Mrs. Tonia didn't say anything after Flora exited the room; she sighed and walked to sit beside Anita on the bed, while Favour and Esther left the room as well.
"You shouldn't be harsh with your sister. Fighting with Flora wasn't necessary," Mrs. Tonia said to Anita as she sat next to her on the bed.
"I know, Mom, but they keep disrespecting me too much and it's getting out of hand," Anita replied.
"It's okay. I can understand, but don't change yourself because of them. Keep being my sweet and calm daughter," Mrs. Tonia advised.
"Okay, Mom." Anita sighed as she stared at their mother while Glory walked up to sit on the bed as well.
"I've got to go now and join your father. Glory, you should go now, pack your bags, and come join Anita here," Mrs. Tonia said. "Okay, Mom," Glory replied, standing up from the bed and walking out of the room to the space she shares with Lisa. Flora was already there, arranging her bag of clothes in the wardrobe, but she didn't say a word to Glory, who stepped in and carried her own box of clothes out.
Lisa sighed as she returned from the kitchen and found Flora in the room she used to share with Glory; she didn’t ask any questions since she also didn’t like Anita and Glory either.
Glory exited the room and went back to join Anita while Anita was busy texting Temisa, who instead called her. "Hello, girlfriend, how's home?" Temisa asked.
"All fine, and yours?" Anita replied.
"All good," Temisa responded sadly.
"What's up now? You don't sound too happy," Anita asked first.
"I know; it's a long story. Remember, my father didn't show up at the ceremony, and now he's asking for my results and telling me to submit them to the Benson group? You know I don't have any interest in working with them," Temisa said.
"What! That's good news. You should be happy. So quickly! You just graduated, and now you already have a job at your feet, unlike us, who would have to start wandering about the streets and companies submitting applications," Anita said.
"Hmmm, you can say that, but that's not what I want, at least not for now, and besides my results, I doubt I will get the job," Temisa complained.
"Hmph, that's well, girlfriend, but be happy at least; you have your father's support, unlike mine," Anita ranted, and the phone call went silent for a while.
"It's okay, Anita. But the truth is I'm not having too many high hopes about working with the BENSON group. I know they're the most sought-after company, but I'm not interested," Temisa deadpanned.
"Hmph, I know, Temisa, but you can still apply. I will be submitting mine there too, but I didn't want to bother you about it earlier nor ask you to help me talk to your father about it. If I submit mine now and they accept me, then we can work there together, and you won't be bored with office work again," Anita said.
"Really, do you plan to submit your CV with them too?" Temisa asked happily.
"Yes, but I didn't know your father also has plans for you to work there; I didn't want to bother you about it," Anita replied bashfully.
"Oh! There's no problem then; I will just submit my application and give you updates on when they approve me. Although you know this is through my father, so not too much stress," Temisa beamed.
"Yeah, lucky girl," Anita hyped her friend.
"Thank you, but I am only submitting because you said you would; if I don't get to see you there, then I will quit," Temisa informed Anita.
"Okay, I will, but let's hope they accept me too. Good night, girlfriend," Anita said as the call finally ended, after Temisa replied, "Yeah, good night too."
Anita puts her phone down and finds Glory in the room, arranging her box to fit into the wardrobe they previously shared with Flora. Anita sighs as all her siblings had dark skin, except for Lisa, Glory, and herself. Lisa has a fair brown complexion but is not white like Anita, while Glory has brown skin, and the rest are dark.
"Did Flora ask you anything when you went there and carried your box?" Anita asked.
"No," Glory responded, walking over to sit beside her on the bed after arranging her box in the wardrobe.
"I'm sorry for what happened earlier," Glory apologized faintly, and Anita smiled at her.
"It's okay. None of it was your fault. Let's just hope Flora, Favor, and Esther stop annoying me in this house," Anita said, smiling at Glory while placing her right palm on Glory's hand.
"Hmph, I hope they don't," Glory sighed.
"Okay, so what did you want to discuss with me before Flora interrupted us?" Anita asked.
"I just want to ask about your university. Is it too difficult to study business administration?" Glory inquired.
"No, it's not too stressful. You just have to stay focused and not get distracted by the guys and girls in your department who might be asking you out," Anita replied, turning off her laptop as she was already tired.
"So, you don’t have a boyfriend in school, or any guy that likes you?" Glory asked, surprising Anita.
