CHAPTER 19

Sam opened her eyes when there was a knock on her bedroom door later that same day in the morning. She didn't move for a while, debating whether to answer the door or not, letting the person on the other side assumed that she's sleeping.

“Come in.” She finally said when a second knock came.

She sat up when she saw Ara coming in with a concerned look on her face.

“Hannah called and told me that your look down when you arrived this morning,” Ara explained softly. She sat on the side of the bed and reached for her hand. “She said you look distraught and your eyes were red. Steven also mentioned that he consoled you because you cried the moment you got inside the car. What happened? Is this about that article today?”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Sam answered stiffly.

When she woke up a few hours after and went out from her room after changing, she was informed by the household staff that Damian had already taken off at around six in the morning. The feeling of emptiness enveloped her
