Just as I opened the door I got this weary feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was quiet in the cabin which made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I started walking to kitchen and was hit with a metallic like smell. And this other very distinct smell , the smell of death. As I got closer to the kitchen I’m met with what looks like kool-aid on the floor but it was thicker than that and way darker. I turned the corner slowly and there I see her meemaw laying on the floor in a pool if her own blood. Someone had sliced her throat. I gasped and covered my mouth with my hand. I heard a muffled cry and looked up. Right in front of me was my best friend, tears streaming down her face and a hand over her mouth and a knife at her neck. The culprit was that same dark figure with glowing red eyes. I could see those teeth I dreamt so much about and in that second I knew who this was. It was my father. “ mmmm you look like your mother Kkkiiiaaaarrraa. I’ve waited so long for your supernatural side to wake up and call to me my child. Whatever your mother managed to do before she died she made sure to hide your smell. You’re 15 now so your powers should be coming out now, but just in case I’m here to give you a little push” he said slyly. In and instant he dropped the knife from Ketzia’s throat and it fell to the floor. He removed his hand from her mouth and whispered in her ear loud enough for me to hear, “ I want to hear you scream. I want to watch the life leave from your eyes. I want to feel that last breath you take”. The minute the last word left his mouth Ketzia’s eyes widened with fear and she looked at me and said, “ RRRRUUNN!”. But I couldn’t move I was frozen in place watching everything unfold. He instantly tilted Ketzias neck and sunk his teeth right in. Ketzia didn’t scream though she looked him in the eyes and when he was done he pulled his teeth out and pulled off half her neck because of his two hooked teeth. In that moment I heard a loud whailing scream but it was coming from me. My body felt lighter as it lifted up off the ground, tears were pouring down my eyes as they glowed with fury. Not only did my so call father murder my mother but now he viciously killed my best friend in front of me. All of a sudden I felt this power surge through me. My scream got even louder and all the windows broke off and a force threw my father through the wall. I opened my hands as I was clenching them so tightly blood was coming from the palms of my hands. Flames bursted out of my hands as I released them. In an instant I felt so drained and a wave of darkness took over me and everything went black.
