"I survived death barely hours ago and now you want to divorce me??"
Olive's words echoed in the ward, her jaw dropped and her hands shook as she held onto the envelope. She stared at her husband in disbelief, tears welling up in her eyes. "How could you do this to me?" she asked, her voice quivering with anger and hurt. "I'm done with you, Olive," her husband said, his cold voice devoid of emotion. "I've found someone better, someone who's rich and I'm not wasting another moment of my life with you." Olive's eyes widened in disbelief. "But... but we've been married for three years! You can't just throw away our relationship like it doesn't matter!" Her husband, Joshua Jones shrugged. "It doesn't matter to me." His voice dripped with unfamiliar hatred which caught Olive Anderson off guard. But Olive shook her head in denial, she didn't want to accept this reality. The sadness made her solemn, she could feel the emotions welling up inside her like a river threatening to overflow its banks. Never in her Twenty-Five years of life had she been this devastated. Her vision blurred and her throat tightened, as she tried to hold back the tears. A single tear rolled down her cheek, and then another, until they were flowing freely. "You know you can always tell me what I did wrong so we can sort things out..." her voice turns excruciating, hoping they could reconcile the misunderstanding that threatened to break their marriage. The beeping sounds from the heart monitor reminded her of her painful encounter. Her black hair spread on the hospital bed, accentuating her pale skin. She thought she'd be able to hug her husband after she woke up a few minutes ago, but here she was...being served divorce papers instead. Joshua only scoffed at her "If you had died, that would have saved me the stress of explaining things to you!" His bitter words rolled out of his mouth and each sentence made Olive tear up even more, her face turned red and her nose couldn't help but drip snot. Earlier, she was involved in a car accident when she was on her way back from the hospital where her sick mother with Leukemia was hospitalized. She was taken to the hospital by a kind citizen for treatment. "How could you, Josh??" Her voice trailed off at the end. She was in disarray but Joshua did not spare her as he reminded her of her misfortune. "You want to guilt trip me?? Well, nice try but I'm not moved. For goodness sake Olive, we've been married for three fucking years and where are the proofs??" Joshua boiled in anger as he raised his voice to growl at her " There are None!!" The tension between them both was perpetual, Olive's eyes blurred even more as the tears formed in their depths. Being reminded by her husband of her inability to give him a child hurt her the more. Her heart throbbed in pain, her head was fuzzy as she remained sitting on the bed weakly, and her wrist was connected to the IV drip. Joshua continued to add more salt to her wounds "And aside from your inability to give birth, what do you have?? Absolutely nothing! You are nothing, Olive, all these while I thought you were a daughter of the Anderson family and that a little bit of properties would go to me..." his words made Olive ogle at him in awe. Her lips were apart as she stared at him, her eyes held pain, anguish, and a deep-seated sadness. "Joshua..." she weakly called out to him but he snapped at her impatiently. "Unfortunately for me, You are just a niece in the Anderson family, Olive, what is worse than that?? No wonder you never told me about your dad. You do not know who your father is, your mother is pathetic with leukemia and you are not even from the wealthy Anderson family but you just borrowed the name because your mom is a daughter of the family!" He recounted her life history to her, each word reminding her of the misery surrounding her birth. Too stunned, too sad to even cry, Olive is thrust into a deep pool of rejection and confusion. She mustered up a little bit of her courage to ask but her voice betrayed her as she stammered. "Is-is that why you agreed to marry me?? Because of the Anderson family wealthy?" Joshua gripped his hair in disbelief, he paced around for a bit before he pointed at the still-astonished Olive on the bed. "Back then, I could have done my research well enough, I regret getting married to you and it hurts that I finally got to find out about your true relationship with the Anderson family but not to talk much, Sign those damn papers!" He nodded as if to finalize his words. The anger in him made him snap at her again "And you will do that now!" Olive choked on her tears this time around. How happy she was three years ago when she got married to the man she loved. Even when others mocked her for her inability to bear Joshua a