I kept my eyes locked on a specific man from across the bar. He was gorgeous with his chocolate brown hair, deep green eyes, a chiseled jawline, and a smile to die for. He was built like the rest of the Vampires, large and muscular. He towered over me and had to be over 6 feet tall at least. He was wearing a nice three piece suit, and his accent color matched the crimson adorning my nails. He had been drinking heavily most of the night. This was partially thanks to yours truly, who kept ordering him shot after shot on his own tab. We locked eyes after what felt like hours and I winked at him, causing him to make his way over to me. Once he reached me he immediately attempted to touch me. I grabbed his hand midair, stopping him before he could. I smiled to myself as his naughty thoughts infiltrated my mind, I already had him. "Not here." I purred with a sly smile. "Go pay your tab, and let's get out of here." I murmured into his ear, while taking his earlobe in my mouth softly. He su
I grabbed my keys from the dish on the entry table and headed out to my Bugatti. I clicked the unlock button and my driver's side lambo door flung open, allowing me to step inside and take a seat before closing. I set the keys down in the console and pressed my push to start, listening to the purring of those horses again. That was one of my favorite sounds. "Jarvis, call Shadow." I commanded. He obliged when the 20 inch digital display on the dash lit up. Seconds later a male appeared on the screen. “Checkmate.” I said, while holding up the chain with the ring attached to it in front of the camera so he could see. “Well done, Snow. You've outdone yourself. Your deposit will be in your bank by morning.” He said, and then he ended the call. Good. This was a $500,000 hit. He was somewhat of a high roller, I guess. I shrugged it off. “Jarvis, navigate me to the nearest Academy.” I said. “As you wish, ma’am.” He replied, and we started heading that way. I threw on a pair of black sungla
"Good morning. It's 10:30am. The weather in Bellefonte is 83 degrees with scattered clouds. All historical museums and businesses are now open. Shall I ready your car, ma'am?" Jarvis’ chipper voice rang out, jarring me from my luckily dreamless sleep. “No Jarvis, I will have the valet boy grab it. Thank you.” I mumbled, while sitting up and rubbing the sleep from my eyes. We had a long drive ahead, and I wasn’t really ready for it. Maine was a few states away and I wasn’t looking forward to the multi day drive I was about to endure. I know it was only 10 hours away but I planned to stop in between so it was going to take a bit. I got out of bed and wandered to the closet, pulling out a black dress that was eerily similar to the one I was wearing last night, which sat crumpled on the floor still. No need to worry, I had another in my closet at any given time. I slipped the dress on along with a new bra and panties. I chose a pair of heels that weren’t as flashy as the ones from last n
I have no idea how long it had been that we had been driving, but Jarvis informed me that we were low on gas and needed to fuel up. So we pulled into the closest Maverik. I started the fuel and then walked inside to grab something to eat. Gas station food wasn’t that healthy, but luckily Maverik had salads and other relatively healthy options. I opted for some boiled eggs, a cobb salad and some string cheese. On the way out I noticed a Vasa gym across the street. “Jarvis, it’s time for a pit stop, take me to that Vasa right there.” I said. “As you wish ma’am.” He replied, and we drove over there. I got out of my car and walked to my trunk, clicking the button on my keys to open it. I had a duffel bag full of clothes and shoes, accessories, just things I may need when I can't get to The Academy. I had a pair of yoga high waisted shorts and a sports bra, both black of course. I grabbed those and a pair of socks with my running shoes. I placed them into a smaller bag I had in the trunk
He quickly paid for lunch, how considerate of him. He was obviously in a hurry to attempt to murder me. I rolled my eyes to myself as we walked out of the restaurant, and he started walking towards his car. “Hey, why don't you let me drive?” I asked. He looked at me with a confused look on his face, as if I had said something completely foreign to him. In all reality I just threw a wrench in his plan. I’m sure he had the perfect place to take me, but I think the place I have planned is better. “I know of a cool place close to here that we can go to. I saw it on the map on the way here. I will bring you back when we are done." I said, with a wink. He sucked in a breath and nodded, following me to the back of the building. "Jarvis, bring the car to my location." I said. "Yes ma'am." Jarvis replied and I could hear my car start from across the parking lot. The sound of those horses gave me goosebumps. I had always loved sports cars, ever since I was a kid. My car pulled up and both lam
I shot up from my sleep, covered in a thin layer of sweat. “Ma’am, your heart rate is elevated, are you ok?” Jarvis purred through the speakers in my car. Just the sound of his voice calmed me down, it helped me come back to reality. “Yes Jarvis, thank you.” I said, and adjusted my seat so I was sitting up. It was dark and we were on a thin stretch of road with no other traffic. I rubbed my hands on my face for a moment trying to shake the feeling of that leeches fangs inside my neck. I ran my fingers across the area where the bandage was from my kill earlier. I was surprised that the leech I just killed hadn't asked about it. I guess it was a little lower on my neck, but it was definitely visible. He must have thought it was rude to ask and didn't bother. How kind of him, ha. I thought, with a snort. I peeled the bandage off and pulled my rearview mirror down to look at the mark. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Once I get to The Academy I could use their scar cre
