Luna was packing her bag as anguish gripped her body. She didn't want to leave, didn't want to, but she knew James wouldn't let her go with him.

Portia was still sleeping and her heart shrank at the thought of not being able to say goodbye to her. According to James, he wouldn't have to be gone too long as he planned to end the whole situation in less than a day, if there was a chance.

The house was going to be monitored and his phone was going to be tracked. It was not easy to get through to the owner of an unknown line, but he could not find any other option than that to reach Angelica. He hadn't heard from her since she had left her job at the office.

"I told you not to yell at me, you little bastard!" she yelled as she hit Michael. He sighed in pain.

"Please!" the young man begged.

"Where's my money? I don't see it anywhere. You have three seconds. Speak." commanded James.

"Please...My..."

He fired.

Angelica appeared and wearing latex gloves opened a dresser drawer. From it, she

That's all, you can leave..."She quickly left the place, making the sound of her shoes echo loudly within the four walls.James's day began at five o'clock in the morning. Portia woke up feeling nauseous and he rushed her to the hospital. That night she went to bed at three in the morning, so two hours of sleep had been all she could get, and it was very inconvenient. His eyes were closing and seemed to slowly drift down his retinas, although he tried not to make a big deal of it. He had to finish his work so he could get the hell out of here.He picked up his phone."Hello, Rose...just calling to check on Portia, put her through," he said. "Hello, sweetheart, how are you?," with a smile on his face, his voice changed completely. "Really? That's great. I'm gonna see you soon. What? It's not easy to get one...I know, baby, I promised you, I know. Listen, well...go

Luna read Samuel's letter while, between sighs, watched that movie she loved so much. She got distracted from time to time and had to go back to reading from the beginning. This boy was driving her crazy, not in a good way. He was driving her crazy, hysterical.... Every day she received a letter from him, asking for forgiveness, begging her...it was totally annoying. She stopped concentrating on the letter and went straight to her laptop. She hadn't checked her notifications in a while and thought maybe she would have one or two, maybe three emails, she didn't have many friends and mostly hung out with the girls she knew from work. She opened his e-mail, and to her surprise, she had 29 unopened ones. She opened the first one, it was from her mother. She answered everything very briefly, she didn't get along with her but he still loved her. Their relationship had become stormy when she found out how much she had alienated her from her father. She wasn't a bad mother, if somewhat overpr

James waited impatiently for his coffee while flipping through some gossip magazine on the coffee table. He had managed to get away from work for a little while and traveled quickly in his private jet. The trip had taken about three hours and he had arrived right on time.Last Tuesday he had sent several emails, until two days later he decided to fly to Seattle. After catching the flight, he sent a few more emails quoting Luna at the agency and when she responded, he was already in town. The clock had him too desperate. He was already getting nervous, though he tried not to show it."Um, excuse me?," a young woman asked, standing in front of him. A young woman asked, standing in front of him. She sat down across from him. He looked up, "Are you James?," he nodded, "Oh, nice to meet you, I'm Luna""A pleasure, Miss Scaloni" he said with a gentile smile on his face."Have you come all the way from New York?" She asked shyly."Yes." He adjusted his tie. "I'm sorry I sounded so...pressure

James started walking, and Luna quickly followed him. After a few seconds, she could distinguish the large champagne-colored van."Get in." He said as he opened the door. She climbed into the passenger side and quickly James climbed in beside her."Well, for this week, I'll tell you some rules you'll have to follow." He said seriously, although he was quite happy. "Not to be too strict, it'll just be a few.""That's all right.""You'll write these down mentally. Rule number one: you will do with Portia only what I allow you to do. I have already experienced uncomfortable situations with other nannies, and I don't think it's good for them to do something with my daughter that I wouldn't do with her, or allow. Rule number two: you can ask her certain questions, but I will tell you which ones you CANNOT ask. Nothing about her mother or family in general. About her grandmother, maybe. Rule number three: if you stay, you will be assigned a room. Your house, my house. But you can't bring st

The heat was abounding in New York. It was a sunny enough morning to set up a pool right there. It had been 19 and a half hours since James and Luna had left Seattle. It had been a drastic change for her to leave the way she had, but it had been her first reaction, and if everything went wrong, she could come back as promised. She had no relatives besides her mother, or anything like that, so it just didn't matter much. When they arrived, a black van was waiting for them outside the building they had gone to after the airport. Luna seemed a little surprised to see how he was being treated in New York, even though he himself had told her not to get carried away by it.He came across as a serious, stubborn, complicated and rather annoying man at times. He was someone quite determined, and would not take "no" for an answer under any circumstances. They expected to arrive before eleven o'clock in the morning, and of course, he would find himself with a little one trying to find out where

