Chapter 10

Lucas POV

Seeing Sienna and hearing her talk to me in such manner completely angered me. I took the last glance at her before storming away from the lounge.

“Mister!” I heard the little girl's voice right behind me, but I didn’t bother to take a glance back.

Her mother probably grabbed her hands and stopped her from coming after me.

The moment I arrived at where my car was parked, I got into the backseat and told the driver to drive off.

“Drive me home!” I ordered

“Home?” He looked a little surprised.

I had hardly returned home during work time, and he also knew I had come to the hotel to do something very important.

Having no other choice, he nodded and drove off, heading to my house.

I gazed out of the tinted window. The face of the little girl, along with that of Sienna, flashed back to my head, and I couldn’t help but become angry.

She was cheating on me all along. She was the real cheat, yet she always acted like she loved me.

After I was done with taking my bath, I walked out to the room where I met Lisa waiting for me. “You feel better now?” She asked with her soft smile as always. The same soft smile that always met my heart completely. "Yes,” I nodded. I made my way to the closet. Lisa came with me to the closet, where she grabbed me a new set of clothes, and I changed into them. I walked back to the bed and lay on it. Lisa came up to the bed and wrapped her warm body around me. I hugged her deeply, inhaling her sweet scent. “Thanks for being the good one,” I whispered into her ears. I never regretted the fact that I divorced Sienna for her. I hate Sienna, and I don’t think I ever want to run into her again. “Did something happen?” Lisa asked me, looking curious. I looked into her innocent hazel eyes. I didn’t want t

I’m quite sure he will freak out after finding out I got into a fight with her instead. “What?” I said coldly the moment I picked up. “Did you see her?” Ken asked almost immediately. I responded with a sigh. “What? It didn’t go well.” He panicked “I met her, but it didn’t go well. Let’s just find another miss to sort things out.” I told him. “What? You really fought her?” Ken freaked out. “Let’s just talk another time,” I told him and sighed. Ken was about to say something, but I quickly ended the call. I dropped my phone back into my pocket and headed for the room. My phone continued to ring in my pocket, but I ignored it, knowing sure that Ken was the one calling. I lay on the bed and stared into the space. After a few minutes, the door opened again, and Lisa walked in with a tray. I got out of bed and gently watched her drop it on

I held Daphne by her wrist, pulled her away from the lounge, and headed back to our suite angrily. “How could you be talking to a stranger?!” I yelled, scolding her. “Did you even know how worried I was? But you were busy interacting with a stranger!” I continued screaming, catching so much attention, but I didn’t care. I was so vexed, I hated the fact that I saw her with Lucas. Not with anyone but Lucas? I was even more angry seeing that she wouldn’t respond. No matter what I say, Daphne isn’t saying a single word! The moment we arrived at our suite, I opened the door with the master card and threw Daphne in, ready to scold her till I became calm. “You were busy talking to a stranger, but now you couldn’t say a word?” I yelled frustratedly. “That’s because I have nothing to say.” Daphne shrugged with a lot of attitude before walking to take a seat on the sofa. “You have nothing to say after talking to a stranger? Chapter 14 Sienna's pov I walked like a drunken man, but I was still on my steady feet, at least I was able to walk back into the suite. How would I have ever thought my own daughter would turn her back on me for a stranger she just met. It was really heartbreaking for me. I just hoped that I would be able to figure out how to apologize to her for speaking harshly and scolding her for what was entirely Lucas’s fault. I sat right beside her on the bed and watched her breathe smoothly, her face was as appealing as ever. “I promise to make it up to you, darling.” I said, as I rubbed my hands through her hair. She moved and I pulled away my hands, she'd definitely not want to see me. How could she had fallen asleep so quickly. I turned away and removed my dress to take a shower and made an order, hoping it'd be back by the time I'm done and when Daphne's awake. I entered the bathroom with my towel and slipped into the warm water. I didn't take time in there, it was a mere shower a

What do you mean Sienna?” I asked her, feigning ignorance and pulling her close. “I thought I heard you mention Sienna right now.” She insisted. “No, you didn't. I need to sleep, can we ho to the room now?” I asked just to change the topic. Thank goodness she didn't try to argue with me, who knows what I'd have said? That I kept it from her all this while? Ah! Definitely not. I made my way with her to the room and slept off rubbing her hair while her head was on my chest. It felt really blissful and I didn't want to ruin it, I didn't want to do something to make her leave me. It was easier going to sleep with her. *** “Hey, Good morning.” I woke up in Lisa's arms, to her beautiful face and her high spirit then I placed a kiss on her forehead. I tried to stand up but she pulled me back to sleep and we were there together for minutes. “Good morning to you too.” She gave

Chapter 16 Sienna’s Pov I was really happy to see how his life was going down the drain. Lucas should be at that point where he would postrate at my feet and beg for his life. He would regret every ounce of life he took away from me. Right from the start, he had never considered me as someone worthwhile, neither would I do that. And I wouldn't let him take away my daughter from me. I was happy when I found out the job was done. He'd regret turning my daughter's back on me also. After I received the call from the guy that the news was out, I was expecting him to come back crawling and begging for his life back. Just like how I lived a miserable life trying to get over the pain he caused me. I went back inside only to find out that my daughter had messed up the dress I placed on the table to wear. It was really annoying and I lashed out at her. “Daphne, what the hell?” I screamed on the top of my lungs, but all she gave was silence. “Is this supposed to be a joke? Am I a joke

