Chapter Fifty-Seven

"Open your eyes Eve, please wake up." Henry cried out. He began to wiggle Eve while rubbing her left palm vigorously.

He lifted her from the spot, carried her in his arms and placed her in the centre of the office. After discovering that her heart was still beating, he leapt for joy but didn't stop panicking.

Henry immediately pulled out his cellphone and with trembling hands, he dialled Dane's number.

"Eve! she passed out. Come to her office right now!" he screamed to Dane, breathing heavily.

Dane ran to Eve's office and saw Henry kneeling beside her unconscious body, trying to revive her.

"What happened to her?" Dane said and swept her off the floor.

Henry ran to open the door properly so Dane could head out. "She passed out," Henry replied.

"We need to get her to a hospital."

Dane hurried out of the office with Eve in his arms while Henry ran after them. When they got to the reception, the employees around began to whisper.

"Isn't that Mr Richard's new assistant?"
