CHAPTER SEVENTY ONE

SALLY

I lay in my bed rolling around. I could not close my eyes.

Alex's sincere apology kept ringing in my head. I wasn't ready to give in because I knew if I decided to forgive him and let him go free for what he did to me, then my parents would not forgive me.

I promised myself that I would make sure I cause Alex so much pain as well.

I kept rolling on my bed until I finally fell asleep. The next morning, after dressing up for work, I decided to go check up on Alex.

I saw Beverly sneak into her room, and I followed her behind. I stood by the door and placed my ear very close to the door.

"I will come and see you later today," I heard Beverly say in a hushed tone.

I shook my head and walked away.

Getting to Alex's room, I opened the door gently and saw him still lying in bed. He was still deeply asleep. I sighed and shut the door before walking away from the room.
