Chapter Eleven_Lying bitch

Jasmine.

"Mr Warner, do you like my dress?" I asked my boss after taking the tenth glass of whiskey, placing my chin on my hand so I could bat my lashes at him.

A man old enough to be my father.

The rest of the party had been a kind of blur for me with Gia by my side. She made sure every conversation we had started with a drink and ended with a different one.

The lighting in the hall did little to hide the flush that enveloped Mr Warner's cheeks as he choked on his drink, coughing and spluttering so he could say a word.

"Miss Castor." He tried again when the coughing died down. "You look absolutely beautiful. That shade you chose brings the colour of your eyes out, makes them pop."

Without thinking about it, his eyes darted towards Alexander, who just watched us like a hawk would to his prey.

I giggled like he had said something funny, gaining the attention of Gia, whom a group of women had successfully gotten to attend to them. Her eyes betrayed questions she wanted to ask.
