Chapter 21

Kylan

My night was brief, and morning came faster than I had anticipated. I didn't have much to do besides eating breakfast and staring at the television before me. I had left Cole and my assistant in charge before I left, and I was confident that the two of them could handle things in my absence.

After spending a whole hour watching a TV series, I finally got bored enough to leave the hotel. I usually didn't like bothering Lisa during the early hours of the day, but it felt as though I would lose myself if I didn't speak to someone I knew. And unfortunately, she was the only person I was familiar with around these parts.

I knew she worked at a breakfast cafe during the early hours of the day, and I wasted no time in showing up to the said cafe. I needed it to feel like a coincidence, so I had skipped having breakfast at the hotel.

With a held up head, I walked into the restaurant and immediately caught a glimpse of Lisa while she was serving another customer. She had a bright smil
