CHAPTER NINETY THREE

SALLY

When Alex asked me to take the documents, I didn't think too much about it before asking him to just have it. I knew he needed to do what was right, and I trusted him to be able to do it alone.

"Why?" Alex asked me.

"I only want to focus on your father's defamation against my company."

Alex smiled and nodded his head. I could tell that he was proud of me and what I was doing for the sake of my company and my family.

"It's fine," Alex agreed with me and put the documents away.

He placed them in a drawer, and I sat beside him. I picked up the glass of juice, which I had earlier placed on the table, and began to feed him.

"You look so innocent when you take care of me," Alex teased me. "No one would ever know that you are pretending so hard not to like me."

I stared at Clinton, whose head was buried in his phone. I knew he was pretending not to hear us when, in fact, he could hear us very clearly.

"When you decided to die for my sins," I teased him back. "
