CHAPTER 20

Damian opened his eyes and adjusted to the glare of the sunlight coming through the sheer curtains on a Tuesday morning. He turned when he felt Vittoria stirred beside him, rolling to her side, her bare back to him.

Sitting up slowly, Damian reached for his phone on the side of the table and turned it on to check for messages in his inbox.

“Mrs. Cameron refused to be driven home by the driver and called for her own to fetch her at Stratham,” a message from the butler of the mansion he recently purchased read. “She waited outside the gate until the car had arrived.”

His eyes narrowed at the information. He then went to the next message that was sent by his secretary.

“Mrs. Cameron was spotted with Senator Whitehall having dinner at Bambino,” he reported. “They then went to watch a play at The Crown Concert Hall and had a nightcap at Bean Bag Tearoom.”

Trying to project that you’re doing okay, Samantha? He thought coldly.

“Gather everything you can about that senator,” he typed his reply