"Glory! What do you know about boyfriends?" Anita questioned, her eyes wide open and wearing a smile unique to Glory.
"Okay, I don't have a boyfriend because I want to maintain my focus, and you shouldn't either," Anita advised her little sister as Glory continued to smile.
"Is that okay? You will show me your results for this term since I'll be around. I can be your extra tutoring teacher," Anita said to her sister. Glory jumped up happily from the bed and hugged Anita tightly.
"Thank you, big sis," Glory said.
"You're welcome. Can I breathe now?" Anita asked as Glory almost suffocated her with her tight hugs and chubby body.
"Okay, let me go and relieve myself before sleeping," Glory said as she released Anita and walked to the restroom while Anita sighed and decided to play with her Android phone since it was getting late.
Anita chose to browse information about the Benson Group to learn about the company. She typed the search button for the Benson Group of Companies and saw recent news updates on her phone screen. She read through some recent articles and noticed the new handling of company ownership by Master Liam Jackson, and she sighed.
Anita stared at the photos from the company's conference hall and then down to the photos of the new CEO.
Lost in her thoughts and search, Anita doesn’t even notice when Glory steps out, climbs onto the bed, and drifts to sleep.
Anita sighs as she hears Glory snoring and sleeping peacefully behind her on the bed while she scrolls through the timeline posts of the new CEO, checking his profile page, which doesn’t have many updates about him.
Anita sighs and finally clicks on his profile picture, wanting to see the new boss with whom she will work in the future if her CV is accepted. However, as she stares at his display picture and notes the date it was posted—six years ago—she realizes he looks younger in the photo, making her sigh again. She leaves his profile page to browse for how to submit her application letter instead.
Anita finally finds an available application form and checks for the positions left. While copying the company’s email address, she decides to write a letter of application to them, as that is the only way to submit an application to work with the company.
Feeling tired, Anita decides to type a fresh letter of application to the Benson Group the following day. After copying the company’s email address, she places her phone on the shelf and drifts off to sleep in her bed.

The following morning, upon waking up, Anita hears her father scream, "No!" Immediately, she jumps out of bed and rushes out of her room to find out what happened.
"What’s going on?" They all gather in the living room as their father sits on the couch, his palms on his head as he fights back tears.
"Mom, what's the problem?!" they ask, and she shakes her head in silence, pacing the living room.
"Dad, what’s wrong?" Flora asks, sitting beside their father, but he shakes his head in regret, wiping away the tears that threaten to fall.
"Mom?" Anita approaches her mother and holds her folded arms.
"What’s the matter, Mom?" Anita asks, and Mrs. Tonia finally responds, "I don’t really know, Anita. Your father got a call this morning, and the next moment I heard him scream while discussing with the caller; I don’t know what the problem is." Mrs. Tonia glances at her husband, noticing he is trying so hard to hold back his tears. He finally stands up from the couch, already dressed in a deep blue suit, ready to leave for work as if it were a fresh Friday morning, but he sighs and walks back to his room, shaking his head regretfully.
"Father!" Anita, Flora, and Favour first rushed up to their father, but their mother quickly stopped them. "You girls should let your father be; I will talk to him and find out what the problem really is," Mrs. Tonia said to them.
"Are you sure, Mom?" they asked in confusion, wanting to see their father. "Yes. Just give him some time; I am sure he will finally let us know what the problem is."
