Kai
Our meeting went smoothly. Right now, we’re just in a waiting game. According to the vision that Stefan had, we’ll be attacked during a new moon.
The next new moon is in 6 days. All we can do is fight, rest, and be prepared for anything to happen.
I sit in my room with my eyes closed as I try to meditate. I’m doing everything I can to try to force a vision. I hear the door open and close and smell Genevieve’s intoxicating scent. I don’t hear her footsteps but notice the soft flutter of her wings.
I think that’s truly one of my favorite things about her is how she flies. She so quiet and she brings me the most peace and comfort. Her hands touch my shoulders, and she places her chin on top of my head as she says softly, “You need to let loose, Kai.”
I take a deep breath and place my hand on hers and say, “I know.”
“How about you let Loki to play?Silas David and Charlotte look like they’re glowing from their happiness now that they’re pregnant. I can’t help but smile and feel happy for them. It also just reminds me of what my future with Lux might look like soon. Charlotte seems to have mellowed out which I’m surprised about. I thought pregnancy would make her even more high strung, but she just seemed happy and content with life. I wish Lux could’ve sat with us, but I knew after the meeting she just wanted time to herself because she felt embarrassed. Once all of this is over, I really need to encourage her to go to therapy. She’s been through a lot of trauma and I think it could really benefit her. Imagine my surprise when I get a mind link from Kai saying: Go down to the cells. My eyebrows furrow as I stand up, accidentally bumping into the table startling Charlotte and David asks, “Are you okay, Silas?”My eyes glaze over with the
Lux Kodi is just as angry as I am as we distance ourselves from Silas. I go up to my room knowing that there’s nowhere else I’d be able to go to. Silas and Kai are sure to be on top of me if I tried to go out. I know that Apollo knows where Ellie is. I hope Kai will be able to get the information out of him that I wasn’t able to get. The moment I walk into my room I notice Genevieve’s scent and I ask, “What are you doing in here?” “Oh, I just figured you’d be coming in here after Kai rushed to the cells to get you away from there.” I wince at the reminder, and she says, “I figured you might want a distraction. Or just someone that won’t be upset with you for doing it.”I make my way to the bed and lie down on it, and I feel Genevieve lies down beside me. I take in a deep breath and ask, “You’re not upset with me?”“Not at all. I don’t know why you did it, but the one thing that I’ve learned about you is th
SilasAfter Lux ran off, I decided to back to the cells to see if there was any way that I could help Kai. But by the time I got there he was already leaving the area with a huff.I look at him with one eyebrow arched as I ask, “Are you okay, man?”He sighs as he looks me up and down and says, “He knows where the girl is. But he’s not cracking. There’s… a lot wrong with Apollo. Whatever they did to him to cause him to mutate the way he did has definitely messed with his head.”He takes a deep breath as he runs a hand through his hair and says, “I don’t know what to do. I don’t think we’ll be able to get any information out of him. I really don’t want Lux to have any more contact with him, but I’m not sure if we’ll have any other choice.”Jax stirs inside of me, angry at the thought of Lux even being around Apollo.Kai looks a
LuxIt made me sad how easy it was to find my father. He was back in his room, although I can tell it’s been picked up because I’m not tripping over everything. I call out for him, “Dad?”“Lux?” He responds and I hear him come out of one of the doors so I know he was either in the bathroom or in his closet. I hear his sharp intake of breath before he says, “Marinette Sinclair.”Marinette sounds confused as she asks, “You know who I am?”He’s quiet for a moment then says, “I knew your father. My mate was one of his best friends.”“She was?” I can hear the shock in Marinette’s voice as my dad says, “Yeah, she was. They were very close… a little too close in my opinion.”I smirk softly from his comment and Marinette asks, “Can you help me? I want to learn more about my history and what it means for me to b
SilasBy the time I get done training with Kai and I get done taking a shower, Lux is sitting in our room. She sits on the bed as she waits for me to speak. I sigh and ask, “How are you doing, sunshine?”She asks in a soft voice, just a smidge louder than a whisper, “Are you still mad at me?”I look at her and watch as she lifts her hand up to wipe her face. Guilt rushes through me as I realize how much I must’ve upset her.I wrap a towel around my waist before I walk over to her and touch her face and move it so she’s looking up at me. Immediately, I’m captivated by her eyes, and I bring my hand up and rub her cheek as I also wipe away her tears. I say, “No, I’m not mad, Lux. I don’t understand why you went to go see them. But… I trust in you. I just want to make sure you’re safe. You understand that, right?”She nods her head and gives a halfhearted sm
Lux The days passed by quickly. The packhouse was full and everyone was constantly around each other. Just socializing and enjoying things being normal before the battle comes.Charlotte and Iris will oversee the bunker situation which will have all the other women, children, and elderly. Grandma Winnie will take care of Marigold while Marinette is absent.Marinette and I are both to stay on the sidelines. We don’t know when we’ll be needed, and Kai won’t let us be on the front lines in case things get bad.Genevieve plans to stay in her small form so that she can fly around easily. She is going to stay hidden in the shadows and fly to us when or if they need us.Calvin, David, Silas, and Kai all seem oddly at peace today. They’ve been training every day along with Mason, Elijah, and Chase. Chase and Marinette still seem to be strained meanwhile Mason and Elijah seem attached at the hip.Today
LuxThe sound of thunder wakes me up. I touch the side of the bed and notice Silas’s side is cold. He must’ve left me a while ago.As I sit up my eyebrows furrow, why would he leave without saying goodbye? Especially when we know how dangerous this battle may be.I mind link him: Silas? He doesn’t respond and it causes the hair on the back of my neck to stand up. I try the link again and say: It's fine if you're busy. Just let me know you're still okay.No response and I groan as my stomach twists in knots. This isn't normal for Silas. I get out of my bed and slip on a pair of shoes before leaving my room. As I enter the hallway, I listen out for anything. The sound of someone else’s heartbeat or their footsteps.I breathe out, feeling uneasy as I hear nothing. The women must be in the bunker with the children and elderly, the warriors must be fighting, Mar
SilasI tackle Kai to the ground and listen as what I thought was the grenade went off. I kept waiting for the shrapnel to hit me or for the heat to singe my fur, but nothing happens.Instead, the putrid smell of wolfsbane fills the air and it stings my skin and eyes as it covers the ground. I hear Kai curse through the mind link before sending out a mass mind link telling everyone what’s going on so that they can clear out and get away from the field.I mind link Kai: Make sure no one goes to the packhouse. That’s what they’re trying to do is corner us. We can’t get cornered, if we do then we're fighting a losing battle.I look over at his wolf and I can tell that Kai is now the one in charge and he looks… scared. I look back towards the border and notice the hunters hiding behind trees and bushes, only peeking out to make their shots, they’re allowing the rogue
