Chapter 5
Sienna POV I walked towards my suite with a soft smile escaping from my lips while scrolling through my phone. Just at the moment, a call came into my cellphone. I picked up almost immediately. “Did you see the news?” The anonymous voice asked me. I immediately nodded. Of course, I saw it, and I was more than excited at the moment. “Yes, and I’m in love with it. I will talk to you later. Thanks for the good work.” I told the voice and hung up. The smile on my face grew even wider, shining so brightly that it nearly blinded anyone who looked at me. Seeing the rumour of Lucas circulating the internet, I was so in love with it. I smiled brightly as I approached my suite, where I had left Daphne. I frowned slightly at the thought of Daphne. I had left Daphne behind in the suite after she had chosen to nag me the whole day just because she wanted to see her father. The same man who abandoned her even at the point of death. She chose someone else over her! I breathed deeply, trying to calm myself down, but it wasn’t working. I wanted nothing at the moment than to completely ruin Lucas along with Lisa. Just the thought of everything made my eyes stained with tears, but I soon ignored everything. I was happy at the moment about Lucas’s news, and I wanted to concentrate only on that. I opened the door of the suite and swayed my hips in. My eyes immediately scanned around the room, but strangely, I was welcomed by a great calmness that resided in the room. I was expecting to meet Daphne foaming with anger, but there was no sign of her anywhere. “She would probably be in the bathroom.” I thought I slumped on one of the sofas, checking out more news on the internet. After a few minutes, I dropped my phone, and my brows furrowed slightly. Even though I had been inside the room for quite some time, there was no sign of Daphne anywhere. There was no groggy sound of water coming from the bathroom. “Daphne,” I called and stood up from where I sat. I approached the bathroom and pushed the door open. The fresh smell of shampoo I bought in Mexico for Daphne hit me. “Daphne? Where are you?” I called out for Daphne, but yet there was no sight of her anywhere. My brows snapped together furiously as I was hit by reality. Daphne was missing! “Daphne, where are you? Is this a sort of prank? Stop it now!” I screamed as I took a quick glance around the house, hoping it was just a mere prank. But no matter how much I searched, I couldn’t find her. I couldn’t find my daughter, my surviving hope! My eyes suddenly went over to the pink cover-designed book that was lying on the window side. Just at first glance, I could easily recognise the book. It was Daphne’s diary, the same one she had always kept away from me. I thought she left that behind at home. I didn’t think much about it when I walked up to the windowside; just at the same fast pace, I grabbed a hold of Daphne’s little diary. I opened it, and my eyes scanned through it, but my face dropped immediately in shock at the contents of what was in Daphne’s diary. I staggered backward due to the shock. Luckily, the sofa behind me was able to stop me from falling. Seeing the familiar handwriting I was left completely flustered. “I hate mummy! She is nothing but a monster; I hate her!” I read the content in her diary. “She is too harsh. She doesn’t want me!” Reading more of it made cold tears form at the corner of my eyes. I couldn’t believe Daphne wrote all this about me. Had I been too harsh to her? I had been so hurt that I forgot how to be good to my own child. “Daphne, where are you? I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” I cried out for Daphne searching the whole room, but reality soon hit me that she wasn’t inside. I rushed over to the telephone and called the hotel’s security department. “I’m calling from suite 707. I’m sorry, but I can’t find my daughter inside. Can you find her for me, please? She is wearing a pink blouse with a white pleated skirt.” I requested with my shaky voice. I will never forgive myself if anything happens to Daphne. "Relax, ma’am; we will search for her in the hotel premises.” They told me. With that, the call ended. I slumped into the sofa, looking so worried and scared. Did Daphne run away from me? Did she leave in search of her father? Did she hate me so much? I could feel the corner of my eyes getting stained. I felt so apologetic toward her; I just wanted to see her and apologise for hurting her. Seeing the hotel security department was taking