Anita couldn't say anything after their mother left and walked back to the room to be with their father. She sighed and stared at Flora, who seemed worried, as they walked back to sit on the couch. "What do you think is the problem?" Esther asked Flora, but Flora shook her head and replied, "I don't know, but I am worried about something serious." They sat back on the couch, waiting for their parents to step out and talk to them. Anita sighed and walked back to her room, unsure of the problem, but believing her mother would inform them later, even though her father might not want to.Anita saw her father was already dressed to leave for work before receiving the news that left him devastated. She prayed silently in her heart, "Let it not be that my father has lost his job." Anita shook her head and walked back into her room, feeling her father's screams echo in her mind, believing it had something to do with his office work. She sat on her bed and picked up her phone to type he
Liam walks into his office and takes his seat in his executive chair. He swivels the seat sideways, staring at his office.Smiling, he rolls up his sleeves to start his new day in the office. He leans forward on his desk and switches on his computer to check the company's records, waiting for the computer to boot.Liam counts the time as he waits for the computer to finish booting. Just then, his secretary knocks, and he responds, "Come in."Margret walks into his office holding a file, and she smiles faintly at him, staring downward a little."Yes... what's your name again?" Liam asks her as he stares at her pretty face."Margret Jonathan," she says with a smile."Okay, Miss Margret, what do you want, or how can I help you?" Liam asks, and she steps forward."Sir, Mr. John Patrick brought this file this morning, and he said I should hand it over to you," she replies, looking at him."Okay, come drop it here." Liam points to the side of his desk that has empty space with only a few fil
"Hello, Boss," Margret immediately picks up the office line and receives the call."Come into my office right away," Liam responds. Margret gulps and quickly stands up from her office seat, dropping the phone line. She sees Bambam smiling at her as Bambam prepares to attend to the client sitting in front of her. Some clients step into Margret's secretary office to see her too, but she immediately directs them to other staff working on the third floor office to attend to them. As she knows the new boss doesn't like to be kept waiting.Margret immediately walks towards Liam's office door and knocks. She hears his cold voice response, "Come in."Margret swallows as she opens the office door and walks into Liam's exquisite office to see him."What took you so long to respond to my call?" Liam questions, as he continues typing on his computer, not shifting his gaze away from the monitor screen, as his fingers click faster on the keyboard."I'm sorry, Boss. I arrived late from lunch," Margr
Temisa is in her father's mansion; their home is a standard duplex in a government-owned estate, which her father bought as a new house."Father, have you submitted my CV and letter of application to the new boss?" Temisa asks, as her father steps into the living room. She sits on the couch, filing and brushing her long nails.Mr. John just stares at his daughter. Instead of standing up to welcome him, she comfortably sits on the couch, filing her long nails and asking him questions as if he's her errand boy."Temisa, you're quite unbelievable. Not even a welcome greeting from you to your father?" Mr. John asks, as he drops his briefcase on the living room center table and slowly loosens his necktie."I'm sorry, father. Good evening, father. Welcome." Temisa drops her legs down from the couch where she had previously rested them and continues filing her long nails."Where's your mother?" Mr. John asks, and Temisa responds, "Mom went to the market to refill the house with foodstuffs.""
"Mom, I cannot work with them if that's what their new boss now wants from them," Temisa refuted as she stood up from the couch. She had been sitting with her mother when Felicia left with the car key to offload the car's boot."I can understand you, Temisa, but know that your father went through the stress to get your application submitted to their boss. It will be very insulting to your father if, after their new boss approves you, you fail to resume with them. Remember, your results aren't even the best, and yet they want you to work with them," Mrs. Bianca said."But mother..." Temisa was lost for words as she stared at her mother, a beautiful, full-figured black woman."Just think about it, Temisa, and be easy on yourself. You're lucky your father is doing all this to get you to the top among your peers. He told me personally that the CEO's father wants you to be engaged with his son, and the only way you can be engaged with his son is by getting closer to him and building a bond
In the kitchen, Felicia was busy dishing out the delicious Oha soup she had prepared. She was serving it on smaller soup plates when she heard the kitchen door click open. Felicia turned to see who it was, and seeing Martin, she quickly looked away, wondering what he wanted in the kitchen.Martin stared at her back and down to her slim, curvy waist. He liked her, and even though he had a girlfriend, he wasn't in love with her as much as he loved Felicia. He knew he was supposed to see Felicia as his sister, but they weren't related by blood, and he didn't even know how to approach Felicia and tell her about his true feelings. Whenever he wanted to discuss his feelings with her, he felt stuck, unable to get the words out.He had watched her grow and had always admired her, knowing his mother liked her too. So he stood by the kitchen door, scratching his head confusedly as he thought about Felicia. He wanted her badly, but she was still considered his sister, and he hated to admit they w
