"Ateeee," Kate called out to me, trying to be cute.

"Ateee, you're coming back, right?" she kept asking repeatedly.

"Yes, she is, Kate. She's coming back because I'm not leaving her there alone. Now, go on, Grandma might be looking for you," Gabrielle shooed Kate away.

Kate had been trying to act cute, thinking I wouldn’t come back. Gabrielle had grabbed some of Kate’s clothes for me to wear, even though they were a bit small. I was now wearing an unbranded long sleeve shirt, far from the fabrics I used to wear. I also had on loose but short jogging pants.
