24: Her Life Goal

Leo stared blankly at nothing in particular, thinking about how stupid he was back then. He had been with patients with different mental conditions, yet he let himself act weird in front of Margot. He was lucky she didn’t mention it but anybody would freak out if their doctor just popped out of nowhere and said things he shouldn’t to his patient.

Embarrassment was an understatement. Leo even almost told Margot about his sleepless nights since she walked into his office. He tried to forget everything and moved on, but after his assistant informed him that Margot was coming, he couldn’t be more nervous than ever. He just hoped she forgot how he acted overly concerned that night.

After all, Leo knew it would be right to get involved in a married couple just because he felt something special toward somebody else’s wife.

“Doc, Mrs. Walton has arrived,” Hannah informed, cutting off the doctor’s train of thought.

Leo cleared his throat and replied, “Let her in.”
