Chapter Ninety

When she walked down the hallway, he was just outside his study room. And he and the Butler were conversing about something.

They didn't even notice her and when they finally did, the Butler had hurried away. While Kendrick just gave her a casual glance before walking past her.

It had left her wondering about whatever he was up to. She knew it wasn't part of her business. But hell, what if he was plotting something against her?

'No, calm down, Hailey.' she chanted to herself. She was just overthinking. Or maybe over-curious. Kendrick would not do anything to her. His recent behavior had proved that.

She shouldn't be concerned with whatever was going on in his life.

The sound of the bathroom door opening reached her ears and she shut her eyes quickly. The sky had not even cleared yet, but Kendrick was already up. And had prepared for work.

She kept her eyelids closed and could hear shuffling in the background.
