Chapter 1: Graduating with honors.

Anita Baker recently graduated from university. She is 24 years old and her parents' first daughter. She has five younger sisters. Her father is a banker, and her mother is a trader.

She has a fair complexion, a very attractive figure, and gorgeous, voluptuous hips. All of her sisters were dark, except for her, who was pale in color.

Anita resembles her mother but is more lovely. Her father often accuses her mother of cheating on him, and he doubts he is her father because she is so fair-skinned, but her mother has always kept quiet about it, telling her not to worry about her father and that she is his child.

Anita's father even threatened to perform a DNA test on her since he couldn't understand why she was so fair compared to the rest of her sisters.

Her immediate younger sister, Flora, a dark-skinned beauty of 22 years old, also dislikes her.

About four of her sisters despised her, with the exception of her youngest sister, Glory Baker, who actually loved her.

They say blood is thicker than water, but in Anita's case, water is thicker than blood.

Mr. Joshua Baker did not stop at sending Anita to school; instead, he accused his wife of cheating on him in the past and forcing another man's child on him. So he could marry her, but he also sent Anita to university to study business management.

Anita is ecstatic as she writes her final exams, and the results come back with flying colors.

Well, because of her father's continual charges against her composed mother, Mrs. Tonia Baker, Anita has refused to accept any relationship with any man who has asked her out to be his girlfriend.

She merely goes on a date with them and rejects their love proposals.

Her best friend from university, Temisa Patrick, has also persuaded her to give love a try. But Anita refused, saying, "My father was constantly accusing my mother of cheating on him. He still went to her to get her pregnant, and she gave birth to all six of us. My mother claims that my father loves her, yet his daily insults to her demonstrate that he does not love her at all."

Anita shook her head in sadness as she spoke to her best friend, Temisa Patrick, inside their room while they were still in year two at the exclusive institution.

Handsome men are vying for her attention, but she believes they are simply interested in using her, and once he has broken her virginity, he will change and dump her or accuse her of cheating on him. Similarly, how her father continually accused her mother of cheating on him and wished to throw both her mother and herself into sadness.

Anita sits on a chair in the private room she shares with Temisa Patrick. They were prepared for their school's final graduation.

"I'm very happy, Anita. Finally, we will be leaving the school. "I can't tell you how much I miss home already," Temisa admits.

"Me too," Anita said softly. She knows it wasn't totally genuine for her because she despises her home and knows she'll have to deal with her father's continual insults to her and her mother again.

Her three younger sisters—Flora, Esther, and Favor—will harass her, calling her an "outcast," since they were jealous of her looks, as if it was entirely her fault.

Anita shook her head in grief, which Temisa observed.

"What is it, girlfriend?" You don't appear to be happy, despite the fact that you are one of our university's top graduates," Temisa asked.

She stood up from her seat, which was facing the mirror, and came up to meet Anita, who was sitting alone on the chair, shaking her head in grief, rather than packing her box of clothes.

"What's the problem, dear?" Temisa inquired again as she approached and crouched in front of Anita, despite the fact that she already knew what the problem was.

Anita has informed her why she despises men in general and regards them as scumbags.

"Don't worry, girlfriend. When I return home, I'll talk to my mother about allowing you to come live with us, even if it's only for a while, until you have a better job to support yourself," Temisa offered.

"Thank you," Anita answered, smiling weakly at Temisa.

She knew Temisa cared about her, but she didn't want her to be worried.

"You're welcome, darling. You understand that you're like a sister to me. So don't worry too much, because graduating with a first class is no laughing matter here, and you should be delighted because today is your most fortunate day. Come sit here, and I'll help you apply makeup to your face," Temisa replied, gently pulling Anita up from her seat and walking with her to the chair facing the mirror in the room they share.

"You know I don't like makeup on my face," Anita adds as she sits on the chair that Temisa has dragged out in front of the room mirror.

"I understand, but this is your lucky day. So you should look good when you receive your prizes as the finest graduating student at our university today. No more excuses from you; please do this for me, okay? It will make you smile all day and lighten your attitude," Temisa says this as she opens one of her beauty kits and prepares her brush.

"Okay," Anita said, staring at her gorgeous yellow reflection in the mirror as Temisa began applying the beautiful brown powder to her face.

Temisa begins by working on Anita's eyelashes, then progresses to her cheeks and nose.

Temisa applies the lovely cosmetic powder on Anita's face, and when she is finished, Anita is stunned by her new appearance in the mirror, and she exclaims, "Wow!"

Anita has never worn cosmetics before, and when she looks in the mirror, she is dumbfounded. She now knows why Temisa had so many lovers.

Temisa is a billionaire's daughter, and her father works for the Benson Group, one of the largest firms in their state.

The Benson family is also among the richest in their country. Anita has read about the Benson family online and wishes she could submit an application to work for the well-known company. This is why she studied her book and read all day and night in order to graduate as one of the top students in her department.

Anita had considered approaching Temisa for her father's assistance for an application in the Benson Group. But she knows if she did it, it may appear that she is attempting to win an undeserved favor, portraying herself as a gold digger or a lady who sells out her body to men in order to gain their favor.

So she reconsidered and decided to submit her own application to the company instead.

"All done now. Don't you see how lovely you appear in the mirror? Oh, my God! "I am the best makeup artist on campus," Temisa fanned herself with her fingers, blowing a breeze across her face.

Anita grins gently and says, "Don't overhype yourself because of me, girlfriend. Yes, you tried, but I still don't like cosmetics," Anita said.

"Tsk! Say nothing. I hope an attractive man sees you today and asks you out," Temisa giggles; everything to her revolves around relationships. She's actually cruel when it comes to relationships, as she switches boyfriends every month like trousers.

Temisa is in several relationships and is unconcerned about what her fellow females say.

She does not believe in love and instead spends her time dating other men. She never admits to sleeping with any of the guys she has gone on dates with; instead, she claims to have taken pictures with them.

This was tough to believe because Anita did not believe her. Since Temisa is frequently seen with different men, some were at the beach, some in a restaurant, and some in a clubhouse, shooting various shots with her. Nonetheless, she maintains that she is still a virgin, despite Anita's confirmation that she is as well.

Anita didn't believe Temisa because she believes that a virgin should be peaceful and keep to herself so that no man will use her. But Temisa dresses hot, wearing bum-shorts, crop tops, and other sexy and alluring outfits.

Temisa is a dark-skinned beauty with beautiful curves similar to Anita's. But she isn't jealous of Anita's pale skin because they are in the same department and studied the same course, which led to them being closest friends.

Anita is more intelligent than Temisa, who is more into partying.

"Let's go outside now. I'm sure most of our family members would have arrived for the party," Temisa says, swiftly packing her remaining belongings into her box. She keeps her make-up kits and closes her clothing box.

Temisa had rented the room where they were staying, so they spent the majority of their time there, despite the fact that school was closed.

It's their last year to say farewell. Anita brings out all of her clothing boxes, as she will be returning home after the award ceremony.

They come out to see the university's final event and the honoring of the finest graduating student.

Anita Baker is summoned and given a first-class award and acknowledgment for her academic achievements.

Temisa smiles as she sits in the crowd and claps for her best friend, who walks out from where she was seated to accept her honors.