longer than I expected. I got up on my feet and rushed towards the door to search for Daphne on my own before it got too late. But just then the telephone finally rang back. I rushed back to the desk and picked it up. “We found her. We found your description at the hotel lounge.” They revealed. “Thank you so much; I will take it up from there!” I told them and hung up immediately. With that, I rushed out of the suite, and I fastened my heels towards the elevator. I got into the elevator, rushing towards the hotel’s lounge. Why on earth did she go there? Even though it took longer than I expected, the elevator finally opened up. I rushed out of the elevator, but I didn’t expect to bump into someone just at the same time. “I’m so sorry, I’m kind of rushing.” I apologise immediately without taking a glance at the person’s face. All I could see was his pair of black shoes, shimmering under the light. “It’s okay. I could see that too.” The person said, and I was immediately hit by the familiarity of the voice. I immediately looked up, and I was welcomed by the familiar face that struck me to the core. The same face I hadn’t seen for four years. “S-sienna?” He stuttered, and he looked utterly shocked seeing me the moment I raised my head up, and my face was clearly visible before him too. It was no other person than the man who greatly reminded me of my past. The man who was betrayed just like me. The same man who felt hurt and shattered into pieces just like me. It was Lucas’s uncle, Lisa’s ex-husband, Uncle Max. What is he doing here?Chapter 6 Lucas POV I couldn’t believe the unbelievable connection I had with the little girl. We went along quite well, and she ended up revealing to me everything about her mother. What kind of mother has been so harsh to her kid? What kind of mother does she have? I watched her frown slightly, and she accompanied it with a pout, but that greatly reminded me of someone again. “She is a real devil, mister. I don’t know why I’m telling you all this, but my mother hates me.” She complained to me. I sighed and adjusted on my seat. The two of us finally rested at one of the lounge’s chairs, discussing her mother. I hadn’t met her, but I couldn’t imagine how devilish she was. How could she be so cranky towards a little girl? I leaned closer to her. “Do you want me to call the cops on her?” I asked her. She sighed dramatically. “I don’t want to do that. She is still my mother; at least she clothed me and fed me. I’m always grateful for that.” The little girl told me, and I l
Chapter 7Sienna POVI didn’t expect to bump into someone who greatly reminded me of my past.“How long had it been? Four years after you left?” Uncle Max jaw slackened completely seeing me. After I left, no one knew my whereabouts, not even Lucas. Even if he wanted to search for me, he had nowhere to search. Lucas knew nothing about my real identity. I left everything behind just to marry him, but I ended up regretting that. “What are you doing here, Uncle Max?” I asked, looking surprised to see him as well. I had chosen the particular hotel knowing it was one of their family’s rival hotels, and I thought I would never run into anyone I knew there, but surprisingly I met him there.“When did you get back, Sienna?” The man asked, and he looked surprised to see me as well.I inhaled sharply as all the memory came running to my head. All the memories I had tried so hard to forget. “How have you been doing, Sienna? We need to talk.” He added.“What have you been doing?” He asked, lo
Chapter 8Sienna POVDifferent questions ran through my mind. I couldn’t understand how Daphne and Lucas crossed paths. But one thing I knew was that my anger was more visible towards Lucas. I hate him so much. I abhorred him so much. Lucas gazed tore away from me all of a sudden, and they rested on Daphne. He seemed to say some words to Daphne, and he quietly grabbed her by her hands. My brows snapped together furiously, and I was totally annoyed. “I said, Let go of her now!” I didn’t know when I screamed so loud.I stomped angrily towards him, ignoring the loud echoes of my footsteps on the marble floor.Daphne's eyes were fixed on me, and I could see the little fear in her. She seemed a little scared of me, and I hated that, especially seeing how close she was to Lucas, whom she had probably just met. Had I really been a bad mother to her?“Mom.. “ Daphne called out. Hearing that Lucas looked completely flustered and shocked. He immediately took a glance back at Daphne.“Mom?”