Felicia was absentminded as she stepped into her bathroom to take a quick shower, splashing water on her long blonde hair. She scrubbed her body and her big breasts, quickly rinsing off the soapy water under the shower.Felicia finally stepped out of the bathroom and was shocked to see Martin standing in her room beside her bed, still in his singlet top and blue shorts. Felicia almost screamed, but Martin rushed to her and covered her mouth with his palm, hushing her."Shush!" Martin hushed her, holding her closely. Felicia shook her head for him to let go, scared of what he wanted as it was already late.Martin finally let go of her mouth and stepped away. Felicia quickly held up her towel tightly as it almost loosened, revealing her shaken, bare body."What are you doing here?" Felicia finally asked him in a trembling voice, feeling her heart pounding in her chest."I came here to see you and apologize for what happened earlier, but I discovered you were taking your bath, so I decide
Temisa sighed after Martin left her, realizing he wouldn't support her as she had thought. "Ugh!" Temisa gritted her teeth in anger and stomped her foot while sitting on the couch. She screamed, "He cares for Felicia more than me, his own sister. They all care for Felicia." Temisa stared back at the television displaying her favorite Bollywood movie, grimaced, and finally picked up the remote from the center table to switch it off.She walked back upstairs to her room to chat with her bestie, as she missed Anita so much and wished Anita could come live with her. Anita, too, didn't like her family, just like her.Temisa missed her school life because she wouldn't have to see Felicia or her mother showing the "silly white witch" love. She growled, "Argrrh!" gritting her teeth in anger and scattering her hair. She then stepped into her room and slammed the door hard.Martin was in his room when he heard Temisa grunting and screaming. He shook his head, knowing Temisa was still refusing to
Liam doesn't say anything as he stands watching the two friends reunite and forgive each other. They finally stand up, and Temisa walks over to see the twin babies in their little baby bed in the living room."Wow, they look so much like Liam, but my baby resembles me more than Alfred," Temisa says, while Anita only smiles at her."It's all good, girlfriend. I wish you both a happy married life, and I will be your bridesmaid on your wedding day," Temisa proposes, and Anita shakes her head."Flora already filled that position. You will only join the train.""Okay, dear. I have to be on my way now. You know I just darted out from the house as soon as Alfred told me about your babies and that you're here with Liam. Take good care of yourself, girlfriend, as you look slim," Temisa says, while Anita nods to her."I will. Let me escort you," Anita feels all the previous heaviness in her heart disappear, and she walks out of the mansion with Temisa. They walk to the garage where Temisa's car
Mrs. Tonia quickly greets Mrs. Juliet, "Good evening, ma'am.""Yes, welcome. Let's go in first," Mrs. Juliet ushers them into her living room. Just then, Mr. Taiye walks in too and sees the visitors, noticing Liam carefully carrying a baby in his arms. He recognizes the familiar lady as his son's secretary and immediately knows the babies are the result of the encounter they had in Liam's office."Good evening, Father," Liam happily greets his father. Mr. Taiye nods to all their greetings, while Anita nervously stares downward, feeling uncomfortable, remembering Mr. Taiye had warned her to stay clear of his son and never show her face in his company again."Mother, here are your grandkids," Liam walks over to meet his mother, who is sitting on the living room couch. He carefully places the baby boy in her arms, and Mrs. Juliet is still in shock as Liam never told her his secretary was pregnant or that he was bringing his babies home.Mr. Taiye is the most confused as he remembers he w
"Are you married?" Liam finally asks, sounding hurt. Anita shakes her head and replies, "No.""Then how come the babies?" Liam asks as he finally saunters over to meet her. He has missed her so much, and he doesn't look himself because of her."Anita," Liam finally approaches her, and she turns to face him, and he sees she's crying."I'm sorry," Anita cries, and Liam crosses the thin line between them and hugs her warmly."It's okay. I've missed you. I do love you," Liam comforts her in a hug, hoping whoever got her pregnant or married her doesn't step in and catch him hugging his wife.Anita wants to pull away from Liam as she inhales his cologne, realizing she's crying into his chest, but Liam hugs her tighter and raises her chin to face him."Don't you miss me?" he asks, and Anita sniffs."I do," she replies."And you don't want to kiss me or welcome me?"Anita finally raises her head properly and looks up at Liam's face.He looks sick too, so unlike him, and his beard is overgrown