child, he never told it to her face. What went wrong? It pained her to know that he had only got married to her because he thought she was a daughter of the Anderson family. All for wealth. Now she was forced to know that He never loved her. He had only aimed for properties and now that he found out she was only related to the Anderson family because of her mom, he is disappointed. Olive opened her lips to say something more but the cracking of the door resounded in the room and that caught their attention. Olive was surprised when she saw her cousin, It was a bit awkward for her that Adeline, her cousin came in at that time and she was having a heated conversation with her husband. But Adeline's next question took her by surprise. "Babe, I have been waiting outside for a long time, have she not signed the papers yet?" Adeline asked as she walked right into the room. Olive who thought she was confused by Joshua's sudden choice to divorce her, can tell she was even more confused. Her eyes darted between Adeline and Joshua in great surprise. She couldn't process all that unfolded in her eyes. Olive was hit by the cruel realization when Joshua hugged Adeline before he kissed her forehead in assurance "I'm sorry for making you wait, sweetheart, you know your cousin is a bitch and she won't stop crying" Adeline snuggled into his embrace and Olive broke down. "Adeline..." Olive weakly called out when she finally found her voice, her words came out heavy as she looked at her husband and also called out to him "Josh...." Her voice broke even more "How could-how could you both betray me??" Adeline only rolled her eyes in mockery "Betray you, you say? Come on, I only want to clear his name and give him what you can't give him" Olive was stunned by her response, Adeline was not even remorseful for taking her husband. The betrayal stabbed Olive's heart and she found it hard to breathe, her vision shook but she quickly covered her mouth with her left palm as she burst into tears. Joshua didn't care, instead, he dropped the final bomb on her head "Sign the papers real quick and prepare yourself to attend I and Adeline's baby's arrival" The last sentence immediately lit a bulb in her head and it felt as if the world had stopped around her...Olive felt as though the world had stopped, frozen in the moment of her husband's revelation. Her jaw dropped, her eyes wide with shock and horror. The tears that damped her cheeks felt like acid on her skin, burning and stinging. "What? No..." she whispered, the breath leaving her lungs in a rush."It's true," he said, his tone dismissive. "Adeline's carrying my child. She's the one I want to build a life with, not you."Olive's heart shattered, the pieces falling to the floor like shattered glass. "You..."Adeline only rolled her eyes in boredom while she pressed her head on Joshua's chest."I've made my decision, Olive," Joshua said, his voice hard and devoid of emotion. "There's no need to drag this out. Sign the divorce papers and get ready to attend our baby shower. Adeline and I are moving on, with our new baby, this baby will prove to everyone that the fault is from you and not me!"Olive's body felt numb as she listened to his cruel words. She felt like she was watching the
"Do I have other options?" Olive asked as she stared at Maggie with a dull expression, she didn't expect anything better from her anyway.Maggie shook her head in denial "None" Olive balled her fists close to her, she cast her head down as she took in the level of insult she was about to place on herself. She was beside herself, not knowing what to decide anymore but Maggie's nonchalant words swept to her ears."You do not need to keep yourself that much cause as we both know, you have been divorced by your husband, so you do not need to feel guilty or think you are betraying him." She said and Olive looked at her.'That's right' It seemed she forgot so soon that she no longer has a husband and the only person she has is her sick mother. And she couldn't afford to be alone in this unfamiliar world that has stabbed her multiple times, for this reason, she was ready to do anything to save the one person who was her mother. With a clenched Jaw, Olive Agreed "When do I do it?" A smile q
Olive's eyes were met with the blinding sun rays that penetrated the hotel room. Her eyes fell on her lower body and she made to shout in surprise when seeing the hickeys all over her thighs, belly, and her breasts. She was certain there were many of them on her neck but now wasn't the time for her to check. She turned around and Olive spotted the man who was sleeping on the bed close by. She was surprised because he was really good-looking and didn't look anything like how Luca had described the investor. He looked like a mini-Demi god even though he was sleeping! His face was so handsome even though it was still morning time. Olive didn't know why he looked so different from the description Luca gave her. She couldn't help but stare a little bit more. But then she remembered that her mother still needed to undergo surgery so she immediately grabbed her gown from the floor and her heels. She went to the bathroom and dressed up real quick. After that, she rushed to the table
