Chapter Sixty-Two

"Thank you both for saving me."

"We had to. If you had died back then, what were we going to tell your family?" Dane asked with a smile.

Eve shook her head. "I can't imagine the pain and sadness they would have gone through."

Dane turned to Henry. "And your poor boyfriend? Only God knows what his reaction might be if he found out. He might charge Mr Richard to court for poisoning his lover."

Eve smiled but Henry didn't find the comment funny. He rose to his feet and faced Dane.

"Are you crazy?" he screamed. Eve was shocked at Henry's sudden change of countenance but Dane wasn't. Dane made the statement to establish a point but Eve took it as a mere joke.

Now, Henry had just fallen into Dane's trap.

"What are you saying, Dane?" Henry went on yelling.

"Calm down boss," Dane replied and stood up.

"Oh don't you tell me to calm down." Henry fired back. Henry was screaming and Eve didn't know why.