The imaginary water fell into the cup Portia had given Luna. They had finished gathering every feather in the room, and then Portia had found the perfect place to hide the bag; under her bed.James still hadn't shown up, Rose hadn't either, although sooner or later she would have to talk to her."Would you like something with your tea, Luna?" she said in some kind of British accent. Quite original."Sugar, please." she asked politely."Well, here you are." she said handing over a small white cup.Luna poured herself some sugar I would imagine and tasted her tea."It's delicious!" Lun exclaimed, smiling. Portia mimicked her."I made it myself." she confessed proudly."Well, you make wonderful tea.""Yes, thank you." she smiled. "Are you a friend of Dad's?""Yes, I am.""He doesn't usually have many people over, unless it's Uncle Peter. He doesn't usually spend much time with me.""Oh, doesn't he? Well, I'm sure he'll spend a little more time with you now.""Really?""Yes.""Do you want

James held Portia gently as they stood in line for tickets. The theater was too big and there were too many people waiting to get in.He was too anxious and desperate to get a ticket and get out to the theater, but there were still about 4 people ahead of him and there was nothing they could do to get ahead of him."Luke could be here waiting in line for us" He said gruffly."But Portia wanted to get in line" Luna said subtly. He looked at her threateningly."I just said we could have saved ourselves this annoying line. You could also buy tickets over the phone, or online, but no..."He said angrily. Luna laughed "Did I say something funny?""Nothing, James".The line was going too slow. Luna understood, they had been in line for 20 minutes and he just wanted to get out of the place. Although considering how little they did these activities together, what did it cost him? From James's reaction, it was understandable that he hadn't been with Portia too long and maybe this was something

    - How was the movie, huh? -James asked, holding Portia. The little girl smiled as her father carried her. The movie was over and they left the theater along with Luke.- I liked it. It was good - she said in a relaxed manner. James smiled.-Just good?- Excellent! - she shouted.-And what did you think, Luna? -he asked with a smile. He looked different smiling.-It was...good. I've been waiting to see that movie. Very much - she said smiling. James looked at her for a few seconds.-Did something happen? I've noticed you looking a little strange. - He asked looking at her attentively. Luna blushed.-No, nothing, it's just that I need to get used to the situation. You know... changing cities very fast. -She said nervously and giggled.-Okay? -He said smiling- Come on, honey. -He said and took her hand.James motioned for Luna to get in the van, took the girl's hand and then climbed in.James talked to Luke for a few seconds and then climbed into the van.An awkward silence filled the ca

James's house was no longer the mess it had been when he had left. Portia had been watching the window for several minutes as she couldn't wait for her father to arrive. She was a born party lover and wasted no opportunity to exploit the situation to the fullest.Luna, meanwhile, was distracted by her computer in the kitchen. Clare had been telling her a couple of anecdotes about Mitchell and he sounded like a completely unusual man. James had told her that in his teenage years he had become one of her main father figures. After all, his father had died and Mitchell was the only one who had been there for him without wanting to sabotage him.He was writing an email to his mother when his phone vibrated. He ignored it for a few seconds but then it did again. He looked at it quickly and the unusual message caught his attention. He picked up the phone and read. What?"See you soon, Luna. You can't keep me away if I don't go alone."He chose to ignore it and with a distorted mind, left it

    - Come on, come on. Where's Portia? - James asked, looking at his mother. She looked at him wearily.- She's with Luna. Can't you hear me? - she answered and went into her son's house.-It's getting late, I have to pick up Iris and it's a long way to the castle. -He said as he followed his mother. When he entered, he sat down on the sofa.-Calm down a little, there is still a long way to go before the ceremony begins. - she answered, trying to calm her son down.He was hysterical. The house was in complete disarray. Rose was not there, her mother had woken up at some crazy time in the morning and then had spent an enormous amount of hours getting ready.-What's taking so long? -he asked wearily. His mother snorted.-Go get Iris and then come back for us.James looked at her for a few seconds.- Okay, but can you please be ready for me when I get there?Clare, his mother, watched him walk away as he left the house. Her son was more nervous than usual. He had recently confessed to her h

