“Ah!!”

Sia jolted awake on her bed as she was gasping for breath.

“It's okay, Sia. You are fine. It was just a dream. You are alive,” she whispered to herself, trying to calm her racing heart. When her heart did not stop frantically stop beating, she said, “Get a grip, Sia. You are fine. You are untouchable.”

Glancing at the clock, she saw it was 5 a.m. She climbed out of bed and began her morning workout. As she was running on the treadmill, her phone rang and it was Kate, her secretary.

“Miss Swift, the CEO of Eastern subsidaries is requesting a meeting. He is threatening you,” Kate said cautiously.

Sia didn’t break her pace. “No.”

Kate knew better than to push. A "no" from Sia was final.

“The deal with the Salvatore Group is signed. Their CEO wants to meet you,” Kate continued. The Salvatore Group was one of Europe’s largest conglomerates and recently they signed a ten year contract with her company.

“Arrange it,” Sia ordered as her eyes on her heartbeat monitor and was barely ca

“Nathanniel Hart!” Anne said, angrily. “Yes mother?” A tall man man dressed in a suit was sitting on a seat. He had deep brown eyes, dark curly hair and was sitting straight as if he was attending a military parade. There was not even a crease of discomfort or frustration on his face. It was as if he had an ocean of patience and no angry words from his parents was going to raise his temper. “Did you know how many dates you blew this month?” Anne Rose Hart said, rubbing her forehead. “It was seventh! She was so beautiful and kind. Where would I find you great matches?” Her husband rubbed her back, “Dear, take deep breath. You have a BP problem. Don’t worry about these children. We only brought them to earth to get on our nerves.” At this time, his phone dinged and someone made a big purchase from his card, “Can we return them where we get it from? Rhys will end my bank balance one day.” “Father, don’t worry. I will work hard everyday,” Leon Hart said. ‘Not you, son! I am tired of

As Leon entered his office, he spotted a figure resting in his chair. He hated sharing his things but not with her. She greeted him with a yawn, “Hi, brother.”“Charlotte?” he exclaimed. She flashed him a lazy smile. “When did you get back from Paris?” he asked.“Just now,” she replied, stretching her arms above her head.“You didn’t go to see Mom and Dad?” he questioned. “Oh, no,” she said, yawning again. “I want to see but they can be overwhelming at times. My mothers will gang up on me and I can’t bear it when I am exhausted and sleep deprives.” she added, “Just give me the key to your apartment. I need a good sleep. I am so tired I might just crash in your loft here.”Charlotte was an artist who flew around the globe for exhibitions and with ten shows in the last month alone, she barely found time to rest. Despite their busy lives, she was the one in the family who understood him best. He never had to say much, she just knew what was going on inside him. Time changed so many th

“So, what is going on at home?” Leon heard Charlotte say as he saw her sitting on the rug on the floor, eating stir-fried chicken and rice with her hands straight from the bowl.“Get a spoon, Coco,” Leon said, exasperated.“Let me feel my food and eat it,” Coco replied in a tone that said she was wronged. “Do you know I can’t eat when I am at work? I crave home-cooked food and it sucks that I can’t learn to cook.” She added, “Thanks for coming sooner and making me food.”Leon rolled his eyes. If he hadn’t come home to feed her, she would have slept straight until tomorrow without eating. And it was not that she could not cook, she never bothered to learn. All her siblings and parents could cook and she decided to be the one who would only be burdened with eating! He answered, “Nothing special going on at home. Same old drama. Mom and Dad call me home, give me a lecture for a few hours and then I come back to work.”Charlotte laughed. “What did you do this time?”Yes, that’s what she h

But Sia smoothly dodged her attempt and stuck out her foot, which caused Ariana to stumble and slam hard into the wall.At that moment, Jeremy Salvatore and Leon Hart, who had been in the middle of a business conversation, arrived just in time to witness the scene. “Where the hell have you brought me?” Sia demanded as she spotted Leon casually sitting at the breakfast table and biting into his sandwich. Her anger flared so intensely that she swore she wouldn’t think twice before unloading a bullet into that smug and obnoxious head of his. Just minutes ago, she had woken up in a strange bedroom, dressed in a night suit. Who the hell had changed her clothes? The last thing she remembered was being in his car, talking to him, and then... nothing.Fucking Leon Hart! Fuming, she marched downstairs and found him in the living room, looking far too relaxed for her liking.“Good morning to you too, sweetheart,” Leon grinned, his voice dripping with smugness. That grin made her blood boil even more.“Send me back!” she barked, her tone sharp as if he were one of her subordinates. The words like please and thank you were not a part of her dictionary. Leon pointed nonchalantly towards the door. “There it is.”Sia shot him a furious glare and stormed towar

"Make me another one," she ordered, not even looking up. "And toast it properly this time."Leon clenched his jaw, swearing silently. If it weren't for the values his mother instilled in him—always feed the hungry and never refuse food, he might have lost his patience by now. This woman... did she forget I kidnapped her? She can’t order me around! But despite his inner frustration, he got up and made two more sandwiches for the insatiable goblin sitting at his table.Once she finished, Alessia wiped her mouth and looked at him coolly. This was going to be a long day.Did she really think he was one of her servants that she always order around? he must recall her some interesting facts. Now it was Leon’s turn to smile wickedly. "Did you forget that you were kidnapped?"“Leon… I’m warning you,” Alessia said in a low, dangerous voice. He leaned closer, his lips just an inch from hers.