Anita doesn't say anything as she watches her mother dress up in a green gown while she breastfeeds her little daughter, who sucks a lot, wanting to drain the remaining energy she has left."I have to go out now and buy everything we will need to eat tonight. There's no food in the kitchen, and I don't want to disturb Mama and her in-law.""Okay, Mom."Anita watches her mother walk out of the room. She carefully places her little girl down and walks to her phone to see all the text messages Liam sent to her. Her heartbeat increases as she unlocks her phone screen. She sees a lot of texts from him and love emojis and she smiles, staggering backward to sit on her bed to read his texts."What happened to you? Your mom said you got discharged from the hospital. Are you alright now? Not to worry, I will be coming down to your village to see you. But why did you shut us all out? I have really missed you. Honestly, I cannot stop thinking about the love we made, and I'm glad your mom finally
Mrs. Tonia pulls away from the mother-to-daughter hug and stares at Anita's face."It's okay, stop crying. Why did you run away, and who did you sleep with?" Mrs. Tonia questions as she walks to look at her grandkids. She stares at the two cute babies who are also awake and staring at her. She gasps in surprise as she isn't mistaken—the babies look so much like Liam, the CEO of Benson Group. She stares back at Anita, who’s also looking at her, and then back at the twin babies in their baby bed."Anita, who got you pregnant?" Mrs. Tonia asks again while Alice finally walks over to hold her hand."We can discuss this at home. Let it rest while we leave the hospital first."Mrs. Tonia sighs and looks from Alice to Anita and back to her grandbabies. They're so cute and fair, and now she knows why the CEO has kept on asking her about Anita. So he's the one that got her daughter pregnant and slept with Anita the very day he delayed her at work and made her return home late.Mrs. Tonia tries
Anita wakes up that evening with a light headache. She sits up in her bed and eats the dinner Alice brought for her from home."How are you feeling now? You need to breastfeed your babies and not starve them," Alice says. Anita finally looks at them as her eyes clear, and seeing one of them crying, Alice speaks to her."She's a girl, while the calm one here is a boy." Alice hands over the baby girl to Anita, who stares at her beautiful daughter's face. Her baby girl looks so much like Liam; even though she's very fair like her, her baby's short curly hair and round cute face resemble Liam so much. Anita's heart skips a beat as she keeps staring at her baby instead of breastfeeding her."Why are you still staring at her? Give her your breast milk" Alice finally yells at Anita, snapping her out of her daze. Anita opens up her shirt and breastfeeds her baby. The little girl in her arms stops crying after a while as she sucks on her breast. As if the second baby is aware, he resumes cryin
"I know," Liam replies and smiles back."But I still miss Anita and want to see her account," he says."Tell me the truth, boss. Do you just miss Anita, or are you in love with her and have a crush on her?" Temisa asks, and she sees Liam smile, which already answers her question."Just send me Anita's profile name. Let me search for her first.""Okay, I will," Temisa replies as she sits up properly."What about Alfred?" Liam finally asks her as he sees her sit up."He's not yet home. You know he runs the hotels and club too, cheating on me," Temisa pouts."He's not. He complains about you starving him," Liam tells her, and Temisa gasps."He said that? I know Alfred is so shameless," Temisa replies, and just then Alfred returns and walks into their room, as they both use one room together. Even though the room was his before she moved into his family house. His mother had insisted they must share a room together as a couple, and he clearly heard her call him a shameless man."Who are y
The line goes still for a while."Which sister are you talking about?" Barrister Jude asks."Oh, I just remembered I have her number, as her husband's case is with me. Mrs. Tonia, of course. Don't you know your sister again?" Mr. Collins questions."Oh, you mean her daughter is in the village? Which one?""I don't know her name yet, but she's white and very fair. She just gave birth to twins, making your sister a grandmother now.""Oh! You mean Anita?" Barrister Jude asks."Is that her name? Well, I don't know. I'm just seeing her for the first time now. Let me contact your sister then. I forgot I recently got her number due to her husband's case."Mr. Collins quickly ends the call, not giving Barrister Jude any more chances to question him. He cannot believe the silly man didn't want to help his in-law because of some past silly stories. He had to pity Mrs. Tonia and helped her case as he used to admire her when she hadn't married Mr. Joshua."Hello," Mr. Collins stands outside the h
Liam stares downward, not wanting to meet Mrs. Tonia's angry gaze, as he suspects she knows about the night he made love to Anita, but probably doesn't know who exactly slept with her.Was that why Anita left? What's really going on? he wonders."Actually, ma'am, I heard from her friend that she's going through a lot, and I don't know if I can help, but perhaps that will make her return.""Help with what? Just leave!" Mrs. Tonia shuts her door on Liam, not giving him a chance to speak.Did Anita's boss force himself on her? Mrs. Tonia wonders as she walks back to her parlor.Staring at the man, she sees him as a calm person with good moral upbringing, but is he the one that slept with her daughter and also bit and sucked on Anita's neck?If only Anita had told her the truth before she left, she wouldn't be rude to him, but she cannot help it. She behaves rudely because she misses her daughter so much.Liam leaves the building and walks back to his car.He knows her mother suspects him
