Chapter 51: Father

Sleeping with him next door wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, even with me being tired. It's uncomfortable. I woke up early, made the kids breakfast and tried to explain everything as best as I could to them, where we were and what was happening, in a way they could understand.

They loved the lake and everything about it, so I spent the better half of the morning telling them about its history and giving them lake facts. I promised to take them out by the water.

They were excited despite everything, so excited I wished I had rented a cabin or something during one of their holidays. It's all they were talking about with Eion showing Chea his diving forms. They wanted the full experience but they couldn't swim. I couldn't either, growing up in a small pack nobody had taken the time to teach me and I hadn't been interested much either.
