18: Smell A Rat

“Thanks for driving me home,” Margot thanked Leo after getting out of his car. She was embarrassed about what happened. She never thought that even outside his office, she’d still cry a lot.

“Don’t mention it. I’m glad to help,” Leo replied.

Margot waved her hand and smiled. “Drive safe,” she added and watched the car leave.

Letting out a deep sigh, Margot went inside the house. The lights were still off and Harry’s car was nowhere to be found. Her chest ached at the thought that he was probably spending the night with his younger woman.

“There’s no chance he’ll change. Divorce isn’t enough to make him pay,” Margot said, marching upstairs. She checked their bedroom, only to reminisce about the times when she thought she was happy.