I grabbed my phone and winced at the pain in my shoulder, which I realized was still bleeding. “Jarvis, please bring the car to my location.” I said. “Of course, ma’am.” He replied, and I could hear my car start and head my way. He pulled up and my driver's side lambo door opened. There was no way I was getting in my car covered in blood and still bleeding. Do you know how hard it is to get blood out of my upholstery? Yea, not doing that again. I clicked the trunk button on my keys and walked back to the trunk, setting my guns and knife on top of my smaller gym bag. I opened my duffel bag and pulled out a small medical kit. I grabbed some gauze and pressed it on my wound, applying pressure for a bit until the bleeding calmed down. Then I got some salve that The Academy provided and put it on the bite mark, covering it with a clean set of gauze and using an ace bandage to wrap it on my shoulder. Then I pulled out another black dress, carefully setting it aside so it didn’t get bloody
I headed inside and noted that this Academy was very similar to the one in Pennsylvania decor wise, but it was much larger. There were two front desks on this one, and even at this early morning hour there were other Hunters checking in. I knew Maine was a contract hotspot but I had never ventured this far before. I never had the opportunity or really needed to until now. I walked up and got in line at the far right front desk, waiting to check in. Someone walking by me ended up brushing against my arm, but luckily I still had my gloves on from earlier, so I didn’t get any reads on his mind. Honestly, it was more of a curse than a gift. Always knowing what was on people's minds was exhausting. As much as I loved it, and used it to my advantage when Hunting, I wish I could turn it on and off at will. It would be so nice to just have skin contact with someone and be completely in the dark about what they were thinking. My mind was racing and I didn’t even realize it was my turn next i
“Clark, It’s Damien. I’m going to need one last favor.” I said. “Of course, Damien, what is it?” He asked. I have 2 bodies I’m going to need you to pick up. Funeral arrangements have already been specified in the document I will leave for you. As always, money is no issue and I trust that you will charge me for all of it.” He said. “Of course, sir. I can have the coroner there in a half hour.” He replied. “Thank you, Clark. Truly, thank you, my friend...” I said, before hanging up the phone. I looked at Jericho and nodded. He nodded back to me. I walked over to Max’s body and pulled Snow’s knife from Max’s chest. I walked over to Jericho while Xavier grieved over my gifted mate. “Do not feed from him, he needs to stay alive. Snow would kill us both if she ever found out that something bad happened to him. You have my will, you have everything you need. Give this to Clark when he arrives. It has the instructions I have specified. Burn this fucking place to the ground once Clark and th
And who just literally gave up her physical life for me, was gone. My thoughts were a fucking wreck. I have no idea how long I held her before I laid her on the bed, or what was left of it. That's when I noticed Max across the room. He was clearly dead, Snow’s knife protruded from his chest. I knew that was what killed him, even though I doubt he could have survived the blast either way. I looked back down at the body of the only woman I had ever truly loved and smiled through my tears. “I’m so proud of you. Giving up the ultimate sacrifice to accomplish your goals. So fucking proud.” I said, moving a piece of her hair from the blood that stained her face. I tucked it behind her ear softly. Even in death she was so fucking beautiful. My chest ached physically at her loss. Every bone in my body was in agony. Like they knew we were missing our other half. The strange thing was the bond seemed to still be in place, It was just unreachable and very very faint. I called Jericho and told
Xavier ignored us both and kept trying to find a way around the barrier. It was no use, I couldn’t even penetrate it so there was no way an enhanced Human could either. I could still feel Snow, but it was pointless trying to get inside. I sent Xavier home after a few hours. He was reluctant but I had to keep coaching Jericho down, and helping him to understand his Vampire tendencies. He was trying to take a bite out of Xavier more times than I wanted to admit… He was going to struggle with this, just like I did. Which was normal. Snow, on the other hand, was a unicorn. She barely struggled and was able to keep her composure easily. It was her powers that she struggled with and I knew this. I wanted to know what the hell Max was doing to her to cause me to not be able to feel the gifted mate bond anymore. Jericho needed sleep and even though I didn't plan to sleep, I knew I needed to, otherwise tomorrow was going to be a lot harder. It was just too hard to sleep with my gifted mate i
