Chapter Eighty-nine

Hailey didn't trust herself to maintain her mood anymore. What if something unpredictable happened? Something similar to her garden incident? Then she would be in no power to control her emotions.

"What is wrong, Dear?" Bella made her sit down properly and she placed both hands on Hailey's shoulders. "Is something bordering you?"

"No." Hailey shook her head and gave the woman a smile. "I'm fine, Bella. I just thought it would be easier to keep the mood swings in check that way."

"The only way to keep them in check is to avoid all things that will make you sad," Bella reassured. "There's no remedy that surpasses happiness. Try to engage in things that'll make you happy, okay?"

"Okay." Hailey smiled.

"And Ken, that boy. Why isn't he here with you?" Bella stared at her with furrowed brows. "Did you two have a fight? Otherwise, is he so busy to come with you?"

"He's busy." Hailey forced another smile.

He was busy relaxing in his study room and probably hatching schemes against her.