Olive was not only bewildered but also dumbfounded. She quickly shook her head thinking they were trying to make a fool out of her."No aunt. I went into the room and slept with that stranger" Still holding her cheek, Olive confirmed but Luca only snorted."The investor called that he waited for you in the room but you never showed up! How could you be so dimwit to not do this right?" Luca scolded, she was only a year older than Olive and three years younger than Adeline.Olive quickly stood up from the floor, her cheeks had the prints of Maggie's fingers on her face "I went to that hotel, I walked into room number 099 as told and I—""Wait. Room 099??" Maggie bellowed and Olive nodded after a while.Maggie stamped her feet on the tiled floor "Can't you comprehend a thing?? The number written on that paper is 066, how could you turn the paper upside down??" Luca shook her head, amused by Olive's stupidity. Olive's face turned ghastly as the realization dawned on her. Her eyes grew i
“Mr Logan…” Maggie tried to intervene as she turned to look at Logan in bewilderment. Logan didn’t even spare her a glance, his jaw were clenched, his eyes still locked with Olive’s. Luca was in disarray as she cried to her father “Dad, what’s going on??” She tucked at her father’s sleeve and that thrusted him into the reality. He immediately stepped forward to explain “Mr Logan, you can’t go with Olive, she’s—““Why not?” Logan snarled at him, his question cutting him off. His blazing eyes scanned Maggie and Luca “I am not married to your daughter. I have choices and this union with your family is off”He returned his gaze at Olive “ Dear Olive, I am still waiting” Luca snapped her head at Olive, her glaring eyes penetrated Olive’s body.Olive didn’t know how to react, faced with Logan’s Waiting eyes, Luca’s glaring eyes, Maggie’s scrunched face, and Her uncle’s death-sending eyes. She didn’t know what to do at that point but to gulp loudly, her throat popping up and down.Logan s
Olive was stunned at the sight of the red rashes that had covered Logan’s face. Her face turned pale as a sheet, her eyes trailed down to his neck which was filled with rashes and blisters. She wasn’t given the chance to protest when Logan’s firm hands dragged her along with him. Both of them exited the living room.Logan’s eyes constricted as he twisted his face, trying to contain the pain as he matched towards his car in long strides. His driver, Matthew quickly pulled open the car door when he saw Logan. His movement was fast as he pulled open the door.Logan impatiently shoved Olive forward for her to get into the car. “Get in” he gritted out, his voice hoarse as he watched Olive get in quickly. His breathing was rigid as he pushed himself into the car too before groaning “Matthew…Get the syringe” he muttered the last part as he rested his head on the chair. His chest rose and fell at a fast pace, and his body had completely turned red filled with rashes, blisters, and swells.Oli
At that point, Olive was dumbstruck by his statement "You've got a girlfriend?"Logan nodded "Yep" he confirmed and that made Olive even more confused."You date her for a reason, yeah? Though she can't touch you, you still date her..why not marry her?" She blurted. Her eyes searched his and he cleared his throat."It's just that my parents don't approve of her, none of them want us to be together but I love her" Logan clarified, and that made Olive nod."So, during our course of fake marriage, You'll still be keeping her" Olive articulated while eyeing Logan.“Just know this is a fake marriage. Butting into my business won’t be appreciated by me. Just do your own part of the deal and we’re good” he coldly said and that made Olive tongue tied.Instead of answering the initial question, Logan pushed open the car door, leaving Olive to wonder about his answer.Logan moved towards the house and just then, Scott came out of the house to meet him halfway."Logan, what is happening next?" S
