Jane's recovery progressed rapidly, much to everyone's relief. Within just two days, the doctor informed them that Jane could be discharged soon.

Grateful for Dean's attentive care during her hospital stay, Jane couldn't shake the nagging conviction that their closeness should cease once they left the confines of the hospital walls. Despite the warmth she felt in his presence, she understood the importance of maintaining boundaries as they returned to their separate lives.

As Mae busily packed their belongings, preparing for Jane's discharge from the hospital, Dean burst into the room with a vibrant bouquet of flowers in hand.

"It's a happy day, Jane! I'm so glad to see you're recovering," he exclaimed, his voice filled with relief and happiness.

Jane offered a faint smile in response. "Thank you," she murmured softly.

Dean nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Let me take those things so I can put them in the car," he suggested, reaching for the bags Mae had packed.