It was dinner time when Leon finally returned. Alessia was still sitting at the dining table where he had left her in the morning. She didn’t utter a single word as he prepared food in front of her. When he placed the plates on the table, he simply said, “Eat.”She didn’t even glance up at him. All day, she had been stuck in that same spot, too afraid to move because every time she tried, Lucifer would bark and scare her back into submission. He had used her fear of dogs against her and she knew she would never forgive him for that.“Hold your beast—your dog. I want to go back to my room,” she said, her voice laced with frustration.Leon responded casually, “Sure.”He then looked at Lucifer. “Lucifer, come here. She is your mom. Don’t trouble her inside the house. Your only job is to keep her safe,” Leon instructed, as though having a conversation with the dog. Lucifer barked in protest as if reminding Leon that she had insulted him earlier. “I apologize on her behalf for calling you

EpilogueThree Years Later“Dr. Hart?”Abella turned around to see a nurse hurrying toward her.“The patient in the NICU is responding to the medication,” the nurse informed her. “Could you check on her?”Without hesitation, Abella rushed to the NICU, her heart throbbing fast. That morning, the baby girl’s condition had been critical, but now, as she looked into those tiny, bright eyes, she felt a wave of relief.“Hey there, sweetheart,” Abella cooed, smiling warmly. “You’re such a fighter. You fought so hard to be here with your mom and dad.”The baby stared up at her, and Abella’s heart melted.“Yes, you’re such a strong, big girl,” she whispered, gently touching the baby’s hand.Outside the NICU, the parents expressed their gratitude; their tearful smiles reminded Abella why she had chosen this path. In moments like these, she was reminded of how beautiful it was to help save these little angels. But there were also the heartbreaking days, the ones where some angels didn’t make it.

She is… well, very touchy and fussy.”Kate shrugged. “MIL, I have a complaint. Coco and Sia had a girls’ day without me! Can you imagine? After her divorce, Abella didn’t leave the country. Cillian had given her a staggering sum in alimony, even going as far as naming half of his assets to her, but she refused to take a single dime. She had her own inheritance. More money than she could ever need. But what could wealth do? It couldn’t buy her happiness. It couldn’t fill the void in her heart.Cillian knew her too well; he didn’t push her to accept anything. He let her go, even when it shattered him. When her mother lived in Italy with Coco and Leon, alongside her uncle Nate, she had bought a beautiful bungalow. It had never been sold, left untouched over the years. When Abella married Cillian, Leon had given her the key to that house as a quiet token of their family’s past. There were two bungalows beside each other, one where her mother had raised her two older siblings, and the other where her father had stayed, the place where her parents had met and reunited. One had been passed down to Charlotte, the other to Leon.

Cillian stared at her, his throat tightening as he heard the finality in her voice. He had imagined this conversation a thousand different ways, but none of them had prepared him for the calm and almost serene acceptance in her eyes.“Abella…” He whispered her name like a prayer, like a plea. “Can we please rethink this?”Abella smiled. It was a soft, bittersweet smile that made his chest ache.“Cillian, there is nothing to rethink,” she said gently. “Alessandro came to see me. He told me that he was leaving the country with his mother. He said he doesn’t want to come between us, that he would be happy if you called him once in a while and only if it was okay with me.” She let out a humorless chuckle. “That’s too big of a burden for me to carry. I mean, I don’t care how you navigate your relationship with your son. But I will give you one piece of advice: don’t be a jerk. Don’t hurt one more person. You have already hurt me, you have hurt him, and you have hurt his mother. Stop making

I’ll work on myself. Just give me a chance.” His hands clenched at his sides as if willing himself not to break apart. “I don’t want to see you like this, so shattered. You mean so fucking much to me. Please.”But to Abella, his words felt like echoes in an empty room. They were hollow and weightless. Once upon a time, she had longed to hear them, had dreamed of a moment where he would look at her like this, beg for her, choose her. But now? Now, they felt unimportant. They meant nothing. She exhaled, rubbing her temple. “I heard you. But my head is splitting apart, Cillian. Can you please just go back to your house? I just w

Madam Facci looked at her son, her expression undecipherable. She had seen Cillian walk through storms without flinching, but today, he stood before her looking utterly wrecked. His usually sharp eyes were bloodshot, his arm wound had reopened, staining his sleeve with fresh blood, yet none of that seemed to matter to him or anyone at this point.“What do you want, Cillian?” she asked, her voice firm but not unkind.“I’m here to see Abella,” he said. His voice was hoarse, almost desperate.Madam Facci crossed her arms. “I’m sure you have no idea what happened last night.”“I know,” he admitted, running a hand through his already disheveled hair. “I just want to explain things to her. She is overthinking this, and there is nothing much to overthink. I just—” He exhaled sharply. “I just want to make everything okay.”A wry smile tugged at Madam Facci’s lips, but there was no amusement in her eyes. “Son,” she said, “we can never tell someone what is worth overthinking or not.
