“Mate when with her ex mate!” My wolf has been nagging me ever since we received Aine’s text about her going with Oishin.

“I know. Oishin and I talked about this last week. Calm your nerves, Anne will never betray us.”

“Ugh, that’s Aine, not Anne. Do not mistake her with someone who’s already dead.”

I felt a little bit irritated when my wolf said it like Anne was not our mate.

“She was. Now we have a new mate. Don’t mess this up or you’ll regret everything. I knew you were so obsessed with Anne but she’s dead. DEAD!” my wolf shut me off and I was left heaving a sigh.

Mate, words become meaningless for me unless it’s Anne. Only she could make me whole, to be myself again.

A word that I have never failed to hear every minute of my existence on this Earth. Yet, it still fails to have even the slightest meaning to my knowledge since my precious Anne was taken away from me.
