CHAPTER 26

Two Weeks Later…

Sam strolled around the mall, looking at the shops’ storefront display and smiling politely at the staff inviting her to come inside on a Saturday morning. She finally entered a bookstore and thanked the person, helping her with the shopping bags she is carrying.

“Do you need some help with a certain book, Mrs. Cameron?” The staff then asked, knowing that she often goes there. “We have some new arrivals at the children’s section.”

“Thanks. Please have a cart on standby there already. I’ll browse for a while before heading there,” Sam answered softly. She felt her phone ringing inside her bag and after walking towards the shelves, she pulled it out and saw Vanessa calling. “Hey, I’m in a bookshop.”

“Such an old soul,” Vanessa commented in amusement. “At the age of tablet, you still prefer reading a book.”

“As well as removing the packing and smelling the fresh pages,” she continued with a laugh that made Sam laugh as well. “Anyway, do you want to join us for dinner lat
