Chapter 18

I thought I was hallucinating until I bumped into him. But even then, I still refused to believe that he was the one standing in front of me. It was only after he smiled at me did I finally accept the reality that Jerome was really the man standing before me.

It had been eight days since I last saw him, and those eight days had not been very nice for me. I had missed his presence, and was at the verge of driving myself insane with the thoughts of him.

"Did you suddenly lose your vision while I was gone, or did you do that intentionally to spite me for leaving for so long?" His deep baritone voice washed through my body like a gentle breeze. My heartbeat escalated, and for a straight minute I continued to stare at him in utter disbelief.

"Y.. you're here?" I stammered in shock just before Ella's cold hand rested on my shoulder, jolting me back to reality.

"You've made a mess, Lisa." Ella chastised me as she bent low to pick up the pieces of the shattered glass. "I'm so sorry