Chapter 17 Lucas's pov I dropped from the car and wandered around a bit, was too tired to even think right and I ended up getting sore in the heart. I began to boil in anger not minding what things my fury would ruin. The more I thought about it, the more I got really pissed. I tried to take a breath but it wasn't helping either. How could she get under my skin like that? I needed air, and couldn't believe my business was going down the drain just so fast because of Sienna’s unreasonable actions. I got back in the car after slamming the closest wall, and getting hurt, I knew who I could vent my anger on instead. I drove to the hotel really fast and I didn't expect the sight of what met me. “Daphne?” I muttered under my breath. I wondered where she was running to. I walked closer to her and she hugged me immediately she saw me. The tears in her eyes explained why she was running out of the hotel. I tried to console her, but she cried even louder and I knew I needed to ease h

Chapter 18 Lucas’s pov The brightness on her face and the way she screamed her lungs out scared me. I really hoped she wouldn't feel too comfortable with me and think I'd take responsibility. It was way too complicated to take care of someone else's child. If only I knew she was cheating on me years ago, I wouldn't dare to stay with her for so long. If Sienna wanted her child to be happy then she would have done something better than what she had been doing to make her daughter happy. We were at the park for two hours and counting and Lisa’s call brought me back to thinking how much Sienna's evil mind has brought me to a predicament. I hurriedly picked her call, before she started to her suspicious of my actions. “Hey! You aren't at the office? Where are you? Let me come over there.” She sounded so sweet and it got me thinking if I should really still meet or talk to Sienna. I could tell it was time to take Daphne back to the hotel. Her play time was over anyways. “Lisa,

I paused in the hallway, balancing a tray of food for him. He wasn’t talking to anyone, just pacing in his room, his words tumbling out in a stream of anxious soliloquy. “I mean, how do you tell someone you love them without sounding desperate? She probably doesn’t even feel the same. What if I ruin everything?” My heart clenched, and I instinctively held my breath. He was talking about me. I didn’t know what to do. Should I walk away and pretend I hadn’t heard anything? Or should I go in and act like I hadn’t been eavesdropping? Before I could decide, he spoke again, quieter this time, almost to himself. “She’s been through so much already. Maybe it’s better if I keep quiet…” I knocked softly on the door, pushing it open before he could respond. Ryan spun around, startled, his face going pale for a second before he forced a s

Chapter 103 Lucas’s Pov“I cannot believe you, Lucas!” Lisa’s voice rang through the house, loud and sharp, as she paced back and forth in front of me, her friends sitting awkwardly on the couch nearby, pretending not to listen but clearly enjoying the drama. I rubbed my temples, already exhausted by the conversation. “Lisa, I told you, I’m not spending another dime on something as ridiculous as matching gold napkin rings for the rehearsal dinner,” I said, trying to keep my tone calm. She whirled around, glaring at me like I’d just insulted her entire existence. “It’s not just about the napkin rings, Lucas. It’s about you not taking this wedding seriously! You’re acting like it’s a burden instead of a celebration of us!” I took a deep breath, counting to five before responding. “Lisa, I am taking this seriously. I’m funding the entire thing, aren’t I? But there has to be a line somewhere. We don’t need to go overboard.” Her friends exchanged glances, barely stifling their s

Chapter 102 Ryan’s Pov“Sienna,” I began, my voice faltering as I stood on her porch, staring into her tired but beautiful eyes. The words were on the tip of my tongue, desperate to escape, but my courage wavered. “What is it, Ryan?” she asked, tilting her head slightly, her tone soft but curious. I glanced down, swallowing the lump in my throat. “I… uh… I was wondering if you and Daphne would like to go out today. You know, just to get some fresh air. I thought it might be nice for all of us.” Her brows furrowed slightly, as if she was trying to figure out what I was really asking, but then she nodded. “Daphne could use some fun,” she said. “It’s been a tough few weeks for her.” Relief washed over me, though part of me felt like a coward for dodging what I really wanted to say. But this wasn’t the right time, I told myself. Sienna had enough on her plate already without me adding more complications. By the time we left the house, Daphne was bouncing with excitement. She

I smiled weakly, brushing a strand of her hair back. "I'm just thinking, sweetheart. Nothing for you to worry about." But my heart was heavy. Ryan’s recent kindness lingered in my mind, and Lucas’s sudden reappearance only added to the chaos. It felt like my life was caught between two storms, both threatening to unravel everything I’d worked so hard to hold together. I reached for Daphne’s hand, squeezing it gently. "How about we bake something today? Cookies, maybe?" Her face lit up, and she nodded eagerly. “Yes! With chocolate chips!” “Chocolate chips it is,” I said, standing and leading her into the kitchen. The sound of Daphne’s laughter filled the kitchen as we rolled dough and pressed cookie cutters into the soft mixture. Flour dusted her cheeks, and her giggles grew louder when I smeared a bit of it on her

Chapter 100Lucas’s Pov"Mr. Lucas, I see you’ve arrived." The deep, commanding voice greeted me as I stepped into the lavish private dining room of The Green Ivy.The air smelled of exotic spices and freshly grilled meats, but my focus was immediately drawn to the long dining table in front of me. It was covered in an array of dishes that looked too extravagant for a simple meeting. From roasted duck and stuffed lobster to delicate pastries and expensive wines, the table was practically groaning under the weight of excess. I paused, uncertain if I was in the right place. “This is… unexpected,” I muttered under my breath. Before I could overthink it, a tall, sharply dressed man emerged from the shadows of the room. He exuded power, his every move deliberate and commanding. His dark suit fit him perfectly, and his silver watch glinted under the dim lighting. “Mr. Monroe,” he said, extending a hand as he approached. “I’ve been looking forward to this meeting. Please, sit.” I
