The Party
Ethan went his way mingling with the other guests ( which is the girls) while Alex kept hugging Ryan arm.
As they walked people greeted them but he kept a straight face while Alex smiled non stop.
Alex leaned in, her voice low. "You still haven't apologized for standing me up earlier today."
"I already did," Ryan said, his expression serious.
Alex raised an eyebrow. "When?"
Ryan didn't respond, just kept walking and nodding to people's greetings
Alex's frowned for a moment before she recovered. "Ryan, come on. You can't just ignore me."
Ryan paused, his eyes locked on hers. "How long are you going to keep bugging me,? If you don't behave, you should buzz off."
Alex's eyes flashed,she bit her lips and looked down. They continued walking but she didn't smile.
"at least you could have compliment me on my dress tonight," she said lowly but he still heard her.
Ryan glanced at her, his expression unreadable. "You look fine." he mouthed and she scoffed
" Seriously that's it... nothing else" Ryan rolled his eyes and continued walking.
" Hey...wait up" she quickly took his arm again.
" Well well well...look what we have here...if it isn't the most famous couple in the country..." a mocking voice said behind them. Ryan frowned, of course he'd remember that voice anywhere.
" Trevor...what brings you here?" Alex asked with a scoff and Trevor smiled ,he stood in front of them.
" I was invited here of course... after all am one of the top business men of the country" he said with a smile and took a sip from his wine.
Alex scoffed." Wow really now...if being the eighth makes you a top business man then that means our country has a serious grading system" she said and he frowned.
" Oh...I also heard you might be kicked out of the business world soon after all...the bank got half of your company right" she added with a mocking smile.
Trevor clenched his hand tightly and glanced at Ryan but he's face was expressionless. He smirked
" Wow...you two must really be into each other Ryan seeing as she speaks up for you"
" I have nothing to say to you Trevor" Ryan said and turned to leave
" Come on do you still hate me that much, how about...we visit a club, it's been long I saw you drink...but I hope you don't pass out again this time" Trevor said with a smirk.
Ryan clenched his fits so hard that his veins were showing already
" Ryan are you okay..." Alex asked concerned then she turned to Trevor
" What are you doing trevour? Leave Ryan alone and focus on your pathetic life" she spat hotly but he smirked and continued
" You know I don't get why you got so angry the next day...it was just a little drink and..." he was still talking when a heavy punch landed on his face.
Alex gasped in shock her hands flew to her mouth.
Trevor's face turned red with anger, and he took a step closer to Ryan. "You! how dare you..." . he didn't complete his words when when ryan punched him again in the jaw.
The whole crowd gasped in shock. Alex's eyes widened

Trevor stumbled backward, clutching his jaw. "You'll pay for that, Ryan!"he said angrily, he turned to see the crowd looking at him.

Ethan came to them at that moment
" What happened...Ryan " he asked panting, he's clothes looked unkept because he had been making out earlier with a lady when he heard about the fight and rushed in.
" Are you okay Ryan?" He tried touching him but Alex pushed his hand away
" Go take care of yourself first gosh you're a mess" she hissed and grabbed Ryan's arm, pulling him away from the scene. "Ryan, let's get out of here. Now."
Ryan nodded, still fuming, and let Alex lead him away from the crowd.
"Erhem erhem... there's nothing to see here people hmmm" Ethan cleared his throat and followed them.

" What...just look at your hand it's all brusied let me follow you so I can take care of it" she insisted her voice a little high.
Ryan glanced at his brusied hand stained with blood.
" Bro... she's right let's follow you home...is your heartbeat alright you know you shouldn't get angry too much" Ethan said worriedly
" Am fine, take Alex home I'll be okay" he said and opened his car before Alex could say anything the driver already zoomed off.
" Gosh!! So annoying...he could have just let me follow him" Alex said ruffling her hair
" It's all Trevor's fault gosh won't he ever change" Ethan said staring at nothing in particular, Alex glanced at him
"Did something happen between them six years ago... earlier Trevor was talking and..."
" Nothing happened" he cut her off and she frowned
" I haven't even finished talking yet...are you two hiding something from me" she asked looking at him suspiciously
" I already said nothing... erhem you better go home now I still have something to do" he pecked her forehead and ran inside.
"Gosh that prick face...I bet he's going back to that bitch he left earlier" she sighed frustratedly and entered her car

" Just drive " she rolled her eyes and rested her head on the window her thoughts solely on Ryan

Next morning
Ryan's house.
Ryan woke up, checked his heartbeat watch, and went to the bathroom. As he washed his face, he saw his bruised hand and remembered last night.
Trevor's face popped into his head. The punch. The crowd, his fists clenched. He felt angry all over again.
"Why did I let him get to me?" He thought. He took a deep breath, trying to calm down, but the anger lingered.
Ryan finished in the bathroom and walked out just then His phone rang. It was Tyler.
"Hey, boss!. You need to check the internet," Tyler said.
"What's going on?"he asked
"Just check it," Tyler said, sounding serious.
Ryan's gut told him this was about last night's incident with Trevor. He quickly grabbed his tablet and started searching.
His eyes widened as he scrolled through the headlines:
