Everleigh’s Point of View
"Are you listening, Everleigh?" I looked at Cassy in surprise. I could see the surprise and annoyance in his eyes.
"Y-Yes..." I immediately answered even though I didn't really understand what he was saying. Two weeks have passed since Cassy and I went to the bar in town. The mark in my neck disappeared but the scar is still there. I can still see that it is a mark from the wolf.
I forgot to say that our province isn't a typical province you know. Our province is a place where wolves are living. The wolves that live here in our province are divided into three groups. The royal family where the Alpha, Beta, and their families belong, the Elites where living in the town. They're rich and powerful too while the last group are the Lower Settles where I belong. Cassy belongs to the Elites. We’re both full wolf blooded.
"Tsk, you're not listening to me Everleigh. What is happening to you? How many days have you been like that?" She said so I stared at her.
“Nothing… I just feel bad, Cassy. This is your fault." I put a little joke in my voice so she wouldn't get suspicious.
“Tsk, it's been two weeks. Forget it..." She complained but I just made a face.
I tried to be fine all day. I turned my mind to something else so I wouldn't remember what happened to me, but no matter how hard I tried, I kept thinking about who marked me. In the two weeks that have passed, I've been trying to remember if I talked to or met a man that night, but my head hurts because I can't remember anything.
Until I decided to go back to the bar where Cassy took me. I badly want to tell Cassy what happened to me so that she can help me but I'm scared.
Tonight I plan to go. I'm so thankful because Cassy has been quite busy these past few weeks so she doesn't bother me. Anyway, I continued but I didn't get any luck when I went there because of the many men I met there, I didn't know which one of them marked me. I feel like I'm going crazy.
But I didn't give up, I tried several times.
And one night when I was thinking about that I had a dream but all I remembered in the dream was a man with a tattoo on his chest. A small dragon tattoo and that's how I was surprised when a scenario came to my mind.
What the hell!
"Couldn't the guy I saw at the exit of the bar mark me!?" I asked myself in surprise.
When it was late, I hurriedly got dressed and headed to the bar. When I got there I went immediately to the exit of the bar, where I threw up and that's how my chest pounded when I saw the familiar man. My whole body trembled as I approached him and when our eyes met, I immediately read the shock in his eyes but it immediately disappeared.
"Who are you?" My whole body trembled even more when he spoke. It was cold and I felt the hairs on my body stand up.
I couldn't answer. I slowly looked down at his chest. I felt like I was going to fall when I saw the familiar tattoo on his chest.
That was the tattoo in my dreams!
I looked back at him again.
"A-Are you the one who marked me?" I wanted to tweak myself because that was the first question that came out of my mouth.
"What are you saying?" He was annoyed so I parted my hair and showed him the scar mark on my neck.
"Someone accidentally marked me and you are the only man I remember seeing the night I came here..." I was about to cry while saying those words and it was like my world collapsed when I heard his answer.
"No."
It was like cold water was poured on me when I heard his answer. My eyes started to water when our eyes met. I couldn't even read the reaction in his eyes and face. My vision is getting blurry but I'm still looking at him.
"A-Are you sure?" I asked tremblingly. I keep myself from completely breaking down. I don't know but I feel weak.
When I saw him earlier, my whole body was so shocked when I felt something strange. We blood wolves feel a bond. The mating bond. Similar to the real-world idea of soulmates, but much stronger.
I don't want to assume because that was the first time I felt this one and with him.
"Leave." I heard him say so my thoughts were interrupted. I wiped both of my eyes because they were blurry with tears.
"But---" I was about to speak but I stopped when I turned around and looked like I was going to leave.
My feet moved spontaneously to follow him and I quickly grabbed his right arm.
My heartbeat stopped for a while when I felt a tingle and spark when I touched him. He quickly removed my hand that was holding his arm.
I stepped back when I looked at his eyes. His eyes were very dark and he was looking at me intently.
"I said leave." His voice became colder. My arms fell.
I know he's the one who marked me. I looked down again at the chest where the tattoo I remembered was painted. But it only took a few seconds for it to disappear from my sight because he covered his chest.
My lips opened but no words came out.
“Sage!” I heard someone shout. The man in front of me quickly turned behind him.
His name is Sage?
Did Sage deny that he's not the one who marked me?
My heart turned into pieces when Sage totally turned his back on me. He didn’t even bother to look at me.
What am I going to do now?
Everleigh's Point of View"What's happening to you, Everleigh?" I heard Cassy asked me so I looked at her annoyed."Can you leave me alone? I badly want to be alone.” I was annoyed to answer. I saw the surprise in her eyes so it was like cold water was poured on my body because of what I had done to her."I'm sorry for bothering you, Everleigh. I'm just worried about you.” She uttered sadly and turned her back on me. My shoulders slumped as she completely disappeared from my sight."Aishhhh!" I said annoyed. What is happening to me? I'm always irritated these past few days. I'm not like this before.I finished everything I was doing and when it was night I went home. It's like I lifted something heavy because I feel bad. I'll probably just sleep so I will be okay. The next day, as soon as my eyes opened, I quickly stood up and ran into the bathroom. I vomited. My stomach feels like it's spinning. After throwing up I felt like a wilted vegetable.I slowly went to the kitchen and dran
Everleigh's Point of View "K-Keith, let's go..." My hands were shaking and I grabbed Keith's hand to leave but before we could leave a hand stopped me. "Everleigh..." I heard Sage's voice so I looked at him full of anger. I let go of his hand that was holding my arm. "Leave." I said harshly but he didn't move at all. He's just looking at me intently. I can also read begging in his eyes. "Let's talk---" Before he could finish what he had to say, my right hand spontaneously raised to slap him on his right cheek. The sound of my slap echoed. His head tilted because of that but he immediately returned his gaze to me. I looked at him angrily. "Bullshit, Sage! We have nothing to talk about! Just fucking leave and don't ever come back!” I shouted at him. He was about to reach my hands again but Keith held me and suspected that I would enter the house again. Aunt Kris immediately went near us, still carrying the sleeping Bella. I immediately took Bella from her and hugged her tightly. Th
Everleigh's Point of View"Could you just enjoy it for a while? Even just for a few hours, Everleigh…” I heard Cassy complain behind me. I just sighed because she had said those words several times earlier. I could hear it but I chose to be silent."Everleigh, are you listening?!" Her voice was raised so I looked at her lazily. When our eyes met, I immediately read the annoyance in her eyes."I'm busy---" What I was about to say was cut off when she dropped the glass she was holding on the table."You're always saying that, Everleigh! Look at you! You're only twenty but you're working too much!" She exclaimed so I looked at her in disbelief. I laughed sarcastically."Because I don't have money, Cassy. We have different states in life, Cassy and I know you know that. You can hang out and have fun all the time but I'm not because I need to fucking work for my living.” I told her harshly. I immediately saw the passing of conscience in her eyes. She was about to reach me but I turned her
Everleigh’s Point of ViewIt felt like someone punched my head when I woke up, but when I realized I was in an unfamiliar room, I quickly stood up. Nervous. But when I noticed Cassy next to me, the nervousness and fear in my chest immediately disappeared.I looked around the room where we slept. Who brought us here?I tried to remember what happened to me and Cassy last night but my headache only got worse because I couldn't remember anything except that Cassy and I got drunk because of how much we drank but I couldn't remember how we ended up in this room.My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Cassy wake up. She also held her head when she got up, maybe she had a headache. My hand also automatically landed on her hair to pull it.“Ouch!” She complained. She gave me a bad look but that gradually disappeared when she realized we were in another room."Where are we?" Cassy asked so I glared at her."Ask yourself, Cassy. Because of you we got drunk like this. No more next time!” I sa
