Book 3 Chapter 5

In the dimly lit basement, Jane cowered in fear as Dean's rage boiled over. His eyes burned with anger, and his fists clenched tightly at his sides.

"You... you did this to Kaitlyn," Dean seethed, his voice dripping with venom. "You destroyed our chance at happiness. You destroyed our child."

Jane trembled, her heart pounding in her chest as she tried to shrink away from Dean's looming figure.

Dean's hand shot out, the force of the slap sending Jane reeling backward. Pain exploded across her cheek and she tasted blood in her mouth as she stumbled against the wall.

"You're lying! You did this on purpose. You wanted to destroy us," he accused, his fist tightening painfully as he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her across the room.

Tears welled up in Jane's eyes as she tried to protest, but Dean's words cut through her like a knife.