James watched as his daughter was covered by a large white cloth."Portia, please, no.....""Sir, you must step away." requested the man covered in that white smock he hated so much. James began to gasp."You can't take me away from her." he shouted and ran to the girl's body. He slowly uncovered Portia. Her face was white and cold. Hair fell delicately down the sides of the girl's face that had once been full of life. He looked at her with despair."Portia, please..."She sobbed uncontrollably as a giant pain shattered her heart. She was dead.-James stood up with his breath hitching. His chest was rising and falling rapidly, as tears streamed from his eyes like waterfalls. He looked around carefully, he began to calm down. She was in her room, it had all been a dream.-James? -asked a voice behind him. He jumped. It was Luna.He remembered everything that had happened the night before in a second. He looked at her carefully, she was only covered by the thin blue sheet fabric, her h

James looked at Collin with boredom. The guy kept talking about his stupid engagement, about how much money he'd spent on his car, about everything he did. He was a total idiot. He just wanted to go home. To be honest, he never liked those kinds of events. He only attended because Edward had invited him, the others, he hardly ever went to.The dinner went on like that: Collin, Collin, questions about his father, questions about his work, Collin, awkward questions about Sarah, and finally, Edward's extensive stories. After an hour, it was finally time to go home. What could I do?Portia was gone, Rose was gone, and Luna was mad at him. What would he do? Surely he would have to go in quietly, and go to sleep. And he didn't want to sleep. Shit, he didn't want to.Edward was at the door dismissing each of his guests.James walked toward her.-Hey, James! Thanks for coming, really. - smiled Edward.-No need, it's been my pleasure.-How is Portia?-She's perfect, her health has been impecca

James looked at Collin as he continued to talk about his engagement and how happy he was about it. He was looking at him with tremendous seriousness, while Collin was looking at him menacingly and rubbing his nose in every one of his personal victories.-And I mean, I plan on getting married later this year, don't I Jessica? -he asked the young woman sitting next to him. She looked at him with a smile.-Of course, love.James made a disgusted face, unconsciously.-Is something wrong, Yorke? -asked Edward, another partner, amused. Everyone at the table turned to look at him.James laughed.-Nothing, I'm sorry. I mean, engagement is usually a great thing, isn't it? You know, that whole stage is usually filled with revelations about our lovers.- I agree. - Edward replied. - My mother always told me that if you get through the wedding process, you can get through anything.- Sure, I'm sure Collin can handle it, can't he? - he asked. Collin looked at him with fury in his eyes as he laughe

An incoming call from Peter startled James. He was falling asleep.-Hello," he answered curtly.-Hey, how are you feeling?-Fine. - he replied dryly. Peter laughed.- Good, take care of yourself, huh. Listen, I wanted to ask you if I could call Luna.- What? Why?- Well, if you don't have a problem I'd like to ask her if she'd like to come with me to Andrews' party.James looked at the floor in confusion. What?- No.-Why?-He's going with me.-Why is that?- Well, I asked him.- Well, so you like him after all. I knew it.-No, don't be absurd. I can't go alone, and I wouldn't put up with another smug date. Besides, I know Luna, it'll be interesting.- You don't think she might misinterpret the invitation?-How?- Well, you know...it could happen.- No, Luna wouldn't believe that. Besides...no.It felt absurd to say that. Of course, she might misinterpret the invitation after the scene they'd made in her room. She preferred to avoid that part of the story.-What about you?- I'm not i

James was in the front.-I could drive - he exclaimed angrily.-No, you can't. I think the doctor clearly explained that you couldn't overexert yourself.-What does that matter?-No, you won't.-Yes, I will. - he answered looking at her even more angry.-Would you rather do what you want and be physically unhealthy or take care of yourself for a while and be fine? - she scolded him.- Don't put me in a bad mood. - he said in a whisper.-Now, shut your mouth! - he exclaimed.-I don't know why I let you talk to me like that. - he complained.-I don't either, honestly. I don't dislike it, though.-Ah, well, do you like it? For what reason, may I ask? - he asked looking at her intently. She took a breath.-Because it helps you realize that you're not the boss of everyone.-I don't think I'm the boss of everyone, it's something totally different. - he defended himself.-You give orders and expect everyone to obey you," he growled.-And what do you want?