Chapter 9Lucas POVWhen the little girl addressed Sienna as her mother, I didn’t want to believe it, but not until Sienna called her her daughter too.Sienna had a child?Looking at the girl, no doubt she had her after we divorced. There was no way she was suddenly seeing someone after we divorced unless she had someone hidden in a corner. Sienna was cheating on me?“Wait, were you cheating on me?” I asked her, looking so furious. I watched her smirk with her arms folded across her chest. She looked so proud. Proud as always, and that was part of the reason I preferred Lisa over her. “And is that how you say hello to your ex-wife?” She smirked at my face.“Ex-wife?” I scoffed furiously.“I don’t even think I know you!” I yelled at her face.“I never wanted to see you again too.” She hissed at my face before turning to Daphne, who looked confused at what was going on.“Let’s go back to our suite,” she told her, walking closer to grab a hold of her hands, but I quickly stopped that
Chapter 10 Lucas POV Seeing Sienna and hearing her talk to me in such manner completely angered me. I took the last glance at her before storming away from the lounge. “Mister!” I heard the little girl's voice right behind me, but I didn’t bother to take a glance back. Her mother probably grabbed her hands and stopped her from coming after me. The moment I arrived at where my car was parked, I got into the backseat and told the driver to drive off. “Drive me home!” I ordered “Home?” He looked a little surprised. I had hardly returned home during work time, and he also knew I had come to the hotel to do something very important. Having no other choice, he nodded and drove off, heading to my house. I gazed out of the tinted window. The face of the little girl, along with that of Sienna, flashed back to my head, and I couldn’t help but become angry. She was cheating on me all along. She was the real cheat, yet she always acted like she loved me. When I
Chapter 11 I soon ignored the thought, and I stepped into the bathtub. The warm, scented water calmed me down completely. It was as if she knew what I needed. After I was done with taking my bath, I walked out to the room where I met Lisa waiting for me. “You feel better now?” She asked with her soft smile as always. The same soft smile that always met my heart completely. "Yes,” I nodded. I made my way to the closet. Lisa came with me to the closet, where she grabbed me a new set of clothes, and I changed into them. I walked back to the bed and lay on it. Lisa came up to the bed and wrapped her warm body around me. I hugged her deeply, inhaling her sweet scent. “Thanks for being the good one,” I whispered into her ears. I never regretted the fact that I divorced Sienna for her. I hate Sienna, and I don’t think I ever want to run into her again. “Did something happen?” Lisa asked me, looking curious. I looked into her innocent hazel eyes. I didn’t want t
Chapter 12 I frowned slightly, knowing the fact that he must have called to check on my ex-wife, whom I was supposed to visit. I’m quite sure he will freak out after finding out I got into a fight with her instead. “What?” I said coldly the moment I picked up. “Did you see her?” Ken asked almost immediately. I responded with a sigh. “What? It didn’t go well.” He panicked “I met her, but it didn’t go well. Let’s just find another miss to sort things out.” I told him. “What? You really fought her?” Ken freaked out. “Let’s just talk another time,” I told him and sighed. Ken was about to say something, but I quickly ended the call. I dropped my phone back into my pocket and headed for the room. My phone continued to ring in my pocket, but I ignored it, knowing sure that Ken was the one calling. I lay on the bed and stared into the space. After a few minutes, the door opened again, and Lisa walked in with a tray. I got out of bed and gently watched her drop it on
Chapter 13 Sienna POV The moment Lucas left. I held Daphne by her wrist, pulled her away from the lounge, and headed back to our suite angrily. “How could you be talking to a stranger?!” I yelled, scolding her. “Did you even know how worried I was? But you were busy interacting with a stranger!” I continued screaming, catching so much attention, but I didn’t care. I was so vexed, I hated the fact that I saw her with Lucas. Not with anyone but Lucas? I was even more angry seeing that she wouldn’t respond. No matter what I say, Daphne isn’t saying a single word! The moment we arrived at our suite, I opened the door with the master card and threw Daphne in, ready to scold her till I became calm. “You were busy talking to a stranger, but now you couldn’t say a word?” I yelled frustratedly. “That’s because I have nothing to say.” Daphne shrugged with a lot of attitude before walking to take a seat on the sofa. “You have nothing to say after talking to a stranger? A man you know
