Ketzia POV

I was shocked at what was happening to my best friend, what the crap was happening anyways?? One minute Jeff’s about to ask the clueless Kiara out to the dance the next thing she hyperventilating with fists clenched fixated on something behind Jeff. I only see teens rushing to get to class. Kiara’s breathing got worse and her hair started to stand up like she was covered in static electricity. I yelled her name but she was too fixated on something it’s like she didn’t hear me at all. “KIARA, KIARA WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?” I screamed at no one in particular. Jeff answered in a loud panicked voice “ I don’t know but whhhaattt---" Jeff became silent and his jaw dropped to the ground That’s when I saw it Kiara had one bright emerald green eye and one glowing red eye. They stayed like that what seemed like hours but was only seconds. Suddenly Kiara’s hair calmed and her eyes changed back to that normal green. It’s like she woke up dazed and looked at everyone with a confused look. “ what is everyone staring at, what did I miss?” Kiara asked confused staring at Ketzia. I grabbed her arm as quick as I could and ran straight out the school to my car and told her to get in. Luckily she got in no questions asked. ‘What the heck is Kiara?’ I thought to myself. I know where we can get answers, my meemaw. She always talked about the supernatural world and how we were descendents of witches and what not. I always thought it was stories, fiction, crap my grandmother made up because she was bored and alone. Maybe there was some truth to those stories. “Where are we going Z? You know how Nanna gets if I miss classes.” I threw a look at Kiara . This girl could not be serious, she had one glowing red eye and glowing green eye and some weird breathing episode in the middle of the school and she’s worried about class? “ What Z? You’re freaking me out talk to me please!” “ You really don’t realize what just happened in front of the whole school do you?” “ What? I was just having a bit of a panic attack?” Kiara lied to herself. She wasn’t a good liar and with us being friends for so long I could definitely tell something was going on she didn’t want to tell me. “ You had a green glowing eye and one glowing red eye Kiara. Even your hair started to stand on end, and I swear I saw—” I stopped thinking if I should tell her I swear I saw what looked to be fangs gleaming through her lips. “WHAT Z? WHAT DID YOU SEEEE??” Kiara screamed at me and was starting to panic. “ I swear I saw fangs" I blurted out finally. Kiara gasped and covered her mouth. She didn’t ask anything else for the rest of the drive, thankfully because I for once had zero answers for her. Hopefully meemaw would know what to do because she was our only hope.

Jeff’s POV

I stood there and watched both Ketzia and Kiara run away and head straight to the student parking lot and shortly after I heard the sounds of squeeling  breaks leaving the school. I look around and see everyone still standing shocked as can be but I knew what this meant. I never once thought Kiara would be apart of my world. I thought for sure she was just another human girl I found attractive. I knew I smelled something different on her today. That meant whatever she is, is definitely making an appearance today. “ Why is everyone standing around?” I knew that smell before she even spoke. As a werewolf and soon to be Alpha of the River Run pack, my senses were way more heightened then humans. I looked up and scoffed at the all too familiar face of my ex Kelsey. “What’s with you?” Kelsey asked with an attitude. “ Not today Kelsey I’m not in the mood for your crap today.” “ Well whatever, I was going to let you take me to the dance but now I don’t think you’ll be so lucky" “Oh noooo what ever will I do??” I responded with my most sarcastic tone and turned to walk away. Something about Kiara pulled me to her. Not only her beauty but her aura that she put off was that of an Alpha but she never smelled like one of us. Every time my wolf Jackson is around her he’s so calm. I thought for sure she was my mate. One of the reasons I broke up with Kelsey was because my wolf only wanted Kiara, but she never returned the feelings. So I for sure thought she just didn’t feel the mate pull like me and was human and I’d just have to work a bit harder to get her to like me. Not once did I think her supernatural side was dormant this whole time. I need to talk to my father now. I rushed passed the cars in the student parking lot. I hopped in my ruby red mustang and headed back to River Run. River run was the second largest pack in the world and was hidden deep in the forest. We even had our owns schools but I refused to go to an all werewolf school. I needed to experience everything from the outside world if I wanted to be a good Alpha. It took me about an hour to get to the pack house. I parked as fast as I could and ran inside to find my father Alpha Sirus.
