Xanders pov

I had never gotten hung up on one night stand before, and could hardly even remember their faces the very next day. But there was something about this woman that made her linger in my mind.

Then I saw her again, well her passport clipped along to her credentials. There was no mistaking it was her.

I scanned through and found her name.

“Aurora light,” her name slid off my tongue.

I looked through her credentials, the only thing that stock out was the insane amount of recommendation letters she had listed with the places she worked, but most of them were menial responsibilities.

She didn't have one single proper office job.

Well until now.

I wanted to see her again, and maybe figure out why she couldn't leave my mind.

So I gave her the job, and she showed up the very next day.

While she looked polished and professional enough, I quickly noticed that her skirt suit was a Frankenstein monster, each piece coming from different sources.

I put that in the back of my mind as I awaited her reaction from seeing me again.

And apparently I was going to be waiting for a while, she greeted me and said; “ good morning, sir. I'm Aurora light, I applied for the position as your personal secretary and received your acceptance email yesterday,”

I bit back a chuckle, she was really pretending not to know me. Well two could play at that game, I invited her to sit then folding my fingers and placing it on the desk in front of me, I began to drill her.

“This interview is a formality, Miss Light. But I hope you answer as honestly as possible,”

“O-of course,”

I could tell she was nervous, possibly questioning herself if she had mistaken me for someone else. If not, why would I be playing her little game?

Well I was amused, that I had to admit.

“So, Miss light, can you tell me a little about the college you attended?”

“Oh, Brennfield?” She said, as if it left a bitter taste in her mouth.

She was quiet for a second, but only a second the next moment she was blabbing facts about the place more like an encyclopedia than an alumni.

“I see,” I said, stopping her as I tapped my pen against my desk rhythmically.

“ Miss light, I can't help but admit that your college is rather unremarkable…”

I saw her face immediately bleach of color, I didn't know she would take it that deeply especially after she easily conceded with a nod afterwards.

“Then there's your lack of experience…”

She bit her bottom lip, and I nearly lost myself there but I kept my professional mask tightly tied around my face.

“Did you really think a letter of recommendation from a pizza place was going to get you far?”

Now she was fidgeting awkwardly, and I felt I had made my points well enough.

“Even so, despite all of this, I want to give you this job,”

Her eyes widened until they were twice the original size and she placed a shaky hand on her chest.

“But sir, I'm sure that they are more qualified applicants,”

“Yes,” I responded, “but none of them made an impression on me quite like you did,”

And there it was, her mouth fell open and she seem to battle with her words shutting it before she finally spoke.

“I guess you recognized me, I was hoping that you would forget about that night—it was a mistake, a one-time thing,”

“Is that so?” I said cocking one of my eyebrows.

“Most women would be begging for another chance to crawl into my bed, and yet here you are. You're a bit full of yourself,” I said but I made sure that my tone carried it as a compliment.

“Well, sir, I'm sorry but I'm not most women. I just got out of a messy relationship and I'd rather focus on myself now,”

A smile rolled on my face.

“You're perfect,” I said without stuttering and she stared at me, her face mingled with surprise and shock.

“What do you mean by that?”

“What I mean…” I began, “... Is that you'll be perfect for what I want, trust me I'm not looking for a relationship either or at least not the committed type what I want from you is something a little different,”

She appeared to be taken aback, trembling all over as if she had been thrown out into the cold then looking at me from under her lashes she asked.

“So you promise that I will have the job if I agree to do this?”

“Of course I always keep my word,” I told her reassuringly, she suddenly got up taking a few steps away from my desk, her fingers trembling as she raised them.

I was curious about what she was going to do, so I didn't question her at first until she started unbuttoning her jacket. It was so unexpected that I could only react after she had thrown the jacket on the chair she had been sitting on earlier.

“Miss light, what are you doing?! This is an office!”

She paused on the first button, “I thought this was what you wanted…” she confessed her face going red like a cherry.

“... In order to give me the job and favor me over the other applicants,”

I shook my head.

“No, no…put on your jacket! That's not what I was after. Let me explain myself,”

She was still read in the face when she took her jacket, slipped it back on and sat down again.

I took a moment to collate my thoughts together.

“Please, don't do something like that out of the blue again!”

“Undress–”

“Yes, that. What if someone else had stepped into my office then?”

She noted understandingly.

“Then what do you want from me?” She asked curiously, I smirked, pulling out the document I had prepared from a folder.

“This…” I said, slipping it under her nose.

" Let's get married,”

So far he had only met my grandmother, and he was pleased to meet the rest of my fa