Rushing into the hospital lobby, Olive searched for her mother’s nurse all over the place in a frantic mood.Luckily, she spotted the nurse coming out of a ward and she quickly dashed towards her “Nurse Becca…” she called out to her in a hurry.Nurse Becca sighted Olive and a smile graced her face “Hello, Olive.” Olive didn’t waste any time as she inquired “How is my mom?? Is she receiving treatment now?” Nurse Becca smiled widely “Do not worry. She is receiving care while the search in a broader region for a donor is ongoing.”Olive let out a mouthful of air as she held her chest as if to calm it down. The nurse beamed at Her before patting her shoulder “One Mr Smith paid for the bills. I hope your mother will be able to make it before a match is found.” “Can I see her??” Olive asked immediately and she nodded “Sure. She’s in room 23 at the end of the left lane” With that, the nurse walked away. Not wasting time, Olive started to find the room where her mother was receiving trea
Logan angrily ended the call and threw the phone on his bed. He ran his hand through his hair, his anger made his chest rise and fall rapidly. He and his girlfriend have been having several fights after another lately and it was becoming tiring. It was starting to get on his nerves! He was so pissed that he stormed out of the room, heading downstairs to join Olive for breakfast. He needed to be away from his cell phone because he knew how persistent Ravenna could be. She would buzz his phone unfailingly. He spotted olive already eating at the dining “I thought you said you would wait for me?” He asked as he walked towards them.Mrs Jenkins smiled while greeting “Good morning, Logan” she said while placing the jar of orange juice on the table that was filled with lots of dishes.Logan nodded “Good morning, Mrs Jenkins,” he said while sitting on the Chair next to Olive. Olive raised a brow at him, she replied“I waited for a long time but it didn’t seem as if you were going to come down
Logan seized her up with discerning eyes, but she remained deviant. He quickly reminded her "You are still grieving over your mother's death, holding a wedding at this time is.."She impatiently cut him off, her eyes remained calm as she gritted out "I want the wedding. She is gone now.." she swallowed hard when she noticed her voice beginning to break. Her fingers gripped her pajama tightly to press down her sob. She continued but her voice kept trembling "I want this." Logan sighed, she looked very pitiful but trying to be strong. He returned his focus to the call "Fine. We will start preparations immediately" with that, he ended the call abruptly before shoving the phone into his pants pocket. He closed the space between them, his eyes softened as he held Olive's hands. His eyes darted between hers while consoling her "You do not need to pressure yourself at this time. About the Andersons, I have everything under control. Just sit and watch how I break them"Olive shook her head
Logan widened his eyes in shock but he couldn't even find the strength to pull her away from him. She was all emotional and fragile, he just allowed her to do the kissing which he soon started to reciprocate after a while. He kissed her so tenderly, his palm massaged her hair as if to soothe her nerves.Olive was kissing him but her tears kept rolling and her eyes turned drowsy, her red eyes took weak to stay awake.Logan felt the slow response and when he detached their lips, he found the woman sleeping soundly under him.Even in her sleep, her face still held a frown and he chuckled lightly before smoothing the lines between her brows. He looked at her again and a sigh escaped his lips. He couldn't imagine himself in her position for a day. He would go insane if he was to lose his mother, this was one of the reasons he planned to go easy on her for a while. He gently stroked her hair and tucked her to sleep before covering her up with the duvet. He turned off the lamp close to th
Irritation was evident on Logan's face when he saw how deviant Ravenna was. He scowled "Get out of my way!" He didn't know where this anger came from and why but he knew he hated all she said to his face. "Else...we’re over!" Hearing his last statement, Ravenna blinked twice, as if she was poured cold water, she started to stammer while complaining " You are-you are going to break up with me cause-cause of that bitch??" Surprise flashed across her face like a million times as she tried to make sense of his earlier words.Logan shook his head, he knew he didn't say that because of Olive but something else which he wasn't going to start explaining to her now "Just, Get out of my sight," he gritted out, his anger was still so bad.Ravenna broke down as she shifted away from the door, her usual tearing section was about to begin but Logan was hella impatient. He didn't even look at her face as he pulled the door open and dashed off as if someone dangerous was after his head.Seeing how h
