22: A Cheater’s Tale

Margot threw herself on the sofa, rubbing her forehead with closed eyes. She didn’t think she’d enjoy partying with her colleagues in the club. She watched them dance as she sat in the corner, drinking some rum, and it was fun. Her initial plan to go home at 8 was extended to 9, then 10, sobered up at 11 and finally went home at midnight.

“Where have you been?” Harry’s voice broke the silence in the house. His expression darkened when he saw his wife lying on the sofa, a strong smell of alcohol coming from her.

“Goodness, Margot! You’re drunk?” Harry held his wife in both arms and shook her. “Who were you drinking with? For Pete’s sake, you came home late, again!”

Margot just stared at Harry and giggled. She couldn’t help but laugh at how stupid his husband could be to be dating a younger woman who messing with other men aside from him.

‘Birds with the same feathers, huh?’ Margot thought as she laughed, looking at her husband’s clueless expression before her.
