She had been crying.

"Hailey." He moved forward but she took a hasty step back.

"Don't you dare touch me!" Hailey held out her hand and put a great distance from him.

Kendrick paused and dropped his hand.

"Remember what the doctor said, Hailey. You can't let yourself be overwhelmed with—"

"Emotions. I get it!" Hailey yelled.

"That is all you know how to say. I shouldn't get mad when you're so keen on provoking me. That isn't enough for you, but you have to bring that sluty girl here to make my life hell. Well, I'm only human. And I have the right to be mad!!!"