A big smile flashed on Ravenna's face when she saw Logan. The clicking of her heels on the cemented floor made a dull echo as she walked towards them with a broad smile on her face."Hey, Babe" She grinned widely at him before tucking his sleeve.Logan sighed before glaring at Scott. He turned to look at her with a forced smile "Hey, Love. Come with me" Ravenna giggled as she followed Logan out of the place. They moved towards the dark corner of the house, leaving Scott alone.Scott sighed before matching towards the living room where the party was hosted.Logan took Ravenna to the back entrance but not into the VIP room Scott had told him about earlier. Logan turned towards various corners in the lobby, grateful that Scott didn't allow anyone into this side of the house. He guided her into Scott's guest room.Ravenna had a smirk on her face as she entered the room before Logan. He shut the door after them.Once in the confines of the room, away from the loud music and deafening cha
Logan grunted as his call was directed to a voicemail for the sixth time. He has been trying to get a hold of Olive for the past few minutes but his call was directed to voicemail. He had told her to return early and now, it was almost 8 Pm, he thought she’d come back by 6 pm so he decided to do things slowly while waiting for her.7 pm successfully rolled by and he had taken his shower, starting to dress up but she was not yet back from wherever she went to.She didn’t even say where she was going to, not like he wanted to know but he just wanted her to come back home already.‘Is she okay?’ That thought came to his head, remembering how solemn she looked before they parted ways earlier. And then, images of how her face looked swollen the previous night. He then remembered that his informant told him about the Anderson family’s involvement in Olive’s Mother's treatment.“She probably went to the hospital to visit her mother” he whispered to himself. Thinking that was why she had sa
Olive was like an angry bird all through the day. She was pissed as she got dressed and bid his family Goodbye. She kept pouting while he drove the car back to their house.Logan didn't say a word to her and just left her to herself because he was equally annoyed that she was openly flirting with London.Olive pressed her body to the door while looking out of the window, her arms were crossed around her chest. The silence in the car lingered for a while before Olive said with a thick angry voice "Drop me off at the station there. I need to head somewhere!" He removed his attention from the road to look at her, he didn't ask her where she was going, it wasn't his business anyway.Nobody said a word after that, Logan continued driving and soon, he parked his car a little distance from where the bus station was. Olive hurriedly tried to open the door but he quickly held her arm, making her snap her head towards his direction with a glaring look."Come home early though, I don't care whe
When Olive woke up the next morning, she woke up to an empty bed with just herself.Logan was gone. She stretched out her arms but her nose was clogged. Probably due to snot. She gazed around the room before a sigh escaped her lips. The early morning sun brightened up the room, giving it a warm feeling.Olive grumbled while getting off the bed, her hair was all messy and her face was covered in drool and dried tears. When she came face to face with the mirror in Logan’s bathroom, she almost screamed out her lungs. She was looking like a mad woman with that disheveled hair and stained face. She drooled the previous night and it was just so clear on her face. Without wasting time, she turned on the water faucet. She placed her hand under to fetch some water and she quickly washed her face clean. She sighed again as she stared at herself in the mirror.Olive looked like shit. She didn’t realize when she fell asleep last night and it seems she had a great sleep due to how relieved she wa
After Olive left, Logan took his phone and sent Revenna a text. Logan—{Hey Babe. I'm sorry but I won't be able to come over tonight as I promised. Something happened}Just as his text was sent, his phone started to vibrate. He sighed when he saw that Ravenna was the caller. He didn't need to be told that she had seen the text but wanted to cry over it again. He really couldn't pick up the call because he was at his parent's house and the doors are not soundproofed like his. He declined the call but she was persistent as she kept calling. He almost wanted to switch off the phone. The third call came in and he was about to answer the phone call in annoyance when the bathroom door clicked open. The sound was a bit creaky and it made him look up from his phone.Olive just came out of the bathroom. His eyes scanned her face, it seemed she had washed her face but her face were swollen...especially her eyes.He dropped the phone on the bed and it made a ding sound, indicating an incoming t
