Chapter Eighty-seven

Hailey thought back to Sharon's wound and she shivered inside. She didn't even want to think about it. She had never wounded anyone physically, and it gave her the creeps. Even she was surprised by how her rage had taken control of her.

And although Kendrick hadn't shown his anger about it, had he not scolded her that it was wrong? He even told her that Sharon was not leaving. It was just a garden and he was going to build her another one.

"Come on, Girl. Wipe off that expression." Kara poked at her shoulder. "Stop acting as if the world's over. If you keep frowning, it won't take long for those wrinkles to start showing."

Hailey gave a soft laugh and pushed her hand away. She dropped the empty plate, then stood up and got to work.

"Besides." Kara came to stand beside her. "If you look on the bright side, that girl might not think of giving you troubles anymore. He has put her into her place. And you'll once again continue working on your budding relationship. It's a double win."