“Cortana, call Xavier.” I said. I knew I had just called him and he probably wasn't even there yet, but I had to try. “What?” He snarled, clearly annoyed by me. But I didn’t care. “Something happened, I can't reach Snow through our bond anymore. I can feel her life force, but I can’t feel her emotions.” I said, trying to hide the panic in my voice.I told her I wouldn’t hover, I wouldn’t bother her and let her handle things. I knew she was independent and wanted to be the savior. I knew… But I was trying not to lose my mind. Plus, Jericho couldn’t wake up alone. That would spell disaster. “I just arrived but I can't get past the front doors. There is some sort of forcefield, I don’t know. Some sort of magic here. Whatever it is, it’s preventing anyone from going in or out.” He replied. “Fuck. Ok, keep an eye on it, and if anyone comes in or out, I need to know. I’ll be there as soon as Jericho finishes his transition.” I said, and hung up the phone. I was half tempted to take Jericho
(Damien)I had a terrible feeling as I watched Snow leave my house to meet with Max. Something inside just nagged at me not to let her go. Had I known what the next 72 hours was going to bring, I would have listened. Rarely does my gut instinct send me astray. This was a fact. I started making preparations immediately after her departure. “Jericho, you still here?” I called out from the hallway. He poked his head out of his room a few doors down. “What’s up boss?” He said. “It’s time.” I replied, and I watched him stiffen and pull his head back into the doorway, coming out a second later without his equipment. He walked up to me and nodded. “I’m ready.” He said. I ushered him into my room and over to my desk while I rifled through papers until I found the will. My last will and testament. The second Snow became a Vampire I had a feeling that something terrible was going to happen to her. She just had too much power… I took Jericho aside and made him promise me that he would be my so
“I don’t want it! I don’t want you!” I snarled. “What is it about him? What the fuck is it that has you so fucking entranced?” Max snarled, releasing me from his grip. I stumbled back, getting as far away from him as I could. “Who? Who are you talking about?” I demanded. I was contemplating running, but my curiosity got the best of me. Max was pacing in the room, clearly stressed out. I knew I was trapped, it didn’t matter where I went or what I did, I was stuck in whatever hallucination Max decided to throw at me. There was no point trying to escape. Max suddenly turned towards me and his eyes were full of rage. “You could have had everything with me. You could have had more than you ever hoped for, more than you ever dreamt of. I would have kept you safe. I would have loved you, and protected you. I would have given you anything in this fucking world… All you had to do was say yes. All you had to do was fucking choose me.” He snarled. I took a step back, towards the door as he inc
We got back to the suite and Max immediately turned his gaze to me. I knew exactly what he was thinking. I snickered to myself at the smile creeping on his lips. How did I get so fucking lucky? He was such a damn catch. Way out of my league. “I know what you’re thinking, doll. But… We need food.” He said, putting his finger to my lips. “I’ve got something you can eat.” I said, with a smirk. Within seconds he had me pinned up against the wall next to the closet and smashed his lips into mine. I knew that would get him. At this rate we would never eat, or leave this room. I decided to play hard to get, switch things up a little. I snaked out of his grasp and took off running across the room. I smirked when I heard Max’s growl at my escape. I could feel his feet padding on the floor behind me. I felt like he was letting me get a head start, I knew he was much faster than I was. I turned as I got close to the bathroom just in time for Max to tumble into me, tackling me causing us to bot
He pulled away first. “No more, I have already had a hard enough time keeping my dick in my pants, let’s not make it public, doll.” He purred. I just laughed. “Ok, ok.” I said, with my hands up in defeat. “Let’s just make it through the conference, and then you can have me the rest of the entire day if you choose.” Max said. “Deal.” I replied. He grabbed my hand as we headed out of the suite and to the elevator. His thoughts were a mess of me naked, the conference, the merge. He was nervous but also more excited than he had ever been. The company was about to take off, and the shareholders would benefit from buying stocks right about now. I let my mates' thoughts calm my nerves as we headed past the front desk. “Oh dear, you look so much better this morning!” She said. I thanked her and waved, catching Max’s eye as we went outside. “What was that about?” He asked. “Oh I don’t know, something about looking like I was crying last night. I’m not sure.” I said. He chuckled. “If you wer
The elevator opened and I headed towards the end of the hall. I pushed open the doors to Max’s suite and walked inside, taking my heels off and setting them by the door. Max walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and we locked eyes. “Ah, Snow. you’re back sooner than I expected.” Max purred. “And you’re a hell of a lot less clothed than I expected.” I said with a smirk, letting my eyes roam his nearly naked form. His rippling muscles cascaded down his chest and arms. His towel hung low, accentuating the deep V that was partially hidden. “I think you forget that I am the one who has won the grand prize here.” Max purred, as he sauntered towards me. I met him halfway as our lips collided, sending lightning and cool fire dancing between us. Max pulled away and leaned his forehead against mine. “I love you, Snow. I love you so fucking much.” He said. “I love you too, Max. You know I do.” I replied. He pulled away the rest of the way and looked at me. I could see the complete and
