamp.”“He won’t answer me!”I leaned against the door and crossed my arms. I knew he was hungry, but this is part of the
Janelle was out for the remainder of the day, so I kept the bar open for her. Seth was with the pack, so of course, Kilan was with me. That was not a problem since Kilan had been clinging to me for the longest. As I made a drink for this one customer, I could not get Trinity off my mind. Seeing her unconscious like that really bothered me. It even had me rethink about having unprotected sex with Seth. I did not want to go through the same thing she went through. “You seem troubled,” the guy I was fixing the drink for, said to me.I looked up at him, smiling. He was a regular like Dante, so he could tell I was not in a talkative mood tonight.“Yeah, just in deep thought.” I told him as I handed him the drink he had ordered. “Let me know if you would like anything else.”
My eyes were wandering all over the place. They kept going from Triniti to Callighan. As much as I wanted to put my daughter down for messing with an enemy, I just could not do it. When Callighan shot her arm off, the anger I had towards her shifted. I looked at Ember, who stared at Triniti with sadness. She was caught off guard like I was.
Mr. Callighan scared me, still. Dominic was nowhere to be seen and the other packs were fighting on the other side of the Bayou. I held Ember’s hand as I pulled her away from that fucking psychopath. He glanced at me and Ember with excitement. “I don’t have one Moore, I got two.” He said. “What a fucking bargain deal.” He got closer to us and we’d move backwards to distance the pace. I heard a groan
Janelle nor Ms. Greyson has not came back yet. Neither had Triniti. I could feel that something was wrong in the air. A feeling I only got when someone very close was hurt. I paced back and forth in the living room, waiting for somebody to come and tell me that everything was fine and that the war had ended. The shit was getting out of hand and I wish I had the strength to get the war to end. However, Eric was persistent and childish. He was mad over something he had no control over and I could not believe he would even start that shit. I placed my hand on the bandaged area. That bullet was killing me, so I ended up removing it myself since Janelle had left. T
I heard them and my wolf was mad. I stopped fighting my uncle and turned the opposite way. There’s no fucking way, I thought to myself. I ended up, going to where Janelle was. There’s no fucking way, I kept thinking. Kai: Please be okay… As I charged to the area, I heard another gun go off in the same area. I
I was able to gain a tiny bit of energy back, but it was not enough to shift. My wolf was gone, at the moment. I looked up and saw that Erika was gone, which was good. I was angry that she came because she would have never gotten shot by Eric. I turned around and tried getting up, dizziness hitting me hard. “Seth, get up!” Jace shouted as he continued to fight Eric. “My wolf is gone!” I shouted to him as I walked ov
There were so many of them. Eric wanted to make sure he was backed up by many. The Bayou was covered in fucking blood and dead bodies. Wolf members and officers laid lifeless on the ground. There were wolves that lived, but lost their wolf due to the tranquilizer dart that Eric’s officers were shooting us with. That shit was terrible and we were losing a lot of good wolves behind it.&
Yessss… Are you finally calling me out? It took you a minute, but I can’t complain. You have gotten the strength to bring me out. I wonder, were you able to bring that bastard of a wolf out as well? Anubis: Fuck you, you damn bloodsucker. You’re so lucky that stupid son of a bitch subdued me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have allowed your bitch ass to be called out.&nbs
We moved a little faster than planned. My police officers and the officers all around Louisiana were getting anxious. They wanted war to happen now. As much as I wanted it to happen, doing it during the day was not a good time for me. I wanted it at night, when they were mostly active. Once nightfall hit, we took action. Guns were going off, wolves were growling as they launched at my officers. It was beginning to be too much. The wolves that tried to come after me, got nowhere. They were all getting shot with a special dart that Amanda made for us. The dart drained them, physically, subduing their wolves in the process. They won’t be able to shift for a
“Dominic..” I sobbed as soon as I saw Dominic laid out on the bed.I had never cried for a guy before, but when I saw the way he looked, I could not help it. It felt like I lost him, even though his father was told to get him up. I sat on the bed, wiping the tears from my eyes. He looked awful and he smelled like a corpse at the moment. I was not tripping about that at all, I was hurt that he was killed this way. He had a deep gash in his stomach. His head was turned awkward like his neck was snapped. I held the kids close to me, trying to comfort them and to make myself feel better. That was too much for me to witness.
