"You are not inheriting the company?" The word had been echoing in Nicholas' ear. He shook his head, trying to make sure it wasn’t a dream.

"You are joking, right?" He asked, but his father kept his mouth sealed. "Dad, tell me you are joking."

Sebastian eyed his son, "You should know I don’t joke around, especially with something this serious."

"But Dad, I have been doing everything you asked me to. Surely you can’t do this to me. I am your son, your flesh and blood; I deserve to inherit this company more than anyone."

Sebastian opened a chocolate bar, and he threw one in his mouth, chewing slowly, much to Nicholas disapproval. "I am well aware that you have been doing everything I asked, all but one."

"But why? How is that even going to affect the company? Who I marry doesn’t determine if it will be successful or not."
