Operation Look for Mary had kicked off and was in progress. Nicholas had decided he was going to contact the police department while Cameron had volunteered to go to the orphanages, and so the search began.

It was Monday morning when Nicholas set off for the police headquarters in New York. He had earlier contacted the NYPD commissioner and explained his plight, and the latter had asked that he come to his office.
