Daydreaming

Adam's POV 

Eve.  

Ah she was perfect, just perfect.   

She laid there in my arms, peering up at me with those beautiful eyes. Blue. It was rapidly becoming my favorite color. I would love to see her swaddled in blue again.   

Like at the Maxwell ball.  

Blue, and beautiful and in the spell of some thirty minutes, utterly and completely mine. I hadn't known she was Eve Harrison back then. She was Eve. Just Eve.  

My Eve.  

This was a dream. I knew it because in reality, Eve wouldn't be here in my arms so freely. Her eyes would dart around in worry, hoping her bastard husband wouldn't catch her right in my arms. I hated it.  

I hated being the other man. I hated being exactly what my father was. A cheater and a homewrecker.
