Chapter five

Courtney stood still for some minutes before sitting down. "Quincey Lee, I am so sorry. She is not in a good mood" she explained to him.

"She is. You don't have to lie to yourself. Jeanne Marie had been avoiding me lately simply because of what happened between us. I acted rude to her that's what makes her mad at me. I need to get going" He rubs his hands together and walks away.

"Oh! Shit. Why will she do anything like that to him? I have the opportunity to talk to him for the first time" she smile seducing before leaving to look for her friend. She met her in the library searching for a book on the shelf.

"I knew I will find you here. Why did you have to leave just like that? It is disrespectful of you to walk out on us like that. You should have repeated Quincey Lee " she exasperated.

"Are you here to scold me over what I did earlier? You are not in the right position to tell me who to give my respect to or who I shouldn't give it to. Quincey Lee might be an extremely rich, handsome, and sexy guy in this school but that doesn't mean I should worship his feet" She squirts her eyes.

"I didn't say you should worship his feet. He offers you a gift and you rejected it without saying words of appreciation. That's wrong" She pressed her lips together.

"Courtney, that's enough. This is a library and there are rules in here" She continue with what she was doing before she walks in. Courtney moves closer to her.

"You are new in this school. You don't know how things go around here. I know you are facing some issues at the hands of Henrietta but that doesn't stop you from being a friend with Quicney Lee. Quincey Lee has never for once offers a gift to any lady in this school before. You walked into this school and everything changed" she said and held her hand.

"What are you insolenting that I had made a rude playboy guy fall in love with my appearance? " sapphire said with her eyes fixed on Courtney. With their eyes contacted together for a while.

"Courtney, you won't understand even if I tried to explain everything to you. Quincey Lee is every woman's dream but not mine. His first approach says it all and you don't have to scold me because of it" She tossed her hair and took a book.

"What happened between the both of you because I don't get it? " she fold her arm below her breast.

"Courtney, he acted rudely to me at first," she said opening the book she took.

"Just that. I thought it was something more than that" she said and took a book. She sat down close to Sapphire Sky.

"Why haven't you forgiven him since then? " she asked.

"Who said I haven't? Why are you saying this as if you were not in the cafeteria? You saw what happened. Henrietta attacks me because of me. Who knows what will happen next? It is only a dumb person who won't know what is going on. Henrietta is in love with Quicney Lee and she doesn't want any other lady to come around him" She leaned back and looked up.

"Henrietta is a spoilt brat who is very stingy and cruel. She is a desperate lady who wants everything to herself. There is no doubt that she is in love with Quicney but Quicney Lee will never imagine in his entire life falling for such a lady. Being friends with Quicney Lee will protect you from her riot so you have to forgive him and be his friend as he wishes" She smiled at her and sapphire sky stares at her for a while. Courtney left the library to get something for herself when she walks in on Henrietta. She tries to walk out. She tries to walk out on her but Henrietta stops her with her hand placed on Courtney's way.

"I never knew you are the friendly type until today. Courtney, I had prayed for this day to come for us to be having some good conversation together because we share different attitudes" She smirked and she chested out.

"Henrietta, we don't share the same attitude. Everyone knows you to be a bully and cruel as well. I know I was once like you but I had to realize my mistakes and amend my ways. I think you should do the same as well" She squirts her eyes and looked away. Henrietta moves closer to her.

"Courtney, you and I know you did that because of Quincey Lee. For him to fall for you. I saw the way you looked at him earlier. The new student had won the heart of Playboy and I won't let work out. We have the same enemy and we have to find a way to get rid of her. "She smirked.

"Henrietta, I won't do that because of Quincey Lee. Jeanne Marie had found a friend in me so I won't for any reason break that trust she has for me as her friend. I know you are doing this because of your selfish interest. We all know how you forced yourself on him and you think we can be a friend for us to fight my friend. I don't have any interest in Quincey Lee anymore and if he chooses her over me, I am cool with it. She is my newfound friend" She was about to walk out on her when Henrietta's voice stopped her.

"Courtney, you dare not walk out on me like that. You don't even know her. You are rich and you shouldn't be seen with a pauper like her" She stretched out her legs in front of her. Courtney turns around and faced her.

"Rich or poor? We are one. If I choose to be with a pauper as a friend, I don't hold anyone any explanation for that" Courtney hissed and walked away.

"Courtney is stubborn. She should be grateful that I speak with her" Henrietta waved her hand and walked majestically to her class. Courtney walks into the library and met Sapphire packing her books.

"What are you doing?" She said immediately she walks up to her.

"Courtney, you spent the whole day trying to get something for yourself and you think I will wait for you" She increased the pitch in her voice.

"Wait a minute, are you mad at me simply because I stepped out to get something for myself" She stares at her.

"Courtney, you spent the whole day trying to fix something for yourself. You know I hate it when someone keeps me waiting. I have a class to attend in less than thirty minutes from now. I don't want to miss the lecture" She grabbed her books.

"I am so sorry for keeping you waiting. I was stuck with some crazy idiots which I had to sort out. I will be in the library waiting for you because I need to read some novels" She took one of her novels from the bookshelf and opened it.

"Alright. I will be back as soon as the lecture is over" She hugged her with a peck on her cheek. Sapphire rushed out to meet up with the lecturer. She bumped into someone and all her books fell on the floor. She bends down to pick them up.

"I am so sorry. I didn't watch my way. Please pardon me. You can scold me" She keeps on saying those words while picking up her books off the ground. Quincey Lee bends down to pick up the books as well. Sapphire was shocked to see Quicney because she never knew it was Henrietta or someone else. They stare at each other straight into their eyes for some minutes before they could realize what going on.
