Chapter three

She was scared at once because she thought it was her father's enemy. Quincey Lee rolls down the glass on his car.

"Hi! "Quincey Lee said with a smile but the sapphire sky didn't return it.

"C'mon, girl. Are you still angry over what happened earlier today? It is just a minor quarrel. Why are you taking it this far? " he smacked his lips.

"Well, I am not angry. I have enough money to board a cab so I don't need your help at all. Give it to another person who deserves it" she looked away.

"You are the one I am interested in" he made a firm and precise movement. Sapphire sky was so shocked and surprised at the same time by the words.

"Are you surprised? C'mon don't get it twisted. That's not what I meant. I just need to give a ride home nothing more. Please! " he pleased.

Sapphire sky stares at him for some minutes before she enters the car.

"Thank you, my lady" he smiled but she didn't say a word.

"I am so sorry for the way I treated you earlier. I wasn't in the right mood when you approached me" Quicney Lee apologized.

"You don't have to. I am sorry too. Nobody is above minutes" she smiled at him. There was total silence between them.

"Oh! Please I will stop here" she announced and the driver stopped the car.

As she was about to get hold of the knob of the car, Quincey Lee held her hand which made her redraw what she is about it.

"Jeaune Marie, sorry for that. Can you please give me your contact so can reach you whenever I want to" he raised his eyebrows.

"Quincey Lee, I am sorry. I don't have a cell phone yet" she sighed.

"Oh! That's bad. See you tomorrow then" he smiled.

He watched her step down from the car and waved her goodbye. The car drove off.

"I can't believe that a playboy like me will fall for a girl I just met today. She is not an original girl" he thought and smiled over it.

Sapphire sky waited for the car to be off sight before walking down the street that lead to her house. She was sweating profusely when she got home because of the weather condition.

"Baby, why are you soaked with your sweat? Did they attack you? " her aunt walked up to her.

"Attack by who?. I am fine. I wasn't chased by anyone. I walked from the other street to this place which is a little bit far" she rubbed her eyes.

"Oh, my baby! Why did you do such a thing to yourself? What happens to cabs? I know I gave you enough money to broad one" she wrapped her arm around her.

"Aunt, I am so sorry. I did it for my safety. A student from the school offers me a ride in his car which I suppose not to decline. I had to ask him to drop me off at the other street from him not to know my place" she explained.

"Sapphire sky, it's fine. I am proud of you. Go in and freshen up. I will be waiting for you at the dinner table for lunch. She rushes in with so much excitement. Not quite long, she joined her aunt for lunch.

"Sapphire sky, how was school today? I hope it wasn't stressful" she furrowed her brow.

"Aunt, today is a little bit stressful. When I got into the school compound, I was overwhelmed by the way the school looks. My dream school to be precise. I am a new student so there is no way I am going to get to know the principal's office. Luckily for me, I found someone and me toward his attention which he responds to. He told me everything I need to know and when I was about to show him some appreciation, he walked out on me like one piece of trash. Right now I don't just know what is going on. He has been all over me after the incident happened" she scratched the back of her hair.

"He is the one who drop you off today right," her aunt asked.

'Yes, he did. Something interesting happened today also. I bumped into some girl today and she insulted the hell out of me simply because I got into the school through a scholarship" she bow her head playing with her meal. Her aunt rubs her shoulder with her hand.

"Sapphire, you don't have to be like this. It is not good for you. It is just for the main time. Before you knew all this will be over and you will be happy" she consoles her.

"Aunt, when?. It has been over a decade now since my parents died and nothing had been done to set me free. I hide my true identity simply because of my father's best friend who has become his enemy. This world is so cruel and wicked. I blame dad for this" she angrily tapped her hand on the table and run inside. Her aunt called her so many times but no response so she let her be.

Eddie Wayne was pacing around his office in his mansion with a cigarette in his hand. His mistress, miss Gaynell was also with him and she sat down on one of the seats in his office.

"Miss Gaynell, have you heard anything about sapphire sky whereabout? "He bought out a cloud of smoke from his mouth.

"No, I haven't heard anything about her after the death of her parents. I think they had taken her far away from this country" she ran her hand through her hair.

"That is warrant nonane! How long will it take you to have the necessary information I need about her? I need to get rid of her as soon as possible" he tapped his fist so hard on the table.

"Eddie Wayne, please calm down. We are working on it and besides, we don't have some important things to get her" she folded her hands.

"Important things like what? " he asked angrily.

"Like her picture or something because we can't just get her without those things," she said.

"Gaynell, I don't want an excuse next time. Get the necessary information I need or I will get rid of you. There is no time. Get back to work" he screamed at her. As miss Gaynell was about to leave. Eddie Wayne stops her and walked up to her.

"I give you two weeks to get me all the necessary information I need to hear. Here are her pictures which she took with her parents fifteen years ago on their family vacation and you know what to do" he said and looked away. Henrietta walked in on them and run to hug her dad.

"My angel, you are home. How was school today? "He asked still in the warm embrace of her daughter.

"School was a little bit stressful but it's still cool. Dad, why didn't you pick me up from school? You left me alone with those boring guards" she wrinkled.

"Oh! My angel, I am so sorry. I was busy with something very important" he draw her closer.

"Oh! I see. What's so important? " she eyed Miss Gaynell.

"Hey, you! Let me take a good look at that picture. I hope it is not our family picture " she chested out with her eyes focused on Miss Gaynell.

"I can't give it to you. It is private and you are not included in the picture" miss Gaynell stepped back.

"Oh! Really. It is private. This is my father's house and everything that comes out of this mansion is not private at all and it must pass through me first. I need to put you in your place. Give it to me now" she eyed her and stretched her hand in front of miss Gaynell. Miss Gaynell looked at Eddie Wayne but he didn't say a word. She doesn't have any other choice than to give her the picture. Henrietta stared at the picture for a while.

"She looks exactly like the new student in my school," she thought to herself.